View 2 RepliesI regularly lose song files on the 32GB MicroSDHC card (Class 10) in my Atrix 2. They disappear without a trace, and without notice of any kind. I've been checking my music directory regularly with a file explorer app, and I've noticed that they tend to disappear whenever minor changes are made to the SD card (mounting/unmounting the card, connecting to my PC, adding new files to the card, revising existing files, etc.). I've tried using different SD cards, different PC connection methods (MotoHelper and USB Mass Storage), but nothing seems to work.
Is Android 2.3.5 not reading the card properly? I don't see the point of using an SD card with this phone if I can't guarantee that the files will stay accessible.
I just got the Motorola Photon Q and so far I really like it. It is different navigating than my previous phone, though. I am currently using my old 2 gb sd card and want to get a 16 gb card, but can't figure out how to transfer my music files that I downloaded from Amazon MP3 cloud to my phone. It appears they are stored on internal storage, which I suppose is ok for now, but when I get a new card I want to store them on my larger 16 gb card. I can access them by going to settings, storage, audio, then complete action using files, device storage, and then they are listed as amazonmp3.

I can see all of my songs on the default media player on my atrix... but when I try and upload the files through the Motorola portal (from phone to pc) not all of the songs are there... View 4 Replies View RelatedI have music and photo files stored on an SD card. I could play the music and view photos OK before ICS update. After ICS, the music files on the SD card didn't play. If I copied them to the internal memory, they worked. Gallery photos on SD card had multiple copies and would not swipe from one to the next. When viewed with XOOM attached to PC, there were multiple copies of everything. but only one copy of each if viewed in file manager, or by plugging SD card directly into PC. I found on other forums that I can clear the media storage and the files will play properly. However, after I restart once or twice the files are corrupted again. Is there a permanent fix for this problem? Is Google/Motorola aware of this? Is a permanent fix planned for a future update?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I drag and drop music files to the Music folder in the phone storage they show up in the music player app fine.
However, files do not show in the app when I add them to the SD Card.
The SD card has been formatted in the phone. I'm adding files to this folder directory - Card/Android/data/com.google.android.music/files. Is this correct?
I have a decent quality (Samsung) 64gb Micro SD Card for my G3. Every time I put all of my music onto it then put it in my phone, it wipes all my music files off straight away. I checked if they were hidden by putting my SD Card back into the computer but they are actually getting deleted. I have tried some basic things (formatting the card, power on and off, etc) but I'm not having much luck.
View 16 Replies View RelatedMy phone said "memory full, delete some data",Ever since, all my tracks bar 3 are not showing on the memory card, neither are about 90% of my sound, image and video files.
Basically, my memory card is only showing a very small number of files and the rest I cannot access. Phone is N73 that caused this. Memory card is Mini SD.Ive used data cable and is still the case on the laptop, also tried memory card reader. Still exactly the same only showing small number of actual files. I can see the folder names however it says empty. But in properties it still recognizes the fact that that 1.9GB is used of 2.0GB. However I can only access about 100MB of those files.
How come when I refresh or start the music player, it wont add files from memory card?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just bought W205, couse my good old W880i died on me. In start there were some broblems, because it didnīt recognise any of music files from my 2G memory card. Well i run software update, even it was up to date and hey, it allmost worked. Now the music player regognises mp3 files just fine, but files that are in m4a format, (that i got most of my music) is not regognised. It cant handle them in proper way. It shows songs names, but dont put them in proper albumwiew, and wont play them at all. Thatīs very weird, because i had no broblem with them on my old W880i. If i go to filehandling and browse memorycards files from there, they works just fine, but that is not actually musicplayer, isnīt it! So. How can i play my music files in this MUSIC-phone i just bought?

Besides removing the sd card, is there any other fix? there's a few gb of picture files too.How can I optimize her phone? I personally have a windows mobile and I treat it like a computer. I open task manager and shut down all apps not being used. I have a file explorer to move files around. Can I do the same on the Storm? I want to move the ringtones I made onto her phone, not leave it on the sd card. Also, sometimes she download files or w.e onto her phone, not the sd card. How can I remove it? the delete option doesnt come up. any advice?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a motorola Atrix 4G running Android 2.3.4 and I recently wiped all the music off my phone and synced it with my google music. I have all my music set to availible offline, so it is all stored locally on my phone, but the HDMI entertainment app doesn't detect any music, nor does the motoblur music app. I don't really care about the motoblur music app but how can I get my music recognized by the HDMI entertainment system app (is app the right word for the HDMI entertainment interface?), or is there a new app I can get that will recognize the music synced by google music?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOne of the first thing I did when I got my Atrix was enable phone and storage encryption from the settings menu. I recently downloaded and installed Motorola Media Link and got it to work with my phone. When content comes from the phone to the computer, the name and file type are correct, but it doesn't open or play (if a pic or video).
If I navigate to My Computer and open the SD card directly, I can see all the files and copy them over (like pics and vids) but I cannot see the pictures and the videos do not work.
Is encryption causing the problem? Is there any way to utilize motorola software (like Media Link) if encryption is enabled?
If I can't use conventional methods to transfer data from my phone to my computer, are there other options?
I have a Atrix and I have tried syncing through Media Link and it duplicates most of the music files so I have two copies of every album in two different places on SD card. It puts them under mobile/music but also under a music. I never set up the file system on my SD card but I did switch it out of my old phone. Why does it do this and what do I need to do make it stop? Should I delete one of these file folders completely? I have already deleted all of the music files on my phone and then synced it again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a 1GB SD card that was full so I swapped in a 16GB memory card. The old SD card files show on my PC but I cannot get the PC to see the new SD card. I was thinking that I would put the old SD card in the phone, move the pictures (or as many as I could at one time) to the internal memory, mount the new SD card and move them to it. I cannot find a way to do this. Is there an app that I can download that will facilitate this? I also tried downloading the Admiral software for my PC, and it installed, but it will not work when I try to use it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an SIII but no one seems to be viewing those forums so I thought I would ask here. I've always stored my music in folders sorted by artist and never bothered with tagging as long as the file names started with numbers. I have over 300 gigs in music so I'm not about to start tagging now. my 32 gig sd card has 4500 music files. The music player doesn't play nice with my sorting - artist view winds up showing the same artists 10 times or sorts out compiltation albums while folder view has every single album (300-400 or so) sorted alphabetically.
I would like to go into the external sd card and play directly from there. I can do that, but only a single track will play and you can't use any other apps or browse when the track plays. Am I stupid or something? This is the main reason why I've always used Cowon music players or my sansa clip, I can simply go into folders and play. I have media monkey and love it but even there I use the folder directory.
I recieved my atrix 2 (at&t version but unlocked as described on ebay) today. But after I insert my sim card into the slot and power on the phone, it shows that no sim card.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhy is it that the SD card on my Atrix is often not seen, and is there anything that can be done about it? Here are some examples of things that have not seemed to work with and/or recognize my SD card:
1. When my phone is hooked up to my car stereo via USB, the stereo finds audio files on the phones internal storage only, not on the SD card.
2. I have the app "Widgetsoid" which has a toggle switch to mount/dismount the SD card. Instead the widget mounts/dismounts my phone's internal storage.
3. I was using DoubleTwist for a while, but it was hit or miss as far as it seeing my SD card. Sometimes it would find my internal memory, other times it would find my SD card.
4. I had a BT system installed in my car temporarily, and it could only find audio files on the internal storage, not on the SD card.
The SD card seems to function fine with respect to file management when using my laptop and USB or Wifi. The music I have on the SD card functions fine with the stock music player and with ProAmp.
