The phone was working fine 1.5 days with moderate use .. suddenly it only lasts 6 hours ( stand by) while iam sleeping.. it had more than 70% battery and after 6 hours its empty !! how do i fix that ? without installing 100 programs to reflash the stupid phone
View 6 RepliesAfter update to iOS 5.1 my iPad2 battery has drained did try everything that I could find on the internet, reinstalled the iPad,only when I disable wifi, then power is ok, but that is not a solution, an iPad without wifi is a big piece of junk. don't know what to do anymore,

I got a new Lumia 900 recently and have noticed that the battery hardly lasts half a day.I have emails configured as push, whatsapp running and the weather flow app. I have turned off all other background tasks.1. Does the people hub sync in the background? The feeds update only when I open the app, so I am not sure.2. Does the me hub sync in the background?3. Will removing their tiles from the start screen, will they stop syncing? Or do I have to unlink my Facebook, twitter and linked accounts completely?4. If I turn in background tasks for a program like flickr/imdb, will they sync even if they dont have live tiles on the home screen? What do they sync? I have always seen them start from scratch when I open he apps.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter I update to V22 it seems that the battery it drain much quickly and another problem is that sometimes if i close the phone and then start again sometimes it's starts,appear nokia logo and then it close ,I push again the power button and then it starts (sometimes I must try 2-3 times until it starts).
I got to say that before it doesn't happened and before update to V22 I hard reset my phone including my mass memory and memory card sow the phone was like new.
I have the Lumia 820 with the Navigon navigation app installed. I went on a trip this past weekend and noticed a strange battery drain while driving to my destination. The drive was a little over 2 hours and I was charging the phone the whole time. I figured I would test it on the drive home. I charged the phone completely before starting the drive home. I was camping so I had to use the lighter jack in the car which is always on and charged the phone from less then 10% to 100% overnight. Again the drive was a little over 2 hours, had the Navigon app open and running the whole time and the phone was plugged into the lighter and the charging icon was registering a charge the whole time. The only other thing running was cellular data. NFC, Bluetooth, Wifi, Nokia Drive, all off. When I arrived home the phone was at 45% and was very hot.
I upgraded from the Samsung Focus and using the Navigon app in the same car never ever had less power when I I ended a trip to when I started a trip. I use the Navigon app all time so this is a real issue. I am also going to post this on the Navigon website.
The Nokia Lumia 900 got BRICKED within a week of getting it....Here is what happened, last night I could not get my phone recharged on time and as I was doing something the phone suddenly froze and died as it had ran out of juice. I left it there in that state for awhile and then plugged into wall...first the bottom three buttons lit up, a white screen, then a big battery showed up with with a bit of red charge, then a nokia page and then finally an att page with the words "rethink possible".....and it shuts off and starts this loop.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI recently received my N8 (1-1.5 weeks ago) and have been having a lot of fun with it however my biggest gripe is that the battery would require charging far too soon (once or twice a day depending on use)I was a little dumbfounded as reviews have been praising the N8s battery life. However I thought perhaps my usage was a little more extreme than the common user/reviewer.
Until the other night, before bed, my battery indicator showed roughly 50% battery life; I had turned my widgets and apps off (my bluetooth and gps were also off the only thing on was my wifi)
I locked my screen, leaving the clock screensaver on, and proceeded to sleep not 4 hours later I awoke and wanted to check what time it was but my phone had shut off, the battery was drained!
This doesn't seem normal to me and I posed the question to the aforementioned blog and the replies I received also found the situation odd.I have proceeded with a test after charging my battery to full. This time I have insured everything is turned off, that is the: widgets are in offline mode; apps; wlan; gps; bluetooth; FM transmitter. I have left the clock screensaver on and am waiting to see how long the battery lasts.
Since the latest firmware update ive noticed my phone battery isnt lasting that long at all.
was fully charged when i went to bed, 8 hrs later without use its a 1/4 down. now through the day at work using it everynow n again for text message im down to 1/4 left.
I have used this App for years now and just upgraded a few weeks ago to the new 3.01(0) (S60 5.0) from Sports Tracker Technologies for the N97 Mini. I have noticed a major problem with the new application which pretty much drains my N97 battery within a couple of hours from full charge, and if you like to cycle for more than 2 hours this is a real pain in the neck.
I have tested every other app, on standby, the old Nokia beta version and no problem with the battery (I even bought a new battery!). I reported the problem to the new company in Mid July (twice) and have still to even get an acknowledgement that they received my email. I also reported a more minor issue at the same time where by all screens do not show up in the selected unit of measure (e.g. if you select miles/imperial as the default) the month summary screen still shows Kms.
Thought I's start ANOTHER thread on this topic as the other one a) had not official response, and b) slipped down the list.
Have now tried all different types of remedy for this fault Re-set at least a dozen times (pressing the power button for 15/20 secs) Factory re-set, then having to re-install all my apps
Still got a massive battery drain fault - Used to get 3 to 4 days out of it before Belle upgrade, now I'm lucky to get a day & a half and I switch the phone off at night when in bed.
What on earth is going on Nokia? Such as shame that a very good phone & platform is letting your long term customers down with such a severe battery drain.
Will be talking to vodafone later this week to get the phone looked at but I will expect the response that the phone will be sent away for testing and I will be without a phone for the duration.
Also, is it correct that by not updating to Belle can invalidate the warranty on the hand set?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia 5800 xpressmusic mobile and its about 7 months old , I charge up the phone and the batery lasts between 6-8 hours with very little use ? the phone is just draining the power from the batery . At first I thought batery dyeing so I put another one in , charged it up and the same happened again,About a 2 weeks ago it did get wet fell in the sink and I dried it out and waited a few days befor I switched it on and it worked perfect no problems until a couple of days ago. I can put batery in and charge it switch phone on with no problems , I even took the batery out to see if the batery was dyeing on its own with no problems put it in my friends phone and it lasted as it should , so is this a software problem in the phone or is it earthing or something to cause a drain?

After some tests, uninstalling programs, deleting all WLAN Connections etc I found out that this is caused by unwanted WLAN connections to known WLANs. How can i solve this?This happens only at home or in my office (where I use wlan) , there are no applications running and nothing is allowed to sync automatically. But after some minutes when I unlock my 5800, I can see the wlan antenna - but when I want to check the connection, it disappears.I never had battery or WLAn issues, but since upgrading to v50 when i forget to connect it to the charger overnight the battery has drained and is empty.For finding open WLAn and for easy connections I use WeFi since I own my 5800. This never caused me any problem. But I have read through the Support Discussion and some other boards on the web: There are many others that suffer from battery drain after upgrading to Firmware v50.So please check whether this may also be related to unwanted WLAN traffic on your 5800:I stayed a few days in a hotel where there was no WLAN. I tried to upgrade again to Firmware v50 again via PC and cable, not OTA again. The battery lasted for three days as before (but remeber there was no WLAn available!)As soon as I was back home, the 5800 begain to connect again in standby estimated every 10 minutes to my home WLAN. I can see this in the routerīs connected devices. When I unlock the 5800 I see that WLAN is active and connected, a second later, or if I click on the icon, the connection disappears Simply bad, because when I forget my phone charger in the evening to hang on in the morning it is empty.Perhaps these guys have the same problem: /t5/Connectivity/5800-Wifi-Bug/m-p/410781 but I never ever had photo exchange, skype, fringe or else installed. I have changed nothing before or after the upgrade to v50, I have not installed new software or else.

I am finding that sometimes they add up to within 1% of the total shown.... and sometimes they are WAY off with as much as 30% of the displayed battery drain unaccounted for. Since I don''t have access to the battery terminals, I can't determine independently whether the percentages shown are simply inaccurate, or whether there are missing processes (ie., processes not shown at all in the battery monitor).

I have location, Hey Cortana and most background apps turned off and still get the drain. Also I just noticed while charging it takes forever, but when it get's to 40% it goes up to 100% in less than 10 min.

After 5-6 hours with data activated, no GPS, no WiFi, no Bluetooth the phones turn off (0%) Can't believe that's normal.When i've bought the XPERIA RAY, i've 2 days before my battery goes empty... View 24 Replies View RelatedPrevious smart phones I owned turned wifi off when the screen went dead. So essentially wifi didn't really drain any battery and wifi was easier on the battery then 3g when actively pulling down data.
So now I am on a 2gb plan (previously on unlimited) and sensitive to this I keep my wifi on all the times to use my home connection when possible.My battery however is barely getting through a full day. My wife was getting solid days but she had wifi off.Do you think that this is effecting it? I use my phone quite a bit throughout the day.
For the past couple of days I've been having some strange battery problems. I can have my phone on and the battery is at 100%. Then I'll shut it off and turn it back on a few hours later and my battery would drop a significant percentage like 30% or so. It doesn't just do this when the phone is fully charged it will do it when the battery is at any percentage.

Worked fine, put my Tmobile SIM in, made calls, downloaded apps, ect. Plugged it in overnight, got up this morning and took it off the charger at 100%. Leave it sitting and 5hrs later the battery is down to 30%! Wifi, 3g, push, ect ect are all off. Someone please help, I was so excited to get this working and now the battery doesn't even last half a day with no use!

I rely on my phone for business and it can't even make it through a work day! It is draining about 4 times faster than normal. I found a post referencing to 'Reset All Settings' which I tried yesterday, but it still is draining fast. I tried resetting, rebooting, shutting down all apps, but nothing helps.

I woke up and, still plugged in, was at 97%...?Is this normal by any means? I have had many issues with the new upgrade but the one that is driving me crazy is the battery drain since the upgrade. Previously I got almost 2 days on a full charge, and now I can't get 6 hrs. I put it on GPRS , because i didn't did any browsing on that day and to see how much my battery will last. So after a few phones, sms, emails, I was down to 80% by 10PM. Was very happy with what I saw. In background were running Accuweather and Facebook with update once every 3 hours. Also I have Battery Bost MAX, and an application which shows me battery icon with procentage.(Smart Blndie). I am in an area with good signal. Put the phone in the holster, and went to bed. I was very courios to see what the battery shows. At 6 AM i was shocked : 42%... I can't blame it on the applications, because if there were their fault, my battery should discharge the same over day... GPS is off, wifi is off. The phone has 2 weeks (almost new). I am runing 7.1.0.658 OS.. My screen is at 10%, and turn off over 20 seconds...
