last week my screen was staying ON whether the screen time out was checked or Not checked..This week, the opposite..the screen in both scenerios (time out checked or not checked), is first dimming and then going black screen?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if others are having the same issue. Sometimes when I receive a text message on my MA it is completely blank. They are even plain text messages. Let me explain. I have received text messages with special characters in the message and the MA displays a "?" where those characters are. When I receive a message that contains a picture those do not get sent to the MA (and I am more then okay with that). But for some reason when I get certain text messages the display shows up all white and I am unable to see anything when trying to open the message on the MA. I can't even delete it.
Phone: Motorola DROID X Running 2.3.3 with System Version 4.5.605.MB810
MA: System Version 4.55.76
EDIT: I have upgraded to the latest version of the OS for the MA and now get some feedback saying that a message could not be synced but I still wonder why some are able to be synced while others cannot be.
Today when I switched on the phone the screen wouldn't come up...New Year Shocker. Incoming/Outgoing calls continue to work. Any hardware/software reset option?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got this phone in june and this is the secon time this happens, the phone would turn on and the lights everything on as if it was really on, but cant see the screen. A backlight is on but you cant see whats going on the phone. the only thing you see is a black screen, but it is ON you can feel the vibration everytime is press the screen, i just cant see the screen. i dont know what to do and im unable to attend a store to fix it

View 5 Replies View Relatedwent to plug my Atrix in last night, it had been sitting on the dresser. Worked fine when I set it there 4 hours earlier. Battery was maybe half charged, hadn't been used much that day. When I got back to it there was nothing; blank screen, no LEDS, and wouldn't come on. Plugged in and RED LED lit up. Left like this for a while and when I came back the camera light was on, but when I unplugged it went off. Still no power. Read that maybe not original Motorola charger. Got original and GREEN LED came on. GREEN LED also comes on when plugged to PC. When it is unplugged there is nothing.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen i was using the Motorola SF600 headphones (nothing the break the fall when i dropped the unit) and the screen cracked. Ok no problem, cracked screen still works i can live with it. Now today my screen is blanking in and out basically i cant see anything on the screen. This sucks, the SF600 headphones failed me twice i should have never even tried them.Let me note I still have my 32gb 1g ipod touch which has been smashed and dropped on cement so many times guess what screen never cracked, not once the thing still works for crying out loud! Sad thing is i might buy another unit but motorola really has some suspect issues. I am thankfull i bought this unit from amazon warehouse deals and was issued a credit due to an incompelte box so out of pocket was maybe $150. But jeezus Motorola lets make some stufff that can last and survive an accidental drop.

I don't have plenty of applications installed, i just use gmail and a FB messenger. Tell me the use of the phone that can't dial anyone ! The green LED is on and solid, the screen is black (sleeping) and it refuses to wake up. View 11 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to Lollipop 5.1, I noticed my screen is blank after using any app (messaging, GMail, etc.) and it won't come back. Calls and texts and other notices come (can actually answer calls and see the call screen) through, but home screen and any adjacent screens are all black. The status bar and icons are visible though and I can use the pull down menu. It's as if it is refreshing but never gets to the end. I installed many apps, even used a stock wallpaper), but it still will do this. I have to keep rebooting until it eventually stops; I check it by using a random app and seeing if I can see the screen by pressing the Home button. I also wiped the cache partition after the OS upgrade.

Ths screen just stays blank.As the ablity to run Flash Player is one of the key differentiators for buying a Xoom rather than an iPad.What is worrying more is the rumours on the internet that Adobe are going to stop development on the ICS version.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using a MA 1.6.13 N8. Brightness it at half and screen timeout is set to 30s. Workout screen timeout is off.
Just to make sure we're on the same page: the MA screen has three modes:
- Full on (color and bright) - probably eats up battery quick - out of the 30s configured, the screen remains on this mode for about 25s.
- Dimmed (B&W no backlight) - compromise on battery spend - the last 5s of the 30s are in this mode.
- Standby mode (screen off) - least battery comsumption - after the configured 30s timeout, you can't see anything.
So here is the question: Is this Dimmed screen mode available? I'd like to set this mode on always.
My droid 2 has decided to start acting quite funky.it will freeze, the keyboard stops working mid-text/email then goes back to the home screen like that text/email draft never existed. I also am having trouble answering calls. When a call comes in, i touch answer but there is no response.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn non-workout mode, my MotoACTV screen unexpectedly goes dark after only a few seconds.
In workout mode the screen dims, a lot, after only a few seconds. For example: If I set the timeout for 30 minutes, it runs the full 30 minutes and goes dark. No problem so far, right?
But when I "wake up" the device by hitting the power button, the screen goes dark again (or dims in workout mode) in about two seconds and will not return to normal unless I go back into settings and reconfigure the timer.
I tried a factory reset, unchecking the workout screen timeout, no difference. Also, why is it that some uploaded workouts say "no raw data available"?
I have enjoyed my motoactv to a certain degree, despite portal failures, bugs, and the like, but my latest experience is very disappointing.Add me to the list of persons that has had the device fall and develop a hairline crack in the screen. Ok I've seen the other horror stories on the forum about support. My device works fine, but I don't want it to get wet now with the screen crack.
I opened a call, and since I am from Canada, I was given a repair location that is right in my home city. Perfect! However they refused to even look at the device, claiming they repair Motorola phones but not the motoactv. I provided the Motorola ticket number and explained that Motorola referred me to them. They couldn't care less and refused to accept the device. I regulary use a US address, and so opened up a new case; and shipped my device to the US. The *very* day within hours of receiving notification that I would have to pay to have the motoactv fixed, (This is not a problem for me.) I phoned in and requested that the repair be made, and provided payment by credit card.I have a Gran Fondo event in Mid July, and will *definitely* be using my Garmin. Looks like I have perhaps totally wasted my money on this device, although for now I can use it as an mp3 player when I go to the gym......
Is there another option that exists that would allow me to get my metrics read out on-demand (not looking for auto-intervals)?I hate tapping the screen for this. It doesn't seem to work unless I slap it about 4-5 times. I'd like to be able to just press a button sequence, double press a button, maybe press & hold the screen etc. to get metrics on demand.

View 6 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed any screen seperation from the metal backing? My Motoactv is always in the watch band, and today I decided to take it out to wash the band. When i removed the device I noticed something very disturbing, the metal back on one corner has movement, i.e. The body seems to have come away from the screen ever so slightly. If I squeeze the device there is slight movement and a slight squeak noise?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMine is exactly same problem as the one posted below I think it is definately a design fault. url...Im have problems with support for my motoactv I bought it in us bu live in UK, Australia and Jakarta.The support chaps are telling me that I need US address and are refusing to offer me any support.My device fell out of the armband about a metre on wood floor when i was at the gym and the screen cracked from the corner.This seems to be a common issue with the device.Is has been going on with support of 6 weeks and they keep sending emails saying it has been resolved, when it most certainly has not.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIf marathon mode is set and screen timeout is set after you power down the unit and then power it up again it keep marathon mode set but looses the screen timeout selection. You have to go in and set screen timeout again before you start the run. I think this is a bug. I saw someone mention it in another posting. I wanted to bubble it to separate thread so a Moto eng could see it and hopefully fix it in the next firmware release.
