Motorola Photon 4G :: Max Speaker Phone Volume Is Much Lower?
Nov 2, 2011It seems that after one of the updates, the max speaker phone volume is much lower than before. I liked being able to turn it up, especially in the car dock.

I use Pandora, internal music player or power amp. The only way for it to stop is by restarting completely.

Nov 3, 2011For the last week or so I've noticed, much to my embarassment, that sometimes the speaker is playing whatever music I'm listening to with my headphones plugged in. This is really frustrating in cubeland, as I hate to be a noisy neighbor, especially when it comes to sharing music. The fix is relatively simple, but temporary and annoying: restart the phone. This has happened every day I've used my headphones at work for the last week or two, and I'm getting tired of it.
So, my question to everyone is: Has this happened to you, and do you know if this is a software or hardware issue? Should I get this thing swapped out under warranty, or should I just wait for the next software update?
Motorola Photon 4G :: Speaker Sound Distorted And Buzzing
Dec 3, 2011Yesterday my sound on my Photon became distorted to the point of sounding like a distorted buzz. This includes system sounds and anything else that plays even when I pull out the battery and then boot into safe mode. I thought it may have been due to a bug in an update, but everything is up to date and I don't see any other complaints on this or any other forums. Oddly enough, everything sounds fine using headphones. Maybe it is a speaker/hardware failure, but that would seem very unusual. Everything else seems to be working OK.
For the record, here are the software versions running currently:
Android 2.3.4
Kernel 2.6.32.9

Feb 19, 2010My volume on my bold 9000 keeps dropping. I have done the fix where you press down right above the camera flash. This fixes the problem, but it is only temporary. After about 2 days the volume drops again to an almost inaudible level.

Apr 28, 2012I have had an iPhone 4S since November 2011, and in the last two weeks whenever I plug in either the Apple headphones or my Sennheiser headphones the volume in the music app is lower than usual, even though the volume bar is in the same place. My headphones are not broken, I have tried with three different pairs of operating headphones.
The only seemable way to fix this is to open Shazam, then go back to music. This brings the volume back to a normal level, until I either pause or skip the song, which takes it back to its lesser volume level.

BB Torch :: Volume For Both Speaker Phone And Handset Low?
Aug 13, 2010I have recently changed from the bold 9000 to the Torch 9800 and the volume on both the speaker phone as well as the handset seem to be much lower on the 9800. Is there any way to increase the volume other than the controls on the side of the phone. In options I went to enhance call audio but there were no settings for volume.

Mar 2, 2012I'm having several issues with my Motorola Photon 4G. The first problem and must frustrating problem is that from time to time my phone will reboot when a call ends (either a drop call or hang up). I've tried removing the SD card and turning off HAC but none of these suggestions resolve my problem. The second issue is that from time to time my phone will not ring even if I have full service. I have several Sprint phones (Epic 4G, iPhone, Transform) and if I leave them all on the same table in my home can call them from my house phone they all ring when I call them.
When I call my Photon it will only ring 3 out of 5 times. On my house phone the call does not go direct to voicemail. At my house all the phone signal strengths are maxed out. The third issue is that if I turn on the speaker phone my call gets very staticy. The only way for me to fix this issue is to hang up and all the party again (simply turning off the speaker phone does not resolve the problem). This problem happens 100% of the time.
Motorola Photon 4G :: Low Volume After Update
Nov 1, 2011I have noticed that the volume is low after last update, when i first got the phonw it was loud and clear. After the update i can hardly here the alamr anymore. My ringtones are low as well, even playing back music. Is anybody else having this issue, any suggestions?.
One more thing, i also tested it out, by going to the sprint store checking the floor model and comparing it to mine, it was way louder and didnt have the latest update.

Feb 23, 2012My xoom has been over heating in the lower right hand corner for the entire time I've had it. I was wondering if this is at all a common problem? I've sent it in for repair once already (preparing a second trip) and that was a waste of time cause NOTHING AT ALL seem to change. So now I get the feeling that this $600 piece of electronics is soon to be a paper weight.

I know its the phone cause I have paired the headset(s) w/ other devices, and the volume will go down all the way. Tried an app (Volume Ace Free) and it did nothing. Bottom line is when media volume is set to minimum its still WAY too loud. This is not an issue w/ wired headphones.

Aug 30, 2012I have the Motorola car dock, and when the phone is docked, the volume buttons do nothing. I want to turn up the volume on the phone becuase even when I trun my radio up all the way, the volume is still not loud enough.
If I undock the phone and just use the headphone jack, I can turn the volume up and down on the phone.
So for some reason, the dock disables the use of the buttons.

Aug 19, 2011I contacted technical support and they said that it was new and needed to charge overnight. So it charged overnight and it continued to shut down several times that day. It did it a few times on the morning of the 18th so I took it to the Sprint Store. They said it was a simple fix and that the SIM was causing the problem. They took the SIM out and restarted the phone and voila- right? WRONG, 10 minutes later I go to use the phone and it was off AGAIN. I took it right back to the store and they said that they forgot to do a factory reset without the SIM in the phone. So the did the reset. I refused to leave the parking lot until I knew it would not shut off. Like clockwork, within 15 minutes it was off again.
I demanded a swap and they gave me a different PHOTON. It was great for about 24 hours and today restarted by itself once and then a few minutes later just shut down again. I called Sprint and the rep actually told me to try putting a piece of folded paper between the battery and the back plate!!! I just paid a load for this phone and I shouldn't have to rig it with folded paper. What is the deal with these phones? Are they all like this or are there some that are actually functioning properly? Is there a specific lot number or part that causes it?

Oct 20, 2015After unlocking the phone from stand-by the brightness is noticeable lower than the one I set, without adaptive brightness on, and after a short period of time, usually under 30 sec, the brightness goes up to the level I set it, and stays like that as long as the display is on. This problem repeats randomly, but very often, maybe 80% of the cases. The difference in display brightness when this happens is probably 10% - 15% and is very annoying. I already did a factory reset and a fresh install via PC Companion with no results. The phone is 2 months old, no major software update until now so I can't tell if it's a software or hardware problem.
