Has any one experienced this, the music app will be playing the music wither in a play list or just an album and the program stops. I do not get a force close prompt nor is the program running. It does not do it with the same songs it is purely random when it decides to stop as far as the music I am playing.
View 6 RepliesThis error sometimes disables access to my contact list (both directly through the dialer or through text messaging) for several minutes. I can delete contacts and add new contacts (although adding contacts sometimes results in the same crash). I have, on maybe two occassions, been able to successfully edit contact information through the contact list on my Photon, without this error appearing. But it has been several days since then. Yes, I've rebooted the phone several times without any effect on this problem. I've also killed the application through the task manager and then started the application again, also with no effect.

I've had this problem on and off, but lately it seems to be getting worseSome apps won't launch when I try to start them. I hit the icon and nothing happens. I know the pone can be slowed down when it's synching data and the round circle is in the bar at the tip, but this happens even when that isn't the caseIn the laswt couple of weeks, it's started happening even when I try to place phone calls. View 13 Replies View RelatedIt doesn't seem to matter what musiv player I am using but if I am moving around like walking, Music will speed up and slow down and the player will stop for a while and then start up. I thihk the stopping is happening when the Photon is acquiring data. Is there any way to prioritize the player so it wont stop? Does anyone else have an issue with the player speeding up? It doesn't speed up radically, just enough so that the music pitches up about a halt step. As a musician, this is terribly annoying.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got the Photon after having an Atrix for about 6 months i think this phone is great but I'm having an issue with the Media Link and Itunes, I can sync my playlists and actually see the songs with the music player but any song I try to play it says it can't read the format. I took a look at files info and they are in m4a format, isn't media link supposed to convert them?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to remove phone bloat: sprint wallet, sprint zone, playbooks, sprintID, google+ etc. Seems there is a multitude of pre-loaded apps which when I extend-press to access the option window the only options are Add to Home or Add to Group, Share & Uninstall are not available. I've turned off auto-update and I'm now receiving "notifications" every 3 - 4 days to update. Anyway to remove these or just kill them completely so they no longer attempt to update themselves?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAny app I try to download wont download. It just has a continuous downloading status but never actually downloads. Has anyone seen this problem before? I spoke to a sprint rep and she did a refresh but the same problem still persists. I even restarted the phone but still have the same issue. My internet and everything else works. The rep told me I can do a factory reset to see if that will fix the problem. I will take it to a sprint store but wanted to see if anyone else had this problem and fixed it without doing a hard reset.
View 15 Replies View RelatedOn my iPod I use regular in ear headphones with a 3.5 mm jack, but also have a dongle type thing in line with them so I can control the volume, advance songs, that kind of thing. Is there something for the Motorola phone like that? I have been looking all over. I use my phone while running and want to skip songs sometimes. I tried a few Bluetooth headsets and they allow this function, but none are comfortable or sound all that great.

I am not sure if it is an issue with Google Play Music app or what. I will post this message with Google and see if they can pinpoint the issue as well. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the Motorola Photon Q and so far I really like it. It is different navigating than my previous phone, though. I am currently using my old 2 gb sd card and want to get a 16 gb card, but can't figure out how to transfer my music files that I downloaded from Amazon MP3 cloud to my phone. It appears they are stored on internal storage, which I suppose is ok for now, but when I get a new card I want to store them on my larger 16 gb card. I can access them by going to settings,storage, audio, then complete action using files, device storage, and then they are listed as amazonmp3.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhenever I take a look at my battery usage on my Photon, I always see Music and Media rather high in the list. In fact when I checked just now Media was at 12% and Music was at 11%, 3rd and 4th in the list. (The phone's only been on for about 90 minutes.) Since both of these apps suck, I have other apps that I use for photos (QuickPic) and music (MixZing) and don't bother using the built in apps. It's bad enough that I can't remove these apps, but the fact that they're adding extra drain on the battery adds injury to insult. When I inspect the running apps, for Music I found AmgSyncService running which appears to be part of MotoBlur. Searching the web the only thing I was able to find was a similar question posted on the xdaDevelopers forum. I suspect there is a similar process running for photos as well, but it hasn't shown up in my list of running processes.
Other than manually killing the AmgSyncService process everytime I start the phone, is there any way to disable this process to prevent it from starting up?
So about half an hr ago i got a prompt to update my phone to (45.2.5.en.US) and it installed successfully, then I had problems with WiFi and so restarted my phone, now when I try to access any app that requires WiFi it seems as though it doesn't read it. The browser works fine, but any other app doesn't.
View 2 Replies View RelatedPlugged my Photon into my PC for the first time today, using the Phone Portal app (stock). As it popped up, it looked like any other Android/smartphone in that I could "see" it as a drive on my PC....look at/add/delete/manage data and folders.No biggie.But....Up pops the Motorola Media Link app for install on the PC (assuming the file to do so was on the phone and did this once it was connected to a computer). OK, so I install it to take a peek. Install was clean....it looked for and installed an upate of the Media Link app...and I saw that it was nothing more than a sync conduit for music/photos/etc.
Not wanting to sync anything, I simply "safely removed hardware" on the PC...unplugged and went to lunch. It was then that I noticed a bunch off icons missing from the home screens. My HTC Evo used to do that whenever you'd disconnect, because you'd been using the SD card as a drive. It would then re-initialize the card and poof, your icons would reappear. Not this one! They're gone-ski!They're still in the All Apps view....and certainly still on the phone/card because I can see them in settings>apps. If I look at the SD card view, they're all there.I did some rooting (sorry....snooping) around and found a few threads about this regarding Droid X, but none of the questions had been answeredI called Moto and they don't know what it is; "oh
is there any way to get rid of the black border that surrounds certain apps. The border plus the ads that are already in the app make it too small.

But, I tried the freebie version first to see if it made any difference. It did. I normally get a minimum of 8 hours of mid-level usage on my phone. J.D. has increased that by at least a couple of hours and doesn't seem to be having any of the goofiness associated with task killers.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have used app groups heavily on my Photon. They always worked great. This weekend I decided to do a factory reset. (My boot time was really really slow). After the FR I tried to set everything up just as it was before. But now I add apps to the app groups and after a little while, most of them disappear from the app group. The apps are all still there and visible in the All Apps view. But I put six app in an app group and a little while later there are only 2 or maybe 3 or none. I tried rebooting and that didn't work. I decided that something might have gone awry with the FR so I did another, but the problem remains.
Everything else with the FR went fine except one thing. The ROM has an older Google+ app with the older icon. I updated it, but the icon didn't change. I ran it and it is indeed the new app. But the old Icon remained. I went into Play Store and uninstalled the update and re-installed it. And when I try to open the app from the Play Store, it says the app can't be found. It works fine from the launcher (stock launcher) but not from the Play store. Then a few hours later, the icon changed to the new icon. This happened with both Factory Resets. It didn't happen to any other app. Everything else is fine... And my boot times are now much shorter.
Anyone have a problem with music skipping when playing off the Micro SD card? It's random, which eliminates the possibility of a bad file or corruption during the sync, and seems worse when the 4g function is turned on. Interestingly, the Photon is advertised as having 1GB of RAM, but the most I ever have available is 440MB.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Sprint manual says you can download music via Windows Media Player or MML , but once you load your music via Media Player, if you use then Motorola you will end up with two seperate files that will use your memory. From the Media player you will have a file called Music,and from Motorola you will have a file MML Mobile.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I am trying to sync music from Itunes to my Photon through the Motorola Media Link software I get a error message after all the music files have transfered. The message says that the MLL has stopped working. None of the music ends up on the phone.
I have updated the Motorla Media software and as far as I know my phone is up to date.
The default Motorola music app on the Photon took it upon itself to download the wrong album art for a number of my music tracks (which already had proper cover images to begin with). Is there any way to change the cover art, or delete the bad covers it downloaded?

If I'm listening to music (Winamp, the stock app, or Pandora) and a notification pops up, I hear the notification sound but afterward the volume of my music drops down a lot. Usually a reboot fixes it but not always.
