My Atrix will not charge or turn on. While charging the green led blinks sometimes. When I press the power button the led goes solid for about 3 seconds then goes off but the phone never turns on.
View 8 RepliesI left my atrix charging at night and when i woke up the next day, the phone is off and wont turn on. Stuff I tried:
- Pulling the battery out,
- Charging with another chargers
- Charging the battery with an external battery charger
- Using a tester to see the battery voltage(it was OK)
- Connecting to the computer via USB (solid green led no charge, nor detected by computer)
It wont even turn on, show any errors or messages or leds, my atrix just became a brick by itself out of nowhere, it didnt get wet or fall down or anything like that.

I mean, I certainly don't know how my phone is feeling, so it can take the initiative and give itself a good rebooting when it needs it. Also, I don't know what motorola is making their batteries out of, but when I turn my phone off (or it decides to) I suddenly have more battery than I did previously. This kind of technology should be used more often so we never run out of juice on batteries of any kind.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've just received my Galaxy S2, the first android phone I've ever owned. I've been advised to charge the battery for several hours the first time. When I plugged in the battery charger the battery charging icon appears for about 1 minute and then the screen goes completely dead when the charger is plugged in! Every phone I've had since the mid 90s constantly shows a battery symbol charging throughout the charging process.Is there something wrong with my phone or charger or does the Galaxy S2 not show anything on the screen when charging up?
View 1 Replies View RelatedA 2nd atrix in my house recently had a keyboard issue which prevented using the keyboard in the portrait mode. It responded but not correctly. Eagle328 suggested downloading another keyboard, which solved the keyboard use problem so that we can at least use it in portrait mode.
We have now realized that a specific area of the display on all home screens is "dead."
That is, if you divided the screen into 5 equal sections from top to bottom, the second section does not respond anywhere from left to right of that section.
Example 1: if you had your home page filled with app icons, you would have 20 icons. In the second row of icons (from the top), not one of the 4 would respond. All others would act normally.
Example 2: If you had 4 notifications and you pulled the screen down, you could tap the first one, the third one, and the fourth one and get a response...but the 2nd one would not respond because it ends up in that second section of the screen.
I'm thinking it is time to take the phone to the AT&T store, but wanted to throw this out first. As with most of you, this phone is used for business, and would be extremely inconvenient to take into town,... but afraid it may be that time.
I noticed that my LCD has a column of dark pixels when watching movies, when certain colors pass by. This prompted me to check it by running a couple dead pixel test screens. When I show pure red and blue screens, I can see the same column of pixels (or subpixels) stay black. By this, I mean an entire column of pixels, top to bottom. The pink/magenta screen is also affected but I assume this is because of the red subpixels. No other colors (white, black, yellow, green) are affected. If this was a single pixel, sure, I'd let it go. But having this many pixels be dead really bugs me. The problem is, however, that I bought this handset secondhand (off craigslist) and don't have the original receipt at hand. (therefore I have no warranty).
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone's battery died and it shut off. So I plugged it in to charge. The charging light just blinks instead of shows up solid (could swear this is solid eventually) and was set on charge for an hour.
It won't turn on now. I'm trying to just at least get it on while charging so I don't miss calls but holding down the power button does nothing.
This is my third atrix phone and I have notice a gray circle in the middle of the screen that is visible on light screens. For example googles front page I have taken it back for the reason.

View 7 Replies View RelatedObtained my Droid3 two weeks ago and I'm now finding that it will not charge.Long story short: I did not charge my device for 2 days straight, upon complete epletion of the battery's power I hooked it upto the wall charger and noticed that the screen turned on with the droid symbol and subsequently the charging icon. I left it to charge, and after a while when it was upto 15% I attempted to turn it on by pressing the power button (without holding it down), which caused the screen to go black and ceased the charging.ow whenever I try to charge the device via the wall charger, the white charging LED (between the microUSB and miniHDMI inputs) turns on occasionally and remains there for an hour, after which it goes off again. When I try to charge via the computer the same thing happens, except after 45min or so of charging, the device repeatedly connects and disconnects from the computer USB (the usb connection and disconnection sounds ping repeatedly until I unplug the device). This also happens when I try and turn on the device while charging via USB.
Normally after 45min of charging from the computer the device will turn on, with the Droid logo appearing and system activated. Now it will not turn on at all.I have tried removing the battery from the device for at least a min and then recharging, I've also tried removing and re-inserting the battery while the Droid3 is connected to the charger to no avail. To replicate the situation, I've left the battery without charging for a period of 48 hours, and then tried to charge it again via wall charger; same problem: the white LED turned on for about an hour and then went out. The device did not turn on this time. My suspiscions are on the battery..The phone is a great piece of hardware and I've grown to love it, yet I had honestly no idea it would be susceptible to such trivial conditions 3 weeks out of the box. I've ordered an extended battery just in case
I have reset my Atrix but having several issues. The phone will not accept charging and battery is dangerously low. If I can get past this I have further known issues (getting past Motoblur, Wifi error, others). how to get the battery charging so I can troubleshoot?

But it does not charge the phone and I don't see the phone in windows explorer.If on the phone I switch the USB to mass storage I get the notification "Found new hardware" MB680 but it's unable to find/install the driver.Why does it not find the correct driver, I installed the driver from http://www.motorola.com/Support/US-EN/Support-Homepage/Software_and_Drivers/USB-and-PC-Charging-DriversI have done the same on another PC and that worked correctly.

However, on 2.3.4, the LED doesn't come on at all during charging.
My 3 week old Atrix 2 will nolonger charge from the AC adapter that was included with the phone. It will only charge when connected to a computers USB port.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I dock my Atrix 4G (stock with 2.3.4 OTA update) with my new lapdock, I get the bouncing red logo on the lapdock and only two choices on the phone...Entertainment center and dismiss. I am able to play music, view pictures, etc on the lapdock screen if I select the Entertainment center option, but the keyboard on the lapdock does nothing. I have to use the controls on the phone to control it. And it appears that I can enable/disable the touchpad by double tapping the upper left corner.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an Atrix 4G, I am running Android version 2.3.6 and the build number is 4.5.141 I completed the recent update last night and everything seems fine except...I charged the phone overnight and when I unplugged it this morning, the phone continued to indicate that it is charging. There's a little Harry-Potter-lighting-bolt on the battery symbol in the top right corner, and the battery symbol is constantly going through the animation of "filling up" as it does when it's charging.Also, when the screen times-out and I press the power button on the back, I see the message "charging (80%)." (Needless to say, my phone isnot plugged in.) The percentage of the charge slowly decreases over the course of the day, as it would normally.I guess this problem isn't affecting my ability to use the phone, but it's odd and alarming to see something as basic as this fail to work properly after the update.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenenever I plug my phone in to my laptop to charge, the folders I created on the phone are immediately emptied. To be clear, the programs stille exist on the phone. It's just that the folders get emptied of nearly all of their contents.
It happens as soon as I plug the phone into the computer with the ethernet cord--it doesn't matter if I transfer any data.
Also, this problem does not happen when I charge the phone via an electrical outlet. It only happens when connecting my phone via the laptop. Recreating the contents of these folders is getting frustrating.
I just purchased the Standard Dock and I must say, it is a very nice and works well charging my phone while watching movies and stuff. I was wondering, can use its cord to charge my phone? From what I understand, the dock is a rapid charger, but won't over charge the Atrix.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my phone to a wall charger (provided my Motorola), the touch screen responds rarely (slowly). As soon you disconnect the charger it works fine. I had talked to Motorola specialist over the phone and she provided me with a new charger. However, the problem still persists.
Yesterday, I used a Blackberry charger (with very close voltage and current output) and the phone worked fine.
When trying to charge my Storm2, I get a red light for 15 seconds, then a blank screen for 10 seconds, then a gray screen with a battery icon in the middle with a Z on it.I tried using a different charger -- same result. The battery seems to be seated fully, contacts look good, cover is tight. I read "The battery is not charging" section of the User Guide and I still don't know what the problem is. Has anyone had this same problem? I'm using chargers plugged into a 120 volt outlet.A different Storm2 charged just fine using the same outlet.

There are TWO drivers and the instructions say, choose the one for your phone! There is no indication which driver would be associated or appropriate for my phone! Since I was directed there beginning with questions about the EM330, can I ASSUME that BOTH will work or then which one do I choose to install on my PC ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been loving the Lumia 800 since I got it bar a few problems getting it turn on, but this one takes the cake. Last night I was using my phone before I went to sleep and the battery died so I put it to one side. This morning I go to charge the phone and I'm getting very very little response from the phone. Once I plug the charger in the phone vibrates twice, although the second time it appears to be getting 'cut off.' At no point is anything visible on the screen.
Tried to use the laptop and I get the USB connection sound from my PC, however it then plays the 'removed USB device' sound and there's no indication the phone's connected.
The only technique that gets any kind of response is the 'soft reset', holding the power button and bottom volume button for 10 seconds which gets my carrier's logo up on screen before it quickly dies.
As this is my only phone I'm getting rather stressed about this. I really do need my phone in the week. Would you guys suggest I take it to one of my carrier's shop or try and go through Nokia themselves?
So dissapointed because it's my favourite phone I've ever owned, and now it's useless and causing me a lot of undue stress.
