HTC One M7 :: Disabling Startup / Boot Sound
Apr 28, 2013Is there a way to do this? I've searched the settings and didn't find anything. I also tried Silent Boot from the Play Store and that didn't work either. What am I missing?

May 30, 2012I've purchased a iPhone 4S off ebay with the aim of fixing it. It is in great condition inside and out, however won't turn on or boot and there is no display. When plugged into the wall socket it just makes the charging chirp sound over and over again, but that is all. When plugged into a computer it does nothing, no show in iTunes. All the seller was able to say was that he tried to fix the screen and it worked before that, but couldn't get it to work properly after that. Any ideas what could be wrong, what needs to be replaced? If it was just a faulty screen shouldn't the phone still charge and why is it making the constant sound?

Jul 1, 2012I left my phone to charge one night before going to bed (pulled out the charger when it finished). The next morning the phone had shut down by itself and when I tried turning it on I got white lines accross the screen. That happened for a few more times (sometimes blue or green or red lines), and after I removed and put the battery back in the following has been happening since then : Starting the phoneWhite screen with Nokia logo shows upMessage "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer". Phone hangs. If I press the shut down button, lines appear and fade out before phone shuts down.
I tried the hard reset method, but either I am doing it wrong, or it just doesn't apply here. I tried connecting it to my PC, but it is not recognised (probably because a message to select PC Suite doesn't show up). The phone is a few months outside warranty, so it is not financially wise (or viable) to send it for repairs. I am an advanced user and I'm willing to try any flashing utilities guides to restore it to working condition. Could it be the battery needing a switch? I tried removing the memory card & SIM, but the problem persists.

Nov 24, 2012Does anyone know hoe to turn off thr shutter sound when you take a screen capture? I know how to do it on my launcher but I couldn't find the setting for the default ics capture. I wouldn't care but people keep on thinking I am snapping pics when I do screen captures/hard resets

Nov 21, 2011Most of the time when I startup my Xoom it will not play any sound that I can hear. If I hold the volume up button and the power button to reboot then the sound is fine. Has anyone else heard of this problem and is there a fix or just to continue what i have been doing.

Sep 12, 2015I just want to preface this by saying I cannot root my phone. Not because I am incapable but because this is my corporate phone and I would no longer be able to use it for work related things if I rooted it.
I am using a Bell Canada Samsung Galaxy S6. Every person I've come across that has an S6 or newer samsung phone is able to boot up on silent and not get the samsung noise when the logo comes up. I tried doing a hard reset on my phone just to test to see if my phone would boot silently if I set it on "Mute" mode and it did WITHOUT encryption but I am forced to use encryption by my company's device management policy app or I can't access other things like my e-mail.
How to get the device to boot silently without rooting with these factors in mind? I reached out to samsung and they were clueless. As far as the support knows, the phones cannot boot without the noise even on "Mute" mode which is clearly not the case.
I've tried the Silent boot app as well with no success. I've noticed this happens only when encrypted and upon checking the volume settings on the screen where you have to put your encryption password after booting up, the volume settings are kicked back to default.
Galaxy S6 :: Samsung Boot Animation Shown Without Sound
Jan 9, 2016I have a G920F and the boot animation is not working as it should. I'm on 6.0 Beta and don't think the problem is coming from the beta because if I remember correctly, the first time I booted the beta everything went smoothly. I am not rooted and the phone is completely clean.
The problem isn't a big one, but it isn't working normally. When I boot my S6, the 'Galaxy S6' screen comes, then no boot animation is shown, a black screen is shown instead, then after the small vibration, the boot animation is then shown without the sound. (an the phone is not in silent/vibrate mode)
My guess is flashing a new stock ROM fixes the problem, but I don't have enough time to sort the settings and stuff out after flashing.

Oct 2, 2010I just bought an 02 mini x10. It's new and came into a sealed box. But first time I switched it on nothing appears on screen. Left it to charge for a whole day (charging indicator lits up) but still nothing. But when I turn it on, the boot music/sound comes in and also I can only see the screen when under sunlight. I can see 'Silent mode " and "settings" on the screen. But the phone switches down when I press on either.

I have a 32 GB HTC One M9 from Verizon on stock Lollipop Android, and it has been working perfectly until this morning. I woke up to my M9 stuck in a bootloop. It would boot to the HTC logo, stay there for about 10 sec, then go black and constantly restart again (even as I type this). I can access the bootloader, but it seems none of the options work for me! I can't boot to recovery mode or even power off my phone. It just constantly boots again by itself.

Jun 7, 2013Is there a way to permanently disable the gmail app (or better yet, delete it)? Basically, I want to use my gmail account for gtalk and google voice only. (By way of background, I don't use gmail for email, but i do have some email accounts that will forward mail to my gmail account, so I do wind up having "new mail" in gmail every now and then.)
I already have the sync setting turned to OFF under settings -> accounts & sync -> auto sync is OFF and under "manage accounts," my google/gmail account is set to OFF for sync. This seemed to be working fine until I downloaded the update for the HTC one, and upon installation and reboot, all of my apps did a global sync and gmail started ticking again.
I know that I can turn off gmail notifications as a (temporary) workaround, but I'm hoping there is a more permanent solution.
