View 4 RepliesI would like to know the official comment from Sony on the low in call volume of the X10. There are load & loads of people on the web complaining about the issue, on my X10, I can only hear a phone call if I am indoors in an extremely quiet location.. if I am outside, near a road etc I cant hear, and it is even worse on speaker phone. I would estimate the volume needs to be boosted by 50 to 100%, seriously the lowest volume of any phone I have ever owned.. which is a shame, as the rest of the phone is great.
Is there an official fix / patch in the works for the volume issue? or is this not being recognised as a widespread issue.. or is the hardward simply not able to do it?
It seems if I use "Poweramp", as a music player, I can adjust the EQ and boost the volume of Mp3's etc to a fairly decent level (much louder than the phone volume), so I'm sure it could be done with software...
I am only after an official Sony response, not people's opinion's, there are lots of other Posts like that, but I cant find any response from Sony to the issue.
There was an article Posted in August 2010 on xperiax10.net.. but I have heard nothing since. [URL]
When I am outside and I receive a call I can barely hear the person!! I've pushed the volume button up to 10 during a call but I still can barely hear a thing! I've had to resort to selecting loudspeaker to be able to hear anything. Obviosuly this isn't ideal!

View 8 Replies View RelatedHas anybody else noticed that when you are on the phone, you are unable to adjust the volume while the phone is next to your ear.. I have went through 3 bionics and all of them have had this issue, in order for me to adjust the volume during a phone call I have to pull it away from my ear, let the screen light up, and then it will let me change it..
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have had a white Z5 Compact for a week and have now noticed that the bottom speaker is much louder than the top, ruining the stereo effect. I am sure it did not come this way out of the box. I didn't notice until after the recent firmware update (32.0.A.6.152), but cannot know whether this is the cause of the problem. I went through the hassle of factory reset and the phone still has the problem. I haven't subjected the phone to any physical trauma at all and will be returning it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a verizon bold 9930 that I received last week, no third party apps besides what was preloaded on the phone. Yesterday, I noticed that when I answer phone calls I cannot hear the other person unless I put the phone into speakerphone mode. Is this a hardware issue?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI find the call volume very low even in a quiet environment. If outside, I find it very difficult to hear what my clients have said. One fact business people love blackberry is because it has got good call and ringtone volume.N900's ringtone volume is good, but the call volume is just too low. (I have already used the side button to max the call volume, the strange thing is, 50% and 100% make very little difference...)

View 5 Replies View Relateda while back my xperia mini started with this annoying (and weird ) habit to slowly decrease the volume on the left speaker when playing music. It starts out as normal balance but after a few songs the left is starting to go down to a very low level. Not muting it completely though. It doesn't replug the headphones or even restart the phone. When I give up and leave it for a while it returns to normal though...for a while. Do you think it's hardware or software based? Since it takes a while for the volume to go down I feel it can be difficult for a support to properly analyze it. I'm running stock android 2.1-update1. I've tried different music players but it stays the same.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Z5 compact while receiving a call has very loud ringtone volume only for about 1 second, than it drops by around 60%... The same issue occurs while listening to music on speakers, it is loud for 1 second than volume drops... It is not caused by any setting I think.
View 9 Replies View RelatedBlack 16GB Nexus 5 here. My in call volume using the earpiece is very very low since the 4.4.2 update. I have the volume maxed out and have already cleared cache, and even data reset once. Did not work at all.
The only way to use the phone making a call is to use a headset or be indoors in a very quiet room. Even then it's hard to hear the caller using the earpiece. I always have to use a headset for making calls.
I remember the in call volume being louder before the 4.4.2 update. After the update, however, the microphone functionality is improved and people can hear me better now (compared to 4.4.0 stock). However, it's hard for me to hear them.I just wanted to see if someone else faced this problem or whether this is a manufacturing defect in my phone.
I have just realized that when making/receiving calls, the volume is really soft even after I crank the in-call volume to 100%. The experience is as if the person on the other end of the line is covering the mic when talking (like a muffled sound).I did the service test (Menu-Back-Back-Menu-Back-Menu-Menu-Back) on the earphone, and the volume is way much louder at 100%. Is there anyway for me to reach a similar (as in the service test) volume level when making/receiving calls? I don't mind if the volume at 100% is too loud for my ear to handle, I can always adjust it to a lower volume. But, when the volume is still soft even at 100%?
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor those few of us who actually use the RAZR to make phone calls, ;-) have you noticed a change in the sound volume of the ear speaker? On mine, it seems to have become quieter, and even with the volume all the way up I can't hear callers as well as before.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe in-call and ringer volume on X10 is way too low, I can hardly hear the other party on a call at a shopping centre or food court. This is very frustrating as making a phone call is the most basic function of a phone but X10 fail in this aspect badly. I am sure a firmware upgrade can increase the volume on X10, its just a matter of whether SE will implement it....can everyone who had low in-call and ringer volume problem of your X10 report here?
View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently i have noticed a strange problem with my X10. During a call the volume drops to practically minimum and i have to boost it up again only to have it dropping which is a huge inconvenience. I tried to byepass this by installing "Volume lock" while this helps it does help in keeping the volume at a fixed level it does not address the root cause of the problem.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought two X8 and they are facing the same problem. The in call volume is low. I have to pressed the side key to higher the volume when making call. After call the volume is back to low. That mean every time a incomming or out going call I have to press the side key to higher the volume. I install volume application to adjust the volume and it work fine but when I connect and unplug the USB connecting phone to PC the in call volume become low.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn every single call the phone resets the in call volume to max. I set the volume to the lowest in every call but phone resets it back to maximum volume in next call automatically.
It's a horrible nuisance to reduce the volume each time and my ear now hurts badly. Though I reduce the volume each time, the first one or two sounds are still loud before volume reduction.
Whenever I make or receive a call my volume is automatically reset to very low. It doesn't matter what volume the phone is, I could make a call adjust the volume to max. Make another call and it's low again. So low you can barely hear anything. It's quite frustrating.

View 7 Replies View RelatedJust noticed that the speaker volume on my 3GS is a fair bit lower than it should be. My daugher's 3GS is much louder. Actually hard to hear the ringer when outside. Volume is set to full. Could it be dirt in the speaker grill? Headphone volume is fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have problems with speakers and headset. Even at highest level it's sometimes hard to hear. For example GPS indications in the car. But also with Headset, if people are talking nearby I can't even hear the music! Is there some kind of security switch?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just bought my E72 a day ago and tried to listen to one of the default videos. Had the volume level on max, even then the sound/music is not /barely audible. Moreover the Talking display also is not actually loud enough to be able to hear from a hands distance.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought a Nokia Lumia 920 three weeks and I am not disappointed. So far, other than problems that will be corrected in the next update, I am experiencing a low volume, when talking with someone in the loud speaker. Even at 30/30, I have to become closer to the phone to ear what the other person is saying. The problem seems to be related to the calls in the using the loudspeaker only because when listening to music or videos the loudspeaker volume seems to be ok.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got a Lumia 950 about 4-5 days ago. I've updated to the latest version and have already loaded it up with music from my MicroSD.
I've noticed that when I play music at full blast (30/30 volume), the volume seems to drop a little, and then slowly picks back up. This repeats about 3-4 times per song. I tend to listen to music in the shower, and I have realized the drop in volume for two days now.
Experienced putting music aloud and noticing the drop in volume from the speaker, even though it is set to 30/30. Voltage issue maybe?
Noticed the speaker volume for ringtones and music and such is much quieter than the Lumia 928? On volume 25 or so it sounds as loud as my 928 at like 16 or 17...
View 24 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I have new 3gs iphones with AT&T and I've noticed over the past 2-3 days my speaker volume has decreased to a point it's very noticeable compared to hers. I've made sure all volume levels are set to max on both phones, called a recorded msg and we both can hear a big difference between the two phones whether on speaker on not. In fact it's getting hard for me to hear someone unless I have volume set to max where 3 days ago and back I had volume set to ~ 75% of max. I've read about cleaning speaker covers, etc. but not sure if I should do this. My iphone is appx. 6 weeks old and hers in less than 4 weeks. Not sure if there is some setting I may have 'messed' with or not.
