I just put a hard case on my Bionic and I cant actually get it off that easily, so my question is when my phone freezes is there a battery pull shortcut like Power + volume up/down or something?its already happened once... had to take 2 spoons and a screwdriver to get the case open. and id rather not keep doing that so i dont break the case becasue its really good for my Bionic.

View 7 Replies View RelatedOn my Bionic, when I put it into the standard dock the dock applicaiton normally starts. Sometimes after I have needed to access a couple of applications without taking the phone out of the dock... the dock application will not come back up without removing the phone from the dock completely. Obviously I don't want to have to do that every time. Is there a way to create a shortcut to the dock application? Also, the last update is overriding the dock application screen timeout?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI last used my Bionic around 1:00 PM today. It timed out and I put it in my case. Move the clock forward to 3:00 PM. I pull it out of the case at the dentist office to kill some time before my appointment and it was very warm and would not power on. Thinking it may be the BSOD issue that I have experienced twice already, I did a battery pull. To no avail. Hooked up to a charger when I got back to work and still nothing. I attempted to capture a debug report for Matt but I believe the battery was completely drained. If I cant get it to start up and have to return it what personal data is on the internal storage?

I put it my hip pouch and when I got it out in the car about 5 minutes later it had powered off and will not respond to the power button.I have reseated the battery a few times, including leaving it out for 8 hours. I tried another battery in the store but no change. I have tried the power button with one or both of the volume buttons pressed. To no avail.There is no response from it when it is connected to a charger but if I connect it to a PC USB cable with the battery removed I get a solid white notification LED. This is the only response I get of any kind but keeps me hoping that something is alive in there!!
Just to reiterate the phone was not dropped or anything, nor had it done any s/w updates as I have it set to update only when on WiFi, which it was not.Verizon are sending a replacement but I have a load of data and info and of course most of that is on the internal memory and I won't be able to recover it. Since I am an engineer working with software you wouold assume that I would have had it fully backed up as I do with the devices I work on .... but I kept meaning to get to that!! Please no responses of "You should have had it backed up". I know that and right now that won't help!!Does anyone have any ideas about forcing a reset that might get it to power up? I notice behind the battery cover that there are 4 open pins about half way up the case on the right (when looking from the back). I didn't know if these have any reset functionality
Purchased the Bionic and several accessories including the car dock today. When I opened the car dock package, I discovered that the way the Bionic dock is made requires a special micro USB to regular USB cable in order to be able to power the phone while it is in the dock.
This cable is shown in the owners manual for the dock, but was not included in my package. Instead, I got a cable suitable only for plugging the audio from the Bionic headphone jack to the aux input on the car stereo.
Did anyone else get the Bionic car dock? If so, did you get the power / audio cable described in the owners manual or just the audio cable I mention above? I will probably go discuss with Verizon tomorrow too, but just wanted to know if anyone here knows what was supposed to be in the car dock package.
5.5.893 Lost connectivity. I could not get Wi-Fi or 4G. I have been doing restarts instead of battery pulls and that has been working until today. It totally locked up on the Power Off Shutting Down screen. I tried to force it off by pushing the power, up/down volume buttons and nothing happened. That may not be the correct procedure, I only find that to be a starting procedure after shutdown. I pulled the battery and it restarted fine. I also had missed a call while it was locked up because I had a voicemail after restart. I have been thinking of getting the RAZR only because it is slimmer. Am I comparing apples to oranges? What would I have to do if I couldn't pull the battery?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just purchased the Bionic and am upset that the volume levels are so low compared to other Motorola phones I have had in the past (i.e. W755, K1M, RAZR, etc.). in noisy situations both the earpiece and ringer volume levels are too low to overcome the background noises even when set on the highest settings. Has this issue been sent to the development team for resolution? I would hope that the speaker devices audio driver components are capable of supporting higher dB outputs and that the problem can be resolved with a software refresh. This is my first smartphone; so I have a lot to learn.

View 8 Replies View RelatedA few weeks back I noticed that the call and music volume on my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone ICON) seemed to stuck at half-volume or less, despite appearing in the volume settins to be at full. This makes the Bluetooth unusable for phone conversations except in the quietest of rooms.
I have reset the ICON on numerous occasions -- blew the pairing off the Bionic (and did a hard reset) but to no avail. Nothing seems to bring the volume back up to the way it was.
I noticed I am not able to adjust the volume on a phone call while I am holding the phone to my ear. When I pull the phone away from my head and press the volume button down the phone hangs up.
1- Can't adjust volume on call while phone is being held to ear
2- Volume down button press causes phone to end call
How do I get my battery notification to come up when the battery is full?? I know it use to do that but now I can't find where it went to?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn the past - namely when I owned the Droid X - while in a call, I was able to press the volume up and volume keys successfully to adjust the in-call volume while I held the phone to my ear. Albeit the screen was turned off, the volume adjustment responded properly. I find now with the Bionic that I cannot adjust the volume while the phone is against my ear and that I actually have to move the phone far enough away from my face in order for the screen to turn back on and allow for the volume to be adjusted.
This causes me to miss part of the conversation, Matt can this be adressed or is there a setting I am missing?

Some music or other audio files are quiet, so I have to turn up my radio to hear it well. This causes a problem when I'm using navigation at the same time, because when it tells me to turn it's super loud. Is there a way, or an app out there to adjust the volume of my navigation separate from my music player/pandora?

I dont believe its a faulty battery as I have a second battery and will have the same problem with that one.Yesterday I hardly used my phone. I was at home ( which is in a weak signal area) and when I checked the phone at around 8pm it was dead. Off with no charge left. Started the day with an overnight charge.
If the problem is an overactive app how can I find it and remove?
and if so...is there a way to turn off 4G for most of the time and turn it back on if I am doing something that requires a lot of download time etc.

When I got off the flight, my phone wouldn't power up, so I found an outlet and found that I had no power. I know I powered it off, and so why would it be out of juice when it had battery left when I powered down?

Previously (after 12 or more hours of uptime) I'd typically always have Display as the highest %. Now it's always Android OS. Right now I'm at 16 hours on battery and my Android OS is 64% at 44 min. My Display is only 7 min.
All the same apps since before .893 and no new ones. Factory reset has made no difference in this. if this is something known and to be addressed in .901 ?

I updated the OTA update early today and since then the battery level has been going down at almost 10% every 30 - 40 mins. Following is the list in my battery usage queue. This is after I did a system reset and left my phone without any new apps (except for facebook).
Display 30%
Android System 17%
com.motorola.contacts 12%
Android OS 9%
com.motorola.home 8% ....
I am planning to charge it to 100% and then see how it behaves. Will keep this thread posted with stats from my phone.
I've tried holding down the power and volume buttons while it's plugged into the USB, but nothing happens.

All pins okay in the phone and battery is sound yet phone will unpredictably lose power.Support recommended a Factory Data Reset to "refresh the power system inside the phone" and I'm uncertain about doing this even though all of my apps are backed up on the SD card.

But I'm "HEARING" that LTE introduces a significanly fastert battery Drain. I currently have a DROID X and am able to get though mots of a day w/o having to recharge - minimal Phone use (maybe 4 calls a day), mostly web browsing, social networks, messaging, etc.
