Most of the time when I startup my Xoom it will not play any sound that I can hear. If I hold the volume up button and the power button to reboot then the sound is fine. Has anyone else heard of this problem and is there a fix or just to continue what i have been doing.
View 9 RepliesIn Windows they have programs that are in a startup folder and automatically run when you boot up. You can prevent them from running easily.In the Xoom I see some programs doing the same thing. Like Maps. I have no need for the Maps app to be running normally. I doubt if I would ever use it. I have GPS for the vehicles and mostly go to known locations now anyway.I don't want to remove the app particularly. You never know when you might decide it would be good to run it

I'm seen posts that refer to renaming files under "System/Media", but I don't see that path on my phone.
Since I installed the ICS update, I have no sound control. The speaker shows a slash through it indicating off, but it will not allow me to turn sound on.

View 8 Replies View Relatedon mine XOOM /WI-FI tab, it seems that i need to first push the on button then let go an push an hold again for a sec then it will power on? Is this the normal way to turn on from a total power off state? As in sleep mode only need to be pushed 1x and screen comes awake. There actualy is nothing of any extent on the power button in the emanual that I could see for normal power up.Also as iv seen some comments elsewhere on the Sound Output quality, well on a set of earbuds its good quality sound, on the built in speakers ..well for a device of this small size one should expect decent sound but cant expect very much as to high end sound really it is only tiny sound. But ..the HDMI out sound is very poor quality , on a TV in or AVAmp in the same..very flat, dulll, boxee sound-tested using same music vidaudio file as from laptop, or other small device. and resulting sound is ..well crap... just only real neg comment otherwise.

View 17 Replies View RelatedA new issue with the 3.2 update. I set the speaker volume to zero and pressed OK. Later I attempted to reset the volume to full on. Next I initiated an MP4 movie (using the latest Quicktime); the movie plays fine but with no sound. I stop the movie go back to the sound setting and it has reset itself to zero. The same result with an MP3 music file. Is this a software compatibility issue?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've purchased a iPhone 4S off ebay with the aim of fixing it. It is in great condition inside and out, however won't turn on or boot and there is no display. When plugged into the wall socket it just makes the charging chirp sound over and over again, but that is all. When plugged into a computer it does nothing, no show in iTunes. All the seller was able to say was that he tried to fix the screen and it worked before that, but couldn't get it to work properly after that. Any ideas what could be wrong, what needs to be replaced? If it was just a faulty screen shouldn't the phone still charge and why is it making the constant sound?

I end up having to pull the battery. Then power it up again. and it will usually die again. After the 3rd time it seems ok.
Also it still comes on after shutting down once in a while. Not every night tho.
So I had music on my xoom but accidently deleted it. I tried going in my computer files to copy and paste songs from my itunes into my folder on xoom called music but says wrong format. I don't know what to do.

The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open.The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an XPRT that I obtained from Sprint 30 days ago. Like phone but having issues with screen freezing up when phone turned on. I travel and must turn off phone when getting on plane. Once I get off, I turn on XPRT and it appears to boot up but then freezes or the screen goes blank. I pull the battery, re-insert battery, and power on. Same thing will happen again so I pull battery and go through same cycle. Usually after two cycles, the phone is fine but it can take 4 or more. I took the phone back to the Sprint store where it was purchase and it happened to the tech while he was trouble-shooting this problem. He did not have an answer and he looked at widgets and aps and saw nothing unusual. All apps or widgets are either from Android market or Motorola. Phone has been charged using Motorola supplied charger. Sprint store took back this phone and game me a new one. Seemed to work ok but just go back from trip and same issues. I turned the phone off last evening and turned it on this morning. It would boot up but took 4 cycles to quit either freezing or blank screen. This is getting to be a painful solution. I do have the latest software installed.

MotoCast WiFi is fantastic! I love it! Except at boot-up time on my PC.
I run MotoCast WiFi on my trusty XP desktop. It is not a wimpy machine, but it isn't a quad-core screamer either. When I boot it up with MotoCast Wifi set to load automatically, MotoCast immediately starts grabbing almost all of the disk IO. Worse than Windows Search Indexer, worse than Google Music Manager. My computer becomes almost crippled for almost 20 minutes, and the disk drive with my docs and music library on it sounds like a jackhammer through it all.
So; is there a way to delay the MotoCast startup? And/or is there a way to set MotoCast to back off a little bit when rescanning my files? (It's like MotoCast has no sense of "only what's changed".)
Has anyone had any success with using Wifi that required user certificates? I'm trying to get my Xoom to connect to the corporate network (EAP-TLS) and followed the instructions for the IPad and imported my certificated into Android correctly. But when I connect, it hangs at the connecting state for minutes, before finally giving up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOccurred 3rd time in last 2 months(well spread incidents) - Photon just starts rebooting continously on its own (shuts down - loads back to the startup screens - connects to sprint - shuts down again..... loop continues non stop). During the restarts if it is un-noticed for a while the phone gets very hot. The only way to stop is to pull the battery out, after which it starts fine.Not sure what the issue is. Any thoughts? Would not prefer to do a factory reset as there is no observed pattern, all three incidents were when phone was not being used and was in the pocket. No extra apps are running generally whenever I check through the task manager - I cannot check while the phone is rebooting though.
