Nokia :: 5230 Can I Use Cable To Transfer Music Not Bluetooth?
Apr 1, 2010
I bought a bluetooth connector and PC Suite works for everything on my 5230 except the music player doesn't see my phone as it says I need a cable. Can you only use a cable to transfer music and not bluetooth?
this is strange question, but since 5230 do not have wi fi is they any software which can turn wi fi on for 5230?and how can i use my broadband internet through my computer by usb cable in nokia 5230, so that i dont have to buy any internet package from my mobile company?
Is there any procedure through which i can literally download OVI apps & stuffs directly to my Nokia 5230 using my PC Internet via USB Connection. Nokia 5230 doesn't have WiFi connectivity unlike Nokia 5800. So each time i need to download them through the GPRS which has premium charges for each download.
I have a strage problem! Everytime I receive a music file trought bluetooth, I receive it in my message inbox Realy strange! You have any idea how can I resolve this?Oh! By the way, my phone is a Nokia 5230!
I bought my new 5230 online from Vodafone a week ago. I wasn't aware there wouldn't be a data cable! Vodafone don't sell them online and as I haven't full mobility, it's hard for me to source one. My husband bought a micro usb data cable for me, but it was too big for my phone. There is no specific information about which data cable I need (is the a code for this cable?) in the handbook that came with the phone.

I just downloaded and started using Ovi Suite. My Nokia 5230 is running old software so I wanted to update it. My phone is completely working and a SIM card is inserted in it and I can call with it, but when I want to install the update then it says that there is no SIM card. I have tried ejecting the SIM card and inserting it again but it didn't work. Do you know anything that would help? And also somewhy I'm unable to install anything into the phone by USB cable.
I have a strange problem with my nokia. when i hide music player i don't have the control panel for music (this one selected on pic) how can i bring it back? becouse is so uncomfortable
After updating firmware with V50.0.001 version, I tried a lot to update music player with new tracks but I didn't get any track updated in my 'all songs'. even not in 'recently addad'.
I am using Nokia 5230 handset, running with 50.0.001 firmware version, now when I try to open Music player, it shows me a blank-black screen. I am not able to listen any of my music file.
I got my 5230 updated to 20.0.005 last time, and actually it's a good update. The perfomance is better than before, but I encountered a problem that really annoying me.I love listening to music. It's everything for me. But now the music player can't detect new music files, even it's imported from a bluetooth connection. After I save it from the inbox, sometimes it said "General : System Error". The files is inside the memory card, but can't be detected by the music player although I refresh the music library. The same thing happened when I import some music files from the computer using Nokia PC Suite. In the library, there is the artist's name or the album's name, but after I clicked it, there isn't any music files inside. What happened actually with the music player?About the memory card, I got it from the phone package. It's 2 GB, and still has approx. 130 MB free. Is it the memory card or the update?
Recently purchased a Belkin Micro USB Bluetooth dongle, plugged into my Vaio and installed drivers that came with the CD.
currently running Windows 7, and I can pair the phone...the usb dongle works, however, when transferring music files wirelessly it stops at anything under 30%. I have tried unisntalling the bluetooth drivers and installing others but to no avail...i get the same hanging problem.I can transfer photos no problem, click to send via bluetooth on laptop, set the phone to receive but no luck with music files.
Just got this phone yesterday, so I am still learning the ins and outs of the env3. I am a mac user and figured out how to use bluetooth to connect the phone to my macbook. I transferred pictures and music. Both worked and showed up on the phone. I did this until the battery died and plugged it in to do a full charge. After charging, the pictures I had transferred were still in the picture file, but the music did not show up in the music file. When I connected to my mac again the music file shows that the music is still on the phone, according to the computer, but the file on the phone says no music. What do I need to do? Where is the music?
I have a question about transfering pictures or any media to my computer from my nokia 5230 nuron. When I connect it to my computer with the usb tongle cord it gives me a few options. No matter what option I pick XP recognizes it and tries to install the driver for it but it can't find one and no cd was provided with the phone.Any ideas on how to get this to work? I tried just sending the picture via email but its stuck qued each time I try to send it.
I have had an LG Nexus 4 for about 2 years, and I remember transferring music from my old Samsung S2 to the Nexus 4 was a breeze (was able to move 1,200 songs in a few minutes by Bluetooth). Today I purchased an LG G3 and now I want to move the music from the Nexus 4 to the G3. I cannot figure out a quick and easy way to so this.... the music player on the Nexus 4 does not allow me to select Bluetooth as a transfer option. I also tried installing the LG Cloud.... I can get songs to go to the cloud, but only 1 song at a time (this will take forever and makes no sense at all). There has to be a simpler, more efficient way to transfer music from 1 phone to the other....
I bought Xperia Pro mini and was told i will be able to trasfer files via bluetooth to other devices. Unfortunately, my phone cannot be detected by other phone eventhough the bluetooth is on. Even if I pair it with other phone & devices..it aint working.
I have no problems with using the 5230 as a tethered device when connected with USB using Ovi Suite. However, when trying the same when the 5230 is connected via bluetooth Ovi Suite tells me that the "device is not connected" (or similar). It is connected - I can transfer photos, read SMS, send SMS, install apps etc etc under bluetooth. It just won't allow me to use it as a modem. I appreciate that using bluetooth to tether is not ideal, but there are sometimes when I am out and about with my netbook where I might not have the USB cable around.
My wife has just got a new 5230, and we have come across a couple of issues which I wondered if anyone had answers to.First, when opening the "dialer" option during a call (so you can respond to "press 1 for....." questions), the "keypad" does not display the letters associated with each number (i.e. "ABC" on key 2, etc.). Is there any way of modifying settings to show the letters as well?Second, when using the phone in our new Fiesta, the phone book is displayed in the car as "last name, first name". The phone displays as "first name, last name" which is what we want. Using my phone in the same car (Nokia 3109), the car displays "first name, last name". I've got round the problem by putting each of the phone book entries into the Last name field only, but this obviously isn't ideal. Again, any ideas? I asked this question to the Nokia help desk, and got a generic "this is how you connect to the car using blue tooth" answer, which was no help at all!
Since I've had success on my last query I have another now. I have a Vodafone VBH-600, aka 6xx plantronics bluetooth headset and I cannot get it to pair with the 5230-"device not found" is all I get. Is it not compatible or like last problem is there just a simple solution?
I'm trying to use my phone using a car-kit CK3100. Devices are recognizing each other but the problem is that cannot stay connected more than 5-6 seconds. After connection they are disconnecting and so on. What can be the problem? Did somebody else experience a similar problem?
I have approx 590 MP3 music tracks on my 5230 4gb memory card and I want to delete them all and start afresh. I have deleted the playlist but obviously my music is still there.I then tried to delete all my tracks by marking them all and then deleting but I got "general system error" message.Am trying to delete too many tracks at once, or is there a way of deleting them, or formatting my memory card to clear everything? I know I could take my card out and use a PC/card reader to clean but I didn't want to remove the card if possible. Is it possible or not please?
I got my 5230 today. And when I put music on it, and played the song, it plays extremely soft, even if the volume is on its loudest. There's this button on the headset, when I press it, it plays louder, but only on the left side?? I tried putting in another set of headphones, but the problem remains.
I have a song that i downloaded from the Ovi music store and transfered it to my Nokia 5230. It stated that i did not have the correct license to listen to it and that i should try to get it over air. It then leads me onto the internet where i have to enter in my Ovi store username and password, i enter in the correct details but it tells me that i need to allow cookies to access the next page, the only problem is that i have already allowed cookies, why does it not recognize this?
I've just bought new Nokia 5230, my earlier phone was Nokia 5200. I had bought memorycard for the 5200, and I had some music in it. Now i put the memorycard to the 5230, but the music doesn't appear to the player. I don't get this, I like to listen music and all I want is to get the music to the player.
