So far so good since the update but the only problem now that i noticed is the battery. Since the update, my phone now consumes more power and i have to charge it at least once every day. Before the update i was charging it every 3 days.
View 19 RepliesMy Nokia N8 is restarting from time to time(once at 3-4 days) or one time just freeze when browsing the screens(hard stop needed). This is happening only after update to Symbian Belle. With Anna I do not have this kind of problems.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have updated my Nokia N8 to Nokia Belle with Nokia Updater for Mac but I cannot find contacts, sms and notes. All disappeared and unfortunately I don't have a backup. It is urgent and important. At the end of the update it was asking me if I wanted to import contacts from another Nokia phone, but as it wasn't the case, I bypassed that option. Surely I did something wrong but I really do hope that contacts, notes and sms are saved somewhere on my Mac.

Before, it was found through Settings and Connectivity > Remote drives. Is it missing in Belle or it moved to somewhere else?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I just updated to Belle on my Nokia N8, and after it made a big thing of backing up my text messages, contacts, calendar entries and media, it seems to have lost most of this. After telling Nokia Suite to sync with my phone, it syncronised all of my media (music, photos) but my texts, contacts and calendar entries are nowhere to be found.

Have now tried all different types of remedy for this fault Re-set at least a dozen times (pressing the power button for 15/20 secs) Factory re-set, then having to re-install all my apps
Still got a massive battery drain fault - Used to get 3 to 4 days out of it before Belle upgrade, now I'm lucky to get a day & a half and I switch the phone off at night when in bed.
What on earth is going on Nokia? Such as shame that a very good phone & platform is letting your long term customers down with such a severe battery drain.
Will be talking to vodafone later this week to get the phone looked at but I will expect the response that the phone will be sent away for testing and I will be without a phone for the duration.
Also, is it correct that by not updating to Belle can invalidate the warranty on the hand set?
Since updating to Belle on my N8 the battery power has significantly gone down. I use my phone the same way every day. I have turned off the clock screen saver too and still goes down quickly. Before it would last 4 or 5 days, with light use of the camera and internet, now it won't last past 3.

- Push Exchange sync over WLAN (if available) or UMTS;
- VoIP Client, always registered.
The device worked about 16 hours; after wards was the battery empty. Well, I had two GSM/UMTS conversations - 5 minutes each - and I tested the OVI maps - maybe 15 minutes navigation with A-GPS.There is one more thing: the device gets pretty warm.The phone was RMAd back to amazon.de. I've got a new one: it was pretty the same.My question: am I unlucky or is the E52 generally so? Should I try once more, I mean, a new delivery?My old E51, which is unfortunately already Ebay'ed, did work with the same load at least 3 days. And, don't forget, it has a smaller battery than the E52.
If a Particular App or a widget is draining the Battery which I dont know as yet as in who is the culprit, how can I identify which App is causing the problem. Is it Pure Guess Work?

Which there have been several since 5.1 was released, I,m not sure also but my new iPad possibly maybe showing similar effects. As mentioned this all has happened over the last few days. So once again I am posting becasue I've been having this issue with my storm all day long. It started this morning when I noticed my phone was using data nonstop and it began to drain my battery. My battery died already once and now I am charging the phone with the radio turned off. It keep showing the arrows sending and recieving from the moment I turn the radio on. I realize that .419 had many issues but I went as far as deleting all my apps and one theme and still I get this problem. I also deleted BBM but no matter what I try it continues. Can anyone shed some light on how I can fix this little lemon. I pulled battery about 10 times what can I do?

The Nokia Maps app does pretty good nav but whereas e.g. TT will accept a postcode like CT16 2AB, Nokia Maps (or Drive as it is called; the Drive app shares the same database with the Maps app) accepts only CT162.
Today I tried to drive from Brighton (UK) to Biggin Hill Airport but Drive could not find Biggin Hill, which is weird. So I used an old Pocket/PC PDA with TT6 to get there. The Nokia apps did not show any roads/streets for a large area around the destination and on the way back it was about half an hour before I reached a map showing roads/streets. I deleted and reloaded the UK map (400MB) from Nokia and that fixed that bizzare issue, but having two ways to do the job is obviously desirable. And TT is a better app with a better database.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI own a N8 for 1 and half years and very happy with it. I did not upgrade to Belle because I read lots of people that were not satisfied and wanted to go back to Anna.
Problems I read in the forum in various discussions:1) Camera performance in low light has deteriorated, I love my N8 mainly because of the camera
2) Battery life is worse
3) Applications will be lost and I will need to reinstall them all , plus could never get back the Nokia ones I had free through offers
4) The useful and effective Nokia clock/calendar/profile switcher has been showed the door in favor of a Andoid-style clock
5) Widgets are worse or less effective: the email and music widgets are very big that I don't think I will be very happy wasting lots of space with no alternative.
6) Widgets do not change with theme, I have my nice Anna email/music and other widgets that gets transparent or just adapt to the Theme I choose, I haven't seen that on Belle. That ugly email widget for example is always the same , white on blue.
So basically I feel that I give up lots of useful and efficient features just in order to get a OS that is more fluid , has more homescreens and I can move the widgets and shortcuts around??
I have looked around the forum and there are still people not satisfied but most comments are now old.
