When I turn my phone on in the morning it will boot up fine. Then a few minutes later its "dead". (it never did this before the update).
I end up having to pull the battery. Then power it up again. and it will usually die again. After the 3rd time it seems ok.
Also it still comes on after shutting down once in a while. Not every night tho.

I'm seen posts that refer to renaming files under "System/Media", but I don't see that path on my phone.
I've just started getting a problem where a certain area of the touchscreen doesn't register the input. For instance, I cannot get the letter "d". As I move my finger very slightly I will get either "s" or "f", but not "d" inbetween. However if I hold down and slide across, the d will register, at least sometimes. Surprisingly I have problems with the same letter in either portrait or landscape mode, which is a different place on the keyboard.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAlmost every time I use my phone now the volume will fluctuate between normal and almost completely inaudible. I don't have time until at least Tuesday to possibly go to Verizon. So far turning it off and back on seems to knock it off for a few phone calls.
View 3 Replies View RelatedObtained my Droid3 two weeks ago and I'm now finding that it will not charge.Long story short: I did not charge my device for 2 days straight, upon complete epletion of the battery's power I hooked it upto the wall charger and noticed that the screen turned on with the droid symbol and subsequently the charging icon. I left it to charge, and after a while when it was upto 15% I attempted to turn it on by pressing the power button (without holding it down), which caused the screen to go black and ceased the charging.ow whenever I try to charge the device via the wall charger, the white charging LED (between the microUSB and miniHDMI inputs) turns on occasionally and remains there for an hour, after which it goes off again. When I try to charge via the computer the same thing happens, except after 45min or so of charging, the device repeatedly connects and disconnects from the computer USB (the usb connection and disconnection sounds ping repeatedly until I unplug the device). This also happens when I try and turn on the device while charging via USB.
Normally after 45min of charging from the computer the device will turn on, with the Droid logo appearing and system activated. Now it will not turn on at all.I have tried removing the battery from the device for at least a min and then recharging, I've also tried removing and re-inserting the battery while the Droid3 is connected to the charger to no avail. To replicate the situation, I've left the battery without charging for a period of 48 hours, and then tried to charge it again via wall charger; same problem: the white LED turned on for about an hour and then went out. The device did not turn on this time. My suspiscions are on the battery..The phone is a great piece of hardware and I've grown to love it, yet I had honestly no idea it would be susceptible to such trivial conditions 3 weeks out of the box. I've ordered an extended battery just in case
Motorola Droid Turbo (v. 1) Ballistic - I have a dead spot on the upper left hand corner of the screen, annoyingly right where a menu or "back" navigation button usually is in an app. I have confirmed this one spot is dead to the touch with a screen tester. When I turn my phone off and back on, it reactivates the spot for a time, then eventually it goes dead again. This phone is less than 2 weeks old...I just got my settings just the way I like them.

Yesterday I put it down on the table after answering a text and a few minutes later when I picked it up it was dead.It's not the battery...I recharged it all last night and it still will not turn on.I will take it back to the store since it is still under warranty. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an XPRT that I obtained from Sprint 30 days ago. Like phone but having issues with screen freezing up when phone turned on. I travel and must turn off phone when getting on plane. Once I get off, I turn on XPRT and it appears to boot up but then freezes or the screen goes blank. I pull the battery, re-insert battery, and power on. Same thing will happen again so I pull battery and go through same cycle. Usually after two cycles, the phone is fine but it can take 4 or more. I took the phone back to the Sprint store where it was purchase and it happened to the tech while he was trouble-shooting this problem. He did not have an answer and he looked at widgets and aps and saw nothing unusual. All apps or widgets are either from Android market or Motorola. Phone has been charged using Motorola supplied charger. Sprint store took back this phone and game me a new one. Seemed to work ok but just go back from trip and same issues. I turned the phone off last evening and turned it on this morning. It would boot up but took 4 cycles to quit either freezing or blank screen. This is getting to be a painful solution. I do have the latest software installed.

You can prevent them from running easily.In the Xoom I see some programs doing the same thing. Like Maps. I have no need for the Maps app to be running normally. I doubt if I would ever use it. I have GPS for the vehicles and mostly go to known locations now anyway.I don't want to remove the app particularly. You never know when you might decide it would be good to run it

MotoCast WiFi is fantastic! I love it! Except at boot-up time on my PC.
I run MotoCast WiFi on my trusty XP desktop. It is not a wimpy machine, but it isn't a quad-core screamer either. When I boot it up with MotoCast Wifi set to load automatically, MotoCast immediately starts grabbing almost all of the disk IO. Worse than Windows Search Indexer, worse than Google Music Manager. My computer becomes almost crippled for almost 20 minutes, and the disk drive with my docs and music library on it sounds like a jackhammer through it all.
So; is there a way to delay the MotoCast startup? And/or is there a way to set MotoCast to back off a little bit when rescanning my files? (It's like MotoCast has no sense of "only what's changed".)

View 1 Replies View RelatedOccurred 3rd time in last 2 months(well spread incidents) - Photon just starts rebooting continously on its own (shuts down - loads back to the startup screens - connects to sprint - shuts down again..... loop continues non stop). During the restarts if it is un-noticed for a while the phone gets very hot. The only way to stop is to pull the battery out, after which it starts fine.Not sure what the issue is. Any thoughts? Would not prefer to do a factory reset as there is no observed pattern, all three incidents were when phone was not being used and was in the pocket. No extra apps are running generally whenever I check through the task manager - I cannot check while the phone is rebooting though.

The restore went fine, but the connectivity was dead. when i tried to reflash, i got a new not known device called Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 and rsd failed. When i've done that before it always went fine... only this time not. I searched a lot in the net, but didn't found a way to recover it.

If anyone can tell me what files/folders the NOTEPAD notes and voice notes (sounds) would be in, I am trying to see if that phone contains a VERY important note I wrote or recorded, to myself, some time ago (I have a lousy memory, so I record notes to myself constantly). AND, if the file might be in one of those protected BREWMOD folders -- how I can get it off.
A 2nd atrix in my house recently had a keyboard issue which prevented using the keyboard in the portrait mode. It responded but not correctly. Eagle328 suggested downloading another keyboard, which solved the keyboard use problem so that we can at least use it in portrait mode.
We have now realized that a specific area of the display on all home screens is "dead."
That is, if you divided the screen into 5 equal sections from top to bottom, the second section does not respond anywhere from left to right of that section.
Example 1: if you had your home page filled with app icons, you would have 20 icons. In the second row of icons (from the top), not one of the 4 would respond. All others would act normally.
Example 2: If you had 4 notifications and you pulled the screen down, you could tap the first one, the third one, and the fourth one and get a response...but the 2nd one would not respond because it ends up in that second section of the screen.
I'm thinking it is time to take the phone to the AT&T store, but wanted to throw this out first. As with most of you, this phone is used for business, and would be extremely inconvenient to take into town,... but afraid it may be that time.
My tablet (wi-fi only ) showed there is update ( build HTK55D ). I started update. Downloaded and need to reboot. I select reboot. After that, tablet never start again.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI left my atrix charging at night and when i woke up the next day, the phone is off and wont turn on. Stuff I tried:
- Pulling the battery out,
- Charging with another chargers
- Charging the battery with an external battery charger
- Using a tester to see the battery voltage(it was OK)
- Connecting to the computer via USB (solid green led no charge, nor detected by computer)
It wont even turn on, show any errors or messages or leds, my atrix just became a brick by itself out of nowhere, it didnt get wet or fall down or anything like that.
Had MPT 5.05, have updated it fully online - 5.31a. Downloaded Motorola Driver Installer 5.20 and did a Clean and Reinstall on those. Windows XP SP3 recognizes phone when plugged in with proper USB cable (Motorola OEM cable for this phone).Clients husbands phone, screen went dark, AT&T said they would have to repair the phone before being able to pull off contact list and photos. Plus charge for the process of pulling off. Right.First thing I noticed, if I plug the USB cable into the phone, then into the USB port on PC while phone is OFF, the outside screen lights up and inside screen lights up with HELLOMOTO splash screen, after a few moments, both screens go dark and will not come back on.
MPT sees that the phone is there, however, constantly returns that it is not ready due to possible OTA or starting up, wait... message when trying to find contacts on the phone.Question - is there something on the phone that needs to be done to put it into a mode where it can talk to the PC?uestion 2 - the screen is not DEAD as I can tell from the HELLOMOTO splash screen, what could be causing it to go dark when leaving that splash screen?
