In recent days I've noticed a rather annoying quirk with the sound from my Photon. If I'm listening to music (Winamp, the stock app, or Pandora) and a notification pops up, I hear the notification sound but afterward the volume of my music drops down a lot. I'll turn the volume up, but as soon as the track changes my ears blow up when the volume level returns to what it was previously
View 2 RepliesSince the 2nd last firmware update my music will either not start or it will stop after 4 seconds of playing. This isn't my own music but the music that came with the device. I then try everything to get sound. I see the song playing I press play and pause and nothing.I reboot and everying is ok. Sometime rebooting does not work.

View 15 Replies View Relatedim trying to figure out whats wrong with my photon, its been almost a month and when i get a notification (email,text,ect) i dont find out untill hours after i recived it because my phone doesnt vibrate. It vibrates when i get a call and when im using the keyboard but not when i get a notification. I have the vibration for notifications turned on but it doesnt seem to affect anything. I dont get any notification vibration feedback when my phones on vibrate or its on sound.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use Spotify as my music app, every time I set a playlist going and skip the track, at the beginning of the next song either the sound volume drops slightly or a different EQ setting kicks in as the sound changes slightly, it happens within a split second of the song starting.
If I let the song play to the end and the next song comes on automatically it doesn't happen.
When I make calls or am called, they frequently cut out for no reason.This might have already been discussed before but I would like to find out if something can be done about that.

You cannot turn down the volume of notifications without turning down the volume of your call ringtone. It's such a basic thing to do, but I can't figure it out. I decided I'd load a ringtone of Silent or None but Verizon's LGG4 does not have that option, again very poor design. While trying to load another ringtone, I went to settings, apps, sound, and hit the small + sign to load a new ringtone and was greeted with another one of those "Do you want to use this action, or that app, or whatever" and then the option "always" or "Just once" and without thinking I chose "Always" now I can't get to the media browser? I tried to clear defaults but can't find the sound app that controls this? Where is this setting?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed I am not able to adjust the volume on a phone call while I am holding the phone to my ear. When I pull the phone away from my head and press the volume button down the phone hangs up.
1- Can't adjust volume on call while phone is being held to ear
2- Volume down button press causes phone to end call
SMS tone volume is set on high but still no sound when SMS arrives. I have to look at display constantly. Which settings should be changed how?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a non-us atrix with Bell Mobility.Everything works well except when I tried loading it with music and playing them.The play speed is too fast so it sounds wierd.I tried using the OEM player and a few other ones (Win Amp, Power Amo) but the results are the same.Si it does not appear to be a problem with the player.In addition, when I played a video (MP4), the video plays normally, but the audio sounds similarly wierd (i.e. with high pitch as if it is played at high speed).

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I turn car with Blue Tooth to listen to an audio book or the XM Radio app, the music app (That cam pre-installed on the Droid) starts without an invitation and plays over wanted audio. The app can't be removed or disabled. I "chatted with a Motorola Support rep., and was told to do a total reset. After taking a lot of time doing this, nothing changed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMA 1.6.6. N16 Playing music works ok but the first time this happened it was after 1 hour. Then I get a popup dialog saying "You must set a fit song". The music then skips through the song and then skips songs continually.
This happens everytime I workout. Today it happened after 20 minutes Since I have never set a fit song I tried to set one. I had to turn off the music.
This only started happening after the last update to the one shown above.
Motorola Defy connected to my car on bluetooth (Toyota Corolla) and when I switch the car off, plays music on phone every time.

Also the sleep in the display setting keeps going back to 30 seconds, no matter what minutes I select . Is this a bug that can be fixed with a update or is there something else I can do.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that the volume is low after last update, when i first got the phonw it was loud and clear. After the update i can hardly here the alamr anymore. My ringtones are low as well, even playing back music. Is anybody else having this issue, any suggestions?.
One more thing, i also tested it out, by going to the sprint store checking the floor model and comparing it to mine, it was way louder and didnt have the latest update.
Any bluetooth headset I pair with my photon is too loud. Yes, I turned the volume down on headset and phone. I know its the phone cause I have paired the headset(s) w/ other devices, and the volume will go down all the way. Tried an app (Volume Ace Free) and it did nothing. Bottom line is when media volume is set to minimum its still WAY too loud. This is not an issue w/ wired headphones.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the Motorola car dock, and when the phone is docked, the volume buttons do nothing. I want to turn up the volume on the phone becuase even when I trun my radio up all the way, the volume is still not loud enough.
If I undock the phone and just use the headphone jack, I can turn the volume up and down on the phone.
So for some reason, the dock disables the use of the buttons.
It seems that after one of the updates, the max speaker phone volume is much lower than before. I liked being able to turn it up, especially in the car dock.

I can connect using Moto Phone Portal over WiFi to Firefox 6.0.2 on the Mac, but picture downloads run at 175 BYTES PER SECOND, not the speed I'd expect when the WiFi antenna is 10 feet away.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhy does the "Updates Available" icon in the alert notification bar disappear if it isn't selected immediately? And once it's gone, how can I get it back? (This applies to all types of updates: Android system, service provider's software, and installed apps). The Android User Manual seems to address only relatively simple update-related questions, and I'm not sure whether this notification behavior is a general Android system characteristic, or just unique to Motorola phones, or only to the Photon.
Often, it's not practical or convenient to drop everything else and install updates immediately when the notification appears, e.g., if you're on a phone call, in the middle of writing a somewhat urgent text or email, changing the baby's diaper, etc. The user might especially want to wait until later to download and install updates that are quite large and time-consuming and those labeled "manual," which seem to require monitoring individually in order to accept terms of service, etc., vs. just being able to select "install all."because some of the updates are large and time-consuming, I'd like to be able to turn on 4G or wireless, if they're not already on. (And they usually aren't, to conserve battery power, as recommended by "Remy" in his excellent post on "Android Tips & Tricks.") But at least on the Photon, turning on 4G or Wireless often causes the update icon to disappear, and there doesn't appear to be any way to get it back.
True, the "My Apps" section of the Android Store supposedly tells you which apps have available updates, but it's much more time-consuming to have to connect to the store and check manually instead of just selecting the icon in your notification bar. Also, the App Store won't have info about system updates.BTW, even when you select "install all," you still need to monitor the installation closely. When the update process finishes, you usually get some notification, like "Updates successfully installed." But if your screen has timed out and is off when the update process finishes, you don't get any information about the updates, so you don't know whether they all installed successfully. (Maybe if your screen is off, you only get a notification when an update isn't successful -- but there's no way of knowing that until it happens!)
I came over when the Palm Pre faded away. So far I have found ways to tweak everything I thought needed tweaking. However, there is one thing I'd like to change that I haven't figured out.
Occassionally, such as when attempting to install an app for which there is insufficient space (not sure why I got that message, there was plenty of room), the phone will briefly popup a small message. However, this message is entirely too small, displayed too briefly, and for some reason fairly transparent. Even when I do notice it, I am rarely able to read it before it fades away.
Is there some way to configure this message to be more useful?
I have no notifications in the drop-down menu and the green notification LED won't stop flashing when the screen is off. If I do get a real notification and clear it, then light will go away until the next reboot. I've done two factory resets and no change. I took the phone into Sprint this morning after a reset and no apps installed and the tech verified the problem but after a few minutes on the computer, he told me this was a known software problem and he can't do anything about it. I have spent most of today troubleshooting this and searching the internet and have yet to find any other Photon user with the same problem. I've seen some other posts with other phones (android and blackberry), but nothing that looked to be widespread and nothing by Photon users. I did find a way around this by rooting and installing an app that takes control of the LED but I shouldn't have to do this and the app seems to be a battery drain. I've since got rid of the app, unrooted and tried flashing the 1FF-sunfire-user-2.3.4-4.5.1A-1_SUN-154_5-CM-release-keys-signed-Sprint-US.sbf (old software from August) and the problem was still there. I then let the phone take the OTA updates and the problem persists. I didn't have this problem until I did a factory reset on Friday trying to get rid of another problem with rebooting.

I had a downloaded notification tone from Zedge, but i deleted zedge and switched to a system tone after the problem started. I have taken battery out, still nothing. It makes sound on incoming phone calls and media, just texting.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my photon in July 2011. when I make calls I have repeated problems with people hearing me. They say my voice fades in and out or sounds like I am in an echo chamber. It doesn't matter where I am at, home, office, on the road. It happens to everyone. It started with my first photon. I was told an upgrade was coming to fix it. Upgrade provided no fix. Phone got run over (don't try this, it ain't that tough), new photon arrived, right out of the box, same problem. Sprint gave me another photon. As I drove out of the Sprint parking lot making my first call, same problem. If I plug my ear buds in, the problem immediatly goes away. Neither Sprint or Motorola have any answers. Does anyone have similar problem? Any fixes? I do not believe it is the phone but I have no ideas.
