I know that in the camera there is a setting to save your pictures and videos to either the internal memory or the SD card, how can you save other things to the card instead of the phone or is there even a way to do so? like pictures you save from texts, Zedge, and music files etc...

I just got the Motorola Photon Q and so far I really like it. It is different navigating than my previous phone, though. I am currently using my old 2 gb sd card and want to get a 16 gb card, but can't figure out how to transfer my music files that I downloaded from Amazon MP3 cloud to my phone. It appears they are stored on internal storage, which I suppose is ok for now, but when I get a new card I want to store them on my larger 16 gb card. I can access them by going to settings,storage, audio, then complete action using files, device storage, and then they are listed as amazonmp3.
View 4 Replies View Relatedall the recent photos that I have taken apparently do not show up when trying to view them on my PC. I am using a PNY MicroSDHC Class 10 SD Card. I only noticed this just now when trying to transfer some of my recent photo images to my pc - unfortunately, they are only in thumbnail size.I can view the DCIM.thumbnails but they (large 8mp size jpg) are missing in the DCIMCamera folder. > this is examined when plugging into PC (USB Mass Storage)I tried searching the entire photon for the JPG's by date but the full size ones are not there. Only the thumbnails of the recent and old and old large size photos are there.
I took a few shots right now and the same thing is happening. I have set the camera to save on SD card.All my past images/videos and files/documents are still viewable in full size on the SD card via windows explorer. I tried to power down and remove-reinsert SD card but the recent images in full size are not there.I did a search via windows explorer for all JPEGs on the entire drive but it seems all of the recent photos I took are not there, only the thumbnail files.Also, I had purchased this card "as is" new and never did any formating - it seemed to have worked okay up until now.
Anyone have a problem with music skipping when playing off the Micro SD card? It's random, which eliminates the possibility of a bad file or corruption during the sync, and seems worse when the 4g function is turned on. Interestingly, the Photon is advertised as having 1GB of RAM, but the most I ever have available is 440MB.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIs text messaging. If I try to send an outgoing text at the same time that one is incoming it will not send the outgoing message. It will struggle for about 30 seconds to 1 minute (or even more) and eventually time out with a 'text was not sent' error message. For someone like me who sends thousands of texts a month it's the most annoying thing ever! Other phones do not have this problem.
Also the time stamp for texts does not work if the phone is powered off. For example: I turn my phone off at midnight and someone sends me a text at 1:00 AM. I turn my phone back on at 8AM. The text arrives but does not have the correct time stamp as being sent at 1:00 AM. It will be shown as 8AM. So I have no idea what time the message was actually sent. Once again other phones I have used did not have this problem.
I have music and photo files stored on an SD card. I could play the music and view photos OK before ICS update. After ICS, the music files on the SD card didn't play. If I copied them to the internal memory, they worked. Gallery photos on SD card had multiple copies and would not swipe from one to the next. When viewed with XOOM attached to PC, there were multiple copies of everything. but only one copy of each if viewed in file manager, or by plugging SD card directly into PC. I found on other forums that I can clear the media storage and the files will play properly. However, after I restart once or twice the files are corrupted again. Is there a permanent fix for this problem? Is Google/Motorola aware of this? Is a permanent fix planned for a future update?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIts been a whole day not sure whats goin on i didnt acually realize it was happening untill a friend came over.I was sending texts out to family and friends but never getting any back which i though was weird but didn't think much of it maybe everone i sent one to was busy...unlikely.So my buddy came by and said he has been texting me back all day several times and i never awnsered just kept sayin whats up or you gettin my text lol.
I thought trying to update might solve the problem so i went to update my profile and prl and as soon as i hit update profile they all started coming in at once had tons of them. but now they dont come when people send them they all come together 15 or 20 minutes after they have wrote me back whats the deal.
I've had my Photon for about six months, and lately it has been acting possessed. It will freeze on the Motorola logo, as though it has restarted itself. Sometimes it will restart itself completely. Sometimes it will turn itself off a few minutes after I unplug it in the morning. I've been getting 24 hour delays with incoming text messages* (yet I can still make calls and send texts, browse the web, etc). If I pop out the battery and put it back in again, it will work fine for a few days and then the problems start all over again.Yes, I have power-cycled it. That is the first thing I did. And second. And fifth.

However, files do not show in the app when I add them to the SD Card.
The SD card has been formatted in the phone. I'm adding files to this folder directory - Card/Android/data/com.google.android.music/files. Is this correct?
Yesterday I realized that my phone was not receiving incoming texts or phone calls. I power cycled my phone and several texts from the last 1 1/2 days came through. My phone also started to work again. Has this happened to anyone else? Again this phone has a problem with its most basic function.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHad this phone a little over a month now and notice that sometimes when someone sends me a text that comes in 2 parts because of the length of it, I will receive the 2nd part of the message first (out of order). Now this isn't so bad as long as the first part comes in so I can read the whole message. However I have had at least 3 situations where I only received the 2nd part of the message and never received the first part. So I had to ask the senders to resend the message over again. Now this could be a network issue and nothing to do with the phone but I don't recall this ever happening on any other phone I have used.

Every time I put all of my music onto it then put it in my phone, it wipes all my music files off straight away. I checked if they were hidden by putting my SD Card back into the computer but they are actually getting deleted. I have tried some basic things (formatting the card, power on and off, etc) but I'm not having much luck.

I just took a ton of awesome pictures at an art festival, got home excited the check out how good they were, and ALL but 2 are gone. Never saved. I have no idea why, I didn't close out the camera app too fast, each photo moved down to the bottom left as a thumb before I took another, or closed the app. Any idea what's going on? Any way to recover these great pics? This is really a pain as I have also lost great concert videos as well.

Ive downloaded apps like readers and a different yahoo app but no luck - still unable to download those attachments. View 6 Replies View RelatedMy phone said "memory full, delete some data",Ever since, all my tracks bar 3 are not showing on the memory card, neither are about 90% of my sound, image and video files.
Basically, my memory card is only showing a very small number of files and the rest I cannot access. Phone is N73 that caused this. Memory card is Mini SD.Ive used data cable and is still the case on the laptop, also tried memory card reader. Still exactly the same only showing small number of actual files. I can see the folder names however it says empty. But in properties it still recognizes the fact that that 1.9GB is used of 2.0GB. However I can only access about 100MB of those files.
How come when I refresh or start the music player, it wont add files from memory card?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just bought W205, couse my good old W880i died on me. In start there were some broblems, because it didnīt recognise any of music files from my 2G memory card. Well i run software update, even it was up to date and hey, it allmost worked. Now the music player regognises mp3 files just fine, but files that are in m4a format, (that i got most of my music) is not regognised. It cant handle them in proper way. It shows songs names, but dont put them in proper albumwiew, and wont play them at all. Thatīs very weird, because i had no broblem with them on my old W880i. If i go to filehandling and browse memorycards files from there, they works just fine, but that is not actually musicplayer, isnīt it! So. How can i play my music files in this MUSIC-phone i just bought?

I'm quite dissappointed with the way the Photon supports SD cards, and am considering returning it and going back to my EVO 3D.opefully I am missing something very simple, but have spent 2 hours here and other Android forums, and it appears this is a known issue with no current solution. And appears to be an Android issue, not Moto. Which doesn't fix my issue - may just tell me that I need a phone without an extra tier in its memory hierarchy. I understand that perhaps developers need to adjust to the extra tier in the next year or so, but that doesn't solve my problem.
Very simply, I want the Photon to comply with its advertised fact sheet - I want ONE large storage area:"16GB of onboard storage with the option to expand storage of up to 48GB with an optional SD card"I want to see ONE large logical "/sdcard" SD card, not an 8GB /sdcard, with a 32GB /sdcard-ext that is minimally useful. I understand why 8 is not 16 - no issue there. So, I'd expect (in round numbers, and adjusting for giga vs. gibi) 8 + 30 = 38.My issue is that I travel globally, use Copilot GPS, and 8GB is not enough for all the maps I need, along with other use of the 8GB partition.So -- with no disrepect intended, should I just assume that the quoted statement above is a marketing phrase with no basis in fact (that's my working assumption now) - or (hopefully) am I missing something obvious?
My Nokia 5800 memory card sometimes goes rogue and i cant access my music player and says my files are corrupted. The problem is i can view my images and i can access the music via file manager.

Besides removing the sd card, is there any other fix? there's a few gb of picture files too.How can I optimize her phone? I personally have a windows mobile and I treat it like a computer. I open task manager and shut down all apps not being used. I have a file explorer to move files around. Can I do the same on the Storm? I want to move the ringtones I made onto her phone, not leave it on the sd card. Also, sometimes she download files or w.e onto her phone, not the sd card. This seemed to happen since the last software update. Before that, it worked fine.The phone simply does not recognize any Micro SD cards. I tried 2 different micro sds and the same thing happened.
The buttons where it says"Mount SD card" are always disabled(shaded). And the phone does not let me erase data from SD card either.I tried the reset from Privacy>Factory Reset. Same thing happened. It reset the phone but it still does not read Micro SD.
I recently accidentally locked the sim card on my motorola photon 4g and was wondering as to how I would find the PUK unlock code for the sim card. I called sprint technical support and they informed me that they do not have access to that information and I had asked someone from motorola and they told me the same thing.

The problem is whenever I select option Refresh Library, the device is unable to load new music files which I have transferred to memory card using PC suite. Music player is unable to load music files which are stored in memory card. I even updated the phone software but unable to solve this problem, but other files such as videos and images. I am able to see in gallery. Only problem is with the music files.....
