I get an error messege on the computer when using mass storage mode that says "failed to install device driver'. I downloaded PC suite and tried PC suite mode. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia x6 16 gb..I had it for about a week in which time I added 14gb of music and the uk maps..All was working perfectly. However.... Last Saturday I decided to use the "comes with music" voucher that came with it..I selected the music I wanted and downloaded it and was told that I had to download the DRM software to play...I clicked yes and then waited and waited..it seemed my phone had frozen as ovi player would not transfer any music to it.. I unplugged it and tried to plug back in but got the dreaded "mtp device driver failed". I have tried everything I have read on these forums and the web including:- Deleting the folder in the private folder on the mass storage card. performing a hard reset on the phone (although my music was still on the card?) Deleting all of the nokia software and running the nokia cleaner and reinstalling... Doing the above but disabling Windows media player and reanabling it a later date still no joy.. I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit on my desktop so no options to reinstall WMP just disable. I have tried to plug it into my wifes' laptop which has windows 7 home premium 32 bit and I get the same message however her nokia 5800 works fine in her laptop..

ok, so i wanted to try to free up some memory space and delete some apps that i didn't need using desktop manager on my mac. i plug in the device, open desktop manager, click on the applications button, uncheck all the unnecessary apps (brickbreaker, asian languages, etc). when i go to proceed, i get a pop-up:

During the driver install, MTP USB device fails. Four of the five catagories work just fine, but this one fails every time. I am not the only person having this problem, but I can not find this issue on the support forum.

I bought a new iphone 4s and try to connect it to my laptop, device driver installation failed. Previously i was having one ipone 4s which i gave it to my brother and now try to add the photos from the itunes. but i couldn't able to connect with laptop or the itunes at all.

I tried resetting my phone back to 8.0 so I could have the Cyan firmware installed on my 1020 along with 8.1 Update 1, however the program won't recognise the device:
The Software Updater for Retail says the exact same thing too.
How to rectify this? Or if not, any ETA on when the Cyan update can be expected to be available for Dev Preview users? I have a 930 as my daily driver now but, as an amateur photographer and filmmaker the 1020 is still a highly useful device for me.
Some time ago my Blackberry Storm was automatically updated from V4.7 to V5. the following day I found that I was unable to forward any text messages. I contacted Vodafone and they informed me that was correct Blackberry had changed it's firmware. This seems ridiculous to me but anyone confirm this for me. I would like to keep the phone up to date, but ended up putting V4.7 back on the system.

I was looking for an opportunity to update my iPhone to the newest iOS software (since it was on 5.0) without erasing all the data saved on my mobile. But that time I did not know that all data will be erased when upgrading a device a complete version (like from 3.0 to 4.0 or 4.0 to 5.0) and then it happened. Several hundred business contacts of mine has been erased and cannot be reset. All functions except the phone/message contacts are unimportant now. MOST IMPORTANT: I connected my iPhone with a new MacBook, updated iTunes to 10.6.3 (current version) and synced my mobile with it. Data will be erased if updating on an unknown computer (for iOS device) where no data which are on my iPhone are saved. Unfortunately, the instructions at iTunes Support were helpless because during the important backup for resetting all datas has been interrupted with the following window: Backup not possible , There are not enough space on the iPhone left to finish the backup.
It has never continued and since then all data has been erased. I would be incredibly glad if anybody could give me at least a tip to do something.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy 4 month old Xperia Z2 has always worked fine until today. It was connected to my Mac computer, and I was asked to update Sony bridge for MAC. After about 10 mins it said Update Failed on the computer. I disconnected the phone, but now the phone wont turn on - all I get is an error message saying "Software update failed, make sure that your phone is connected to the computer and try again"
However when I connect it, the device isnt recognised.
I cant switch the phone off or on, all thats happening is a continuous loop of red light and then the error message (it's on charge at the moment)....
A friend gave me his nexus 5 because it have a problem, one day the phone was stuck on boot screen (the flying balls of lollipop) and to add difficulty (can't be easy right?) windows doesn't recognize the phone but it recognize my nexus 5 with the same cable on the same usb port....
I get a "Device Descriptor Request Failed"(the usb port on the nexus seems to be ok) but my nexus get none ... Is it a hardware issue ? I heard that there is issues with nexus 5's motherboard...
I can enter the fastboot and recovery but after a wipe, still stuck..... Not rooted and booloader locked....

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy lumia 1320 has developed a strange problem. first candy crush was not being downloaded. after that many other apps joined the list. now i installed windows insider but the update goes upto 98% and then shows some problem.
Software reinstalling has the same seen. after complete download, it restarts again or failed....
I was restoring my lumia 1520 with the windows device recovery tool back to version 8.1. After the phone had gone into the flashing mode with the red screen and progress bar, the device recovery tool stopped and I got an error in the log: Flashing failed with error 0x00040010.
I hard reset the phone with the volume down + power button. Now the phone will not turn on at all. No backlight on the screen and no vibration to confirm it is on. The battery was on 90% before it failed.
I have also tried volume down + plug in charger + power and still nothing. I am think that maybe if I open the phone and physically disconnect the battery, this could clear anything that is stopping it.

So I attempted to do a full wipe/hard reset on my Nokia 1020.. I thought it was working until it restarted and now goes to a WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER screen. Am I completely screwed now? I don't understand how I can't even force-reset the phone. This is really upsetting and I don't know what to do.
