I am going to purchase another battery for my Bionic so I can swap batteries when I am running low. Is there a dock or something I can purchase that will allow me to charge just the battery? So I can be using my phone whilst charging a separate battery at the same time?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI finished installing ICS 3 hours ago. The problem was that my battery died during the time it was updating media database. Now, the battery will not charge. It says at 5%. If I am using my phone at all (i.e. just making folders) it heats up and dies/turns off. I've tried 2 different batteries and 2 different chargers with the same results. Also- 3 hours later and I still have no contacts and many apps no longer work (google voice).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my Bionic since the first week it came out, and, while I generally love the phone, I have had just about every documented problem in existence; I'm fairly sure the employees at my local Verizon store just think I'm trying to scam them into giving me a new phone. Originally, I had the usual data and service connectivity issues-while this was annoying, and did lead to getting me lost in rural Alabama, it seems to have been resolved as I haven't had problems with that in nearly 2 weeks. Then I had the random and frequent power off/black screen of death issues, where even battery pulls wouldn't work. The guy at the Verizon store did a factory reset and everything seemed to be fine for all of 2 weeks. Starting today, my phone will not charge at all. I have used 4 different cables, including the stock USB one that came with the phone, and it will not charge past 5 or 10 percent, and it takes a good hour to get that far. I've also tried charging it in multiple outlets, on my laptop, and using a car charger. Same thing. This is obnoxious, to say the least. To complicate matters, the black screen of death has returned with a vengeance. As of me writing this, I cannot get my phone to respond at all, again, on any charger. I've tried multiple battery pulls, and letting it charge in excess of 30 minutes before attempting to power on, and nothing is working. Every so often I'm lucky enough to get the phone to turn on, just to have it turn back off within 20 minutes or so, all the while remaining at 5% battery. I paid for the insurance from Verizon, but there's no way I'm paying $90 for a replacement phone when I've done nothing to damage the phone-it's been in a case since the first week after I bought it. I'm going back to the Verizon store tomorrow, and unless some miracles occur before then, I'll just refuse to leave without either a new phone, or the RAZR.

My phone now no longer charges past 90% and the touch screen is almost completely unresponsive while plugged in the wall. Obvioulsy the charger is not compatable with the phone but how do i get it back to 100%
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen my Bionic is on the charger that came with the phone, the touchscreen acts totally erratically when trying to use it. If I'm trying to type a text message, it randomly hits letters, backspaces, etc. Same thing for trying to scroll and select stuff. However, the phone charges just fine. When I use the charger that came with my OG Droid dock, the phone is fine. Touchscreen works perfect. Same goes with the Moto car charger I have.
Assuming it was a bad charger, I spoke with Motorola chat online and they agreed to send me a new charger. I received it today (although it seems it's a different type of charger. It's not the USB cable with a wall adaptor, but an old school charger where the cable is permanently attached to the wall adaptor) but the phone seems to be doing the same thing (although it's not as severe as it was with the original charger that came with the phone).
My only "complaint" is that whenever a call comes in or when I make a call, it always has it on the phonespeaker and not over the car dock audio connected to the radio. I have to press the speaker button to turn it off each time.way to have it default to the speaker being off?

I dont believe its a faulty battery as I have a second battery and will have the same problem with that one.Yesterday I hardly used my phone. I was at home ( which is in a weak signal area) and when I checked the phone at around 8pm it was dead. Off with no charge left. Started the day with an overnight charge.
If the problem is an overactive app how can I find it and remove?
I just had this happen yesterday. I was getting on a flight and powered off my phone. I had about 40% when I powered down. When I got off the flight, my phone wouldn't power up, so I found an outlet and found that I had no power. I know I powered it off, and so why would it be out of juice when it had battery left when I powered down?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSince .893 I've seen the % of battery used by 'Android OS' to be significantly higher than before. Previously (after 12 or more hours of uptime) I'd typically always have Display as the highest %. Now it's always Android OS. Right now I'm at 16 hours on battery and my Android OS is 64% at 44 min. My Display is only 7 min.
All the same apps since before .893 and no new ones. Factory reset has made no difference in this. if this is something known and to be addressed in .901 ?
Anyone know of any cases that fit the droid bionic with the extended battery added on?

I updated the OTA update early today and since then the battery level has been going down at almost 10% every 30 - 40 mins. Following is the list in my battery usage queue. This is after I did a system reset and left my phone without any new apps (except for facebook).
Display 30%
Android System 17%
com.motorola.contacts 12%
Android OS 9%
com.motorola.home 8% ....
I am planning to charge it to 100% and then see how it behaves. Will keep this thread posted with stats from my phone.
Former OG user. Ran WIFI at home 24x7. Typically, wifi averaged about 2-3% of battery drain.
Got a Bionic this week, running Airplane mode at home , wifi on, disabled sleep policy. Look at these stats:
I have mine set (checked) and ringer is on (not silent or vibrate) but I never get a notification sound when 100% charged.

But I'm "HEARING" that LTE introduces a significanly fastert battery Drain. I currently have a DROID X and am able to get though mots of a day w/o having to recharge - minimal Phone use (maybe 4 calls a day), mostly web browsing, social networks, messaging, etc.

I have the extended battery and it seems the only way to get a new one is to buy another battery. My back door barely stays on. Also, are there any plans on marketing skins for the external battery? This would make the phone feel more solid and protect the bezel from scratches.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just put a hard case on my Bionic and I cant actually get it off that easily, so my question is when my phone freezes is there a battery pull shortcut like Power + volume up/down or something?its already happened once... had to take 2 spoons and a screwdriver to get the case open. and id rather not keep doing that so i dont break the case becasue its really good for my Bionic.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI got the battery dock on launch day.this morning I realized the battery issues I've been having are due to the dock not fully charging any of the batteries I have put into it! The dock charges them to 90% most of the time--even if they are in the charger for over 9 hours. I just discovered this problem this morning after removing an extended battery after 9 hours of charge, to find it only at 90%. I had the same issue the first day I bought the extended battery and had to complete the charge inside the phone. I also had been having trouble getting the standard batteries fully charged.
I'm going to exchange it at Verizon this morning, but I'm wondering if a new one will be any better.I use a Battery Indicator widget which shows the voltage--that helps me determine precisely how much charge is in each battery. The battery dock barely gets the batteries charged up to 4.1 volts, and sometimes less.they should be charged more than that, along with showing "100%" on the phone's status, of course.
I've been using my Bionic for about 24 hrs now (pretty heavy useage) and only 3 items show up in the "Battery and Data Manager":
Southwest Airlines App (96%)
Cell Standby (2%)
Phone Idle (2%)
That's it. I've used about 30 different apps and I've had WiFi on and off, I've been on LTE and switched to CDMA only for a bit. I've tried out the GPS, used Google Talk, the browser and a bunch of other stuff that I know takes up battery life and I want to know what is killing the battery? Is there a fix for the Battery and Data Manager or somewhere else on the phone I can look for this info?
Obtained my Droid3 two weeks ago and I'm now finding that it will not charge.Long story short: I did not charge my device for 2 days straight, upon complete epletion of the battery's power I hooked it upto the wall charger and noticed that the screen turned on with the droid symbol and subsequently the charging icon. I left it to charge, and after a while when it was upto 15% I attempted to turn it on by pressing the power button (without holding it down), which caused the screen to go black and ceased the charging.ow whenever I try to charge the device via the wall charger, the white charging LED (between the microUSB and miniHDMI inputs) turns on occasionally and remains there for an hour, after which it goes off again. When I try to charge via the computer the same thing happens, except after 45min or so of charging, the device repeatedly connects and disconnects from the computer USB (the usb connection and disconnection sounds ping repeatedly until I unplug the device). This also happens when I try and turn on the device while charging via USB.
Normally after 45min of charging from the computer the device will turn on, with the Droid logo appearing and system activated. Now it will not turn on at all.I have tried removing the battery from the device for at least a min and then recharging, I've also tried removing and re-inserting the battery while the Droid3 is connected to the charger to no avail. To replicate the situation, I've left the battery without charging for a period of 48 hours, and then tried to charge it again via wall charger; same problem: the white LED turned on for about an hour and then went out. The device did not turn on this time. My suspiscions are on the battery..The phone is a great piece of hardware and I've grown to love it, yet I had honestly no idea it would be susceptible to such trivial conditions 3 weeks out of the box. I've ordered an extended battery just in case
I bought the extended battery - P893. It was fully charged when conneected to my phone. My phone had @ 10% batter life left. The extended charger bumped the charge up to 60% with no extraneous processes running. The delivered cusomt smart action for the extended battery was activated. That seemed a bit low given the product description and mention on the boards of delivery two full charges. I fully recharged the battery. When my phone was depleted to 20% I connected the extended battery again. The charge was brought up to 60%. Their was no charge left in the battery extender.

Recently, my phone has been randomly shutting off and the only way to turn it back on is to remove the battery. It has also happened when the phone is on and I am charging it. My husband's phone has not randomly shut off at any time. I have downloaded a few apps which include Accuweather, Go SMS pro and PicSpeed Wallpaper. I also inserted my micro SD card from my old phone into the new phone which I just removed to see if the phone will randomly shut down. I also do not have the pocket detector on.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm lucky that I live in an area where I have pretty consistent 4G service. My battery life with my Bionic seemed to be improving over time and prior to yesterdays update I was getting a good 12+ hours of regular life with a few bluetooth phone calls and regular push emails and by 7pm I would be at 40%. I thought that was pretty decent. Today after 4.5 hours I was down to 50% and now after 6.hours and 33 minutes I'm at 30%. In that interim period I have not made any phone calls, nor played any games, nor used the phone for anything other than checking my status of apps and battery life.
The one change I did notice was "wakelock" with the " " marks on the word included on the list of things using battery. When I queried this forum as to what this is, not an app I uploaded to the phone, I found out it is something that Moto added as a power management tool. There is no way for us that I can tell to manipulate this tool. I have a problem with having a tool put on my device that slows my battery and I can't either delete it or manipulate it. I won't root my phone.
Is it me or does it seem that the battery graphic on the notification bar is not telling the true story? The phone (in settings) and widgets say 70% but the icon is in no way close to 3/4 full. It looks more like 90%. It always looks fuller then the battery truly is. I do understand that 70% can be anywhere between 70-79 but that's not close to what it shows on top. It's like Apple and the signal bars and how they showed higher then reality.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI received a Verizon "CLND" I've had issues with it charging. Not with battery drain or charge time(when it does charge). Occasionally when I plug my d4 in, to charge I receive no response from the battery icon nor on the lock screen. Other times I plug it in it charges just fine. Things I've tried: wipe cache partition via recovery menu, factory reset via settings>privacy>factory reset>erase internal memory, factory reset via recovery menu then wipe cache partition, safe mode, charge while off, different USB, different outlet, different adapter (part that plug into the wall that you plug the USB into), charge at work, charge via Xbox,PC, and car charger. All micro USB's, adapters and car charger is legit Motorola products adapter and USB are factory products received with purchase of d4 and RAZR. I did notice when the device is off the moment I plug the USB into the phone the notification led flashes green once (thinking of the beep codes on a PC). I am unsure as to what might be causing this issue I would love to get this resolved without having another "CLND " or sending it in for repairs
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a wifi only Xyboard 10.1 that has in the last couple of weeks developed the won't charge issue. I've read through the forums and some say it's the battery. It seems to be a micro usb port issue in my case at least. I can prop the cord just so and get a charging indication but it never seems to charge in actuality, rarely going above 30%.

I would like to go in to Car Mode without putting the phone on the mount. While in the car I made some settings default, like the Music, and I would like to undo this but can't find a way to do change it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs I was texting, a message popped up stating that my phone storage was full. I stopped and checked the storage and memory space to see that they were perfectly fine. I went back to send another text and the message popped up again, the message didn't send and when I tried to access my texting again, it force closed until I rebooted the phone. I am using the stock messaging app, but a different home launcher. I have not previously had problems with this in the past using this same launcher, and only had 38 conversations going (all with only a few texts in each). Does any have any idea as to the reason for this and how I could solve this issue?
