I noticed I am not able to adjust the volume on a phone call while I am holding the phone to my ear. When I pull the phone away from my head and press the volume button down the phone hangs up.
1- Can't adjust volume on call while phone is being held to ear
2- Volume down button press causes phone to end call
I've had the phone since Monday and have not had a pleasant experience in terms of signal. I manage a little over 300 lines for my company so I know what our signal is and isn't in places. All of our phones typically get great 4G signal and 3G signal around here and especially inside the building. Since I've had the Bionic though it's been really flaky as a lot of others have mentioned. 4G just seems to drop a lot. I've done a lot of speed tests (both on the phone and also tethered to a laptop) and the biggest inconsistency is the upload speed. I am getting 0.05mbps on my upload, but closer to 5-6 on download. The phone itself has been fine, all apps work, speeds are good when browsing actually works and the network doesn't drop. I called Verizon today and he had me check the box for data roaming which was not on by default. So far the signal has been pretty solid where it doesn't drop but it didn't make any changes to my speeds.
I have a Thunderbolt here that gets 20 megabit plus on both uploads and downloads so I know speeds in this area are fine. The Verizon tech pointed me to an update in November that *should* address something with 4G but he wasn't clear on what exactly that was. One other issue I've been having is Wifi. It takes a long time to detect that I am close to my access point. Are others seeing the same issues with uploads that I am or do I possibly had a device with a bad radio?
Typically when I am connected to wireless the 3g still shows but in white. Now when connected to wireless the 3g drops and only comes on when I turn off the wireless. Any ideas if this is normal after the update?
I was in KC over the weekend and was having massive issues with Data drops, but when i am back home in Dallas i rarely have issues. Has anyone else noticed the same?
I bought my first Bionic, on Oct28th, had the data issues from day one. Finally after a month and several hours of phone calls to Verizon and Motorola, replaced handset. New handset, new SIM, still same issues. Loosing data, loosing connectivity, etc. I have always used Motorola from the Startac, Droid X, Droid X2,etc. Really disappointed with Verizon. I am very data dependant with my job.
I installed the ICS yesterday. Now the Vibrate on touch in the sound setting drops out after five minutes or so.This happens every time I go back to turn it on. Also the sleep in the display setting keeps going back to 30 seconds, no matter what minutes I select . Is this a bug that can be fixed with a update or is there something else I can do.
I have a droid turbo. I work in the city so there are cell towers everywhere but my office is in the middle of a building and I have no windows. My calls get dropped or cut in and out unless I turn off the advanced call feature. Other people with different phones have no problems in my office. Can I leave this feature off all the time? The one day I did leave it off and I was not at work and I tried to make a call and got a message saying the call could not connect so I don't know if it will create other problems. I usually have two bars in my office and 4G lte. We have Wi-Fi but are not allowed to use it.
I just purchased the Bionic and am upset that the volume levels are so low compared to other Motorola phones I have had in the past (i.e. W755, K1M, RAZR, etc.). in noisy situations both the earpiece and ringer volume levels are too low to overcome the background noises even when set on the highest settings. Has this issue been sent to the development team for resolution? I would hope that the speaker devices audio driver components are capable of supporting higher dB outputs and that the problem can be resolved with a software refresh. This is my first smartphone; so I have a lot to learn.
Has anybody else noticed that when you are on the phone, you are unable to adjust the volume while the phone is next to your ear.. I have went through 3 bionics and all of them have had this issue, in order for me to adjust the volume during a phone call I have to pull it away from my ear, let the screen light up, and then it will let me change it..
A few weeks back I noticed that the call and music volume on my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone ICON) seemed to stuck at half-volume or less, despite appearing in the volume settins to be at full. This makes the Bluetooth unusable for phone conversations except in the quietest of rooms.
I have reset the ICON on numerous occasions -- blew the pairing off the Bionic (and did a hard reset) but to no avail. Nothing seems to bring the volume back up to the way it was.
The Apps button (lower right button) on the home screen is different than on the DX. On the DX it always (almost) launched the "All Apps" group. On the Bionic it launches the most recently viewed group. Since I have set up groups on my home screen this renders the Apps button useless since it is always showing me the last viewed group. Now I have to dedicate a home screen icon to a real "All Apps" group. The old DX functionality was much better.
I just put a hard case on my Bionic and I cant actually get it off that easily, so my question is when my phone freezes is there a battery pull shortcut like Power + volume up/down or something?its already happened once... had to take 2 spoons and a screwdriver to get the case open. and id rather not keep doing that so i dont break the case becasue its really good for my Bionic.
In the past - namely when I owned the Droid X - while in a call, I was able to press the volume up and volume keys successfully to adjust the in-call volume while I held the phone to my ear. Albeit the screen was turned off, the volume adjustment responded properly. I find now with the Bionic that I cannot adjust the volume while the phone is against my ear and that I actually have to move the phone far enough away from my face in order for the screen to turn back on and allow for the volume to be adjusted.
This causes me to miss part of the conversation, Matt can this be adressed or is there a setting I am missing?
I've had my Bionic about a week. The 4 soft buttons along the bottom of the screen (is there a common term for these?) are not always lit up. They all light up or they all don't, it's not just one of them. They're lit when I wake up the display, they'll go off after a while, sometimes just stay off briefly, other times stay off for a while. Is there any protocol for when the lights should be on or off? Is this a defect I should be concerned about?
I have an unrooted Bionic that I want to be able to control the sound a little more. Some music or other audio files are quiet, so I have to turn up my radio to hear it well. This causes a problem when I'm using navigation at the same time, because when it tells me to turn it's super loud. Is there a way, or an app out there to adjust the volume of my navigation separate from my music player/pandora?
I was in a meeting this am waiting for an important business call. The phone was sitting on the table. I got a text telling me people were trying to contact me and I didn't answer the phone! It didn't ring. I've had it set for CDME/LTE because I live/work in a saturated 4G area. For some reason the phone read 3G with 4bars lit.No call. After multiple text messages the call came through. I've had people complain before that they've called when I've had the phone sitting next to me at work and it hasn't rung, and at other times it rings just fine.
upgraded from barrage to bionic :) With barrage you could set missed call or text alerts via sound settings>alert sounds. We can't find this on Bionic.
Normally when you are on a call and put the phone close to your ear, the screen goes dark because you are on a call, but when you move it away the screen comes back on. My screen when I am on a phone call stays dark as soon as I answer it. It does not come back on when you move it away from my ear, and to get it back on I have to press the wake button. Additionally, I am unable to answer call waiting either- when another call is coming in, even pressing the wake button does not wake the phone until after the second caller hangs up.
1. Volume button: On my phone the volume button feels loose and wiggles. If you put your finger on the button, you can wiggle it (move it) up or down or side to side.It is not in any danger of breaking off or falling off as I looked at a pic of a droid dissembled and it shows that the button has little tabs on each end like the home button of an iPhone. But it is still very annoying. Is this normal on the Moto Milestone/Droid? or a sign of a future problem. The button works as it should but feels loose.
2. SMS: I bought the Telus version of the Milestone and I have configured it for AT&T and can browse on the internet with 3G, Edge and wifi but I cannot get or send text messages. I get no error but nobody gets them or when friends send me texts I don't get them ether. Is there some sort of configuration I need to do like put AT&T SMS number into it? I am scratching my head on this
When my BlueParrott Xpressway headset is connected to my Bionic and I answer a call using my headset, 50% of the time I get a loud blast of static that lasts anywhere from 4-10 seconds. After the static blast, the headset works just like it did with my old Devour. I also get the same static blast about 30% of the time when I try to use voice commands. I have tried taking calls in several locations, thinking I was getting some type of "noise" from something else, but I still got the static blast.
Has anyone else seen some white distortion across the screen right above where you swipe? Its really noticeable on bright backgrounds. I thought my screen was just getting old but when they replaced my phone because of the restart issue(didn't know it was on OS bug) it was still there! I am also having an issue where my volume buttons stop working about every three days, I have to restart the phone to fix it. This has happened with my old one and the replacement.Adroid version 2.3.3System version 4.5.596.mb870.verizon.en.usmeid a00000227b76bf
Does anyone else notice a delay in volume adjustment when you try to raise or lower the volume via the side buttons while playing music? my razr seems to hate doing so, the media volume bar will appear and disappear several times before the volume is raised all the way. my droid 2 took only about a second of holding the up button, holding the up button on my razr doesnt move the volume more than one or two clicks.
Over the past three days, when I place or receive a call the person on the other line cannot hear my voice. When I dial out I can hear the person on the other line however my voice in inaudible. Whene I toggle back and forth between speaker ON and speaker OFF the other person can barely hear my voice when the speaker is on...but not at all when it is off. When I check my system in the Setings>About section I confirm my system is up-to-date. I have voice privacy de-selected (did not notice any difference).
I have had my phone for over two weeks. I've begun to notice that the phone doesn't ring when I get a phone call. Sometimes a particular call won't even register as missed; other times the call just goes to Voicemail
I have found that the earpiece volume after the JB update, when you pick up a call is very loud and can't be lowered unless you rock the volume buttons during the call. Even if you leave the volume low during the call, on any subsequent calls the volume reverts back to being very lound and you have to do it all over again. I didn't have this issue on ICS. I did notice it on the leaked OTA before the official OTA also. When I reverted back to ICS after the leak and before the official OTA, the issue fixed itself.
In recent days I've noticed a rather annoying quirk with the sound from my Photon. If I'm listening to music (Winamp, the stock app, or Pandora) and a notification pops up, I hear the notification sound but afterward the volume of my music drops down a lot. I'll turn the volume up, but as soon as the track changes my ears blow up when the volume level returns to what it was previously
When I make calls or am called, they frequently cut out for no reason. This might have already been discussed before but I would like to find out if something can be done about that.
My only "complaint" is that whenever a call comes in or when I make a call, it always has it on the phonespeaker and not over the car dock audio connected to the radio. I have to press the speaker button to turn it off each time.way to have it default to the speaker being off?
Does anyone know of any surefire way to transfer files to and from the Bionic to a windows 7 PC?
I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa. Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
