This is my third atrix phone and I have notice a gray circle in the middle of the screen that is visible on light screens. For example googles front page I have taken it back for the reason.
View 15 Repliesi bought My Motorola Defy Cell Phone (MB255) on 26 Feb 2011 from Germany(amazon) and i have used it until this week , When i writing a message suddenly my phone screen getting dark for 2 second and after that it was reset it self and i saw middle of the Phone Displays has dead defective line , it all pixels has dead in a line i can use my phone but there is not a line middle of the phone , it is annoying Now i am living in istanbul /Turkey and , i tried the connect authorized service centre in istanbul turkey , ,there is only one service and he says therese not valid warranty in Turkey because of device bought from Germany , after that i call Turkey distributor of motorola to asking internatinal warranty , Thay said to me same thing There is not warranty at Turkey ( what is internationl warranty , Could anybody say to me ?)When i check my devices warranty paper and user Manuel (on the original box) and your website says this device under international warranty but Turkey office says differents?

It's not my email/sms indicator either. I've had the phone for 2 years now and have never seen this icon before. I've also not installed anything recently.

I was really looking forward to getting this phone and I am now quite disappointed (and disgusted by the service I was offered here in Malta!). I returned it to the shop where I bought it and was told that I have to have at least 5 dead pixels for me to be able to change it. Is this true?
It is still under guarantee as it hasn't even been a month since the date of purchase. They tried to feed me so much bull (including: the laws do not apply for Malta and that i had to go back within the first seven days EVEN THOUGH it clearly says on the guarantee that I have a 30-day period from the date of purchase to take it back).

It hard to notice only when the screen turns totally black such as power off and on the iPhone. I've just bought my iPhone 4s January from the Yoobee and I covered the screen with protective film once I had bought the phone. Do I really need to get a replacement?

I'm having an issue with my HTC One. I received notification of an update which I downloaded. The phone switched off and I then restarted it. The white start up screen showed, followed by a progress bar of a download, but now my phone is stuck on a black screen with two green arrows forming a circle with another one in the middle pointing down at a mobile phone. The phone is NOT charging. I can't turn the phone off.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA 2nd atrix in my house recently had a keyboard issue which prevented using the keyboard in the portrait mode. It responded but not correctly. Eagle328 suggested downloading another keyboard, which solved the keyboard use problem so that we can at least use it in portrait mode.
We have now realized that a specific area of the display on all home screens is "dead."
That is, if you divided the screen into 5 equal sections from top to bottom, the second section does not respond anywhere from left to right of that section.
Example 1: if you had your home page filled with app icons, you would have 20 icons. In the second row of icons (from the top), not one of the 4 would respond. All others would act normally.
Example 2: If you had 4 notifications and you pulled the screen down, you could tap the first one, the third one, and the fourth one and get a response...but the 2nd one would not respond because it ends up in that second section of the screen.
I'm thinking it is time to take the phone to the AT&T store, but wanted to throw this out first. As with most of you, this phone is used for business, and would be extremely inconvenient to take into town,... but afraid it may be that time.
If there is any solution for that and it will be worsen in the future or what?

I jut got my new 9700 today and am really liking it so far. I just want to check if the screen is ok. When i go to option -> status -> type test and do the screen test, it does not toggle after red. The red screen is the only one I can see. Is there any other dead pixel checker out there.

This red circle with the letter W in the middle appeared yesterday next to the envelope symbol for new msgs, etc. at the top of the main screen. It has a tiny arrow on the bottom right-hand edge, and a number 1 next to it. What is this? And where to I go to open it, read it, or see what's it's indicating?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI left my atrix charging at night and when i woke up the next day, the phone is off and wont turn on. Stuff I tried:
- Pulling the battery out,
- Charging with another chargers
- Charging the battery with an external battery charger
- Using a tester to see the battery voltage(it was OK)
- Connecting to the computer via USB (solid green led no charge, nor detected by computer)
It wont even turn on, show any errors or messages or leds, my atrix just became a brick by itself out of nowhere, it didnt get wet or fall down or anything like that.
I noticed that my LCD has a column of dark pixels when watching movies, when certain colors pass by. This prompted me to check it by running a couple dead pixel test screens. When I show pure red and blue screens, I can see the same column of pixels (or subpixels) stay black. By this, I mean an entire column of pixels, top to bottom. The pink/magenta screen is also affected but I assume this is because of the red subpixels. No other colors (white, black, yellow, green) are affected. If this was a single pixel, sure, I'd let it go. But having this many pixels be dead really bugs me. The problem is, however, that I bought this handset secondhand (off craigslist) and don't have the original receipt at hand. (therefore I have no warranty).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had a white spot on my screen that is about a 1/4" in diameter for a few weeks now. It is about an inch above the Z in the Verizon logo at the bottom of the screen. It only really shows up on white/light backgrounds such as webpages. I was living with it fine until a few days ago it appears that there is a huge amount of light bleed coming from the whole bottom of the screen now. It almost appears as if the LCD is separating from the screen and allowing light through.
If you take the battery cover off the phone and press on the battery where the spot is in the screen it causes a ripple/wave effect in the screeen, just like if you press on an LCD monitor. I assume that with use overtime the battery has heated/cooled and expanded into the LCD components of the phone, so when you press on it, it is probably directly touching the LCD components. I use my phones for music/movies/games and it is not uncommon for the back of the phone to get fairly warm under my usage.
I've had my phone about 11 months, I went by a VZW corporate store and they are sending me a refurb from what I gathered. But I'm guessing this is a battery/design issue and my new/refurb isn't going to make it much longer than 11 months or so.
This is kind of a question/fyi for people since a lot of DX users are probably nearing the 12 month mark of owning a DX.
Fill the second screen on the right of the main home screen with an item in every position.
Create a 3rd screen to the right of the 2nd screen by pulling another app out of the app drawer, holding down on any app and dragging it to the right to create 3rd screen.
Long press anywhere on the new 3rd screen to a view all existing home screens as seen in the snapshot.

quick question.....I have the Wi-Fi Xoom and just got my update to 3.1.....noticed what appear to be up and down arrows in the middle of the wi-fi icon in the bottom right of the screen.....checked the settings and all appears to be well....is the wi-fi trying to tell me something....or will this be the norm??
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure how to describe this annoyance, but hopefully someone knows how to resolve the issue.About a month ago I received a spam Email (AOL) which I have linked to the default Email client.I deleted the Email without opening the Email but ever since the header appears everytime I receive a new Email notification in the systray.Fortunately it wasn't anything of a comprmising nature just a sales pitch for the "Original Orgreenic Pan".I've tried removing the account as well as deleting the email cache to no avail.

I have over 800 apps on my phone and wondered if maybe it was that with the app draw trying to refresh and it taking too long. When I did a search people were having this problem with only having 20 or less added apps to their phone. Some even had this problem after having their phone refreshed. I can run the phone for days and use it with no problem and nothing and then out of the blue there it goes. I click the app drawer and the searching circle goes around and round and then the home screen will close and go to the last app or web page I was on and it could be one from a few days ago. I erase all the previous history and when the home screen closes it just refreshes the home screen. The only thing I can do is reboot and wait about 10 or so minutes and its all good till the next time. The question I am wondering is what is causing this. I had someone comment on links or widgets on the homescreen might be causing it. I removed some and it does not happen as much
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Sprint HTC One. I have an issue with my screen. One pixel at the bottom of the screen is pink in certain backgrounds. While this is not a deal breaker, it is very annoying and I want to fix it. It reappeared after about 2 weeks of it going away. The first time it came, I was on CyanogenMod 11. Now I am on 4.4.2 100% stock Sense. I have performed a factory reset. The pixel is pink even when in recovery and fastboot (no Android OS).
I attempted a screen flush with one of those flashing screen programs on Google Play store, and ran it for separate 10 hour and 8 hour intervals, with no luck. I bought this device used and the bootloader has been unlocked, so warranty claim is probably going to cost more than it is worth.
I bought my Xperia Z3 6 months ago. And 2 days ago my phone screen appeared green stuck pixel.
View 8 Replies View RelatedBasically on my LG G4 a grey bar appears when unlocking the screen. It happens every 1 in 5 times.
I go to unlock the screen and on my home screen theres a grey bar that builds up like a "loading bar" only halfway down the screen. (Screenshot below) To get rid of it i have to press the return button and then its gone, I've looked to see if any apps were open but nothing. Done a software reset and done the latest update to 5.1 the other day still happens.
Motorola Droid Turbo (v. 1) Ballistic - I have a dead spot on the upper left hand corner of the screen, annoyingly right where a menu or "back" navigation button usually is in an app. I have confirmed this one spot is dead to the touch with a screen tester. When I turn my phone off and back on, it reactivates the spot for a time, then eventually it goes dead again. This phone is less than 2 weeks old...I just got my settings just the way I like them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHad MPT 5.05, have updated it fully online - 5.31a. Downloaded Motorola Driver Installer 5.20 and did a Clean and Reinstall on those. Windows XP SP3 recognizes phone when plugged in with proper USB cable (Motorola OEM cable for this phone).Clients husbands phone, screen went dark, AT&T said they would have to repair the phone before being able to pull off contact list and photos. Plus charge for the process of pulling off. Right.First thing I noticed, if I plug the USB cable into the phone, then into the USB port on PC while phone is OFF, the outside screen lights up and inside screen lights up with HELLOMOTO splash screen, after a few moments, both screens go dark and will not come back on.
MPT sees that the phone is there, however, constantly returns that it is not ready due to possible OTA or starting up, wait... message when trying to find contacts on the phone.Question - is there something on the phone that needs to be done to put it into a mode where it can talk to the PC?uestion 2 - the screen is not DEAD as I can tell from the HELLOMOTO splash screen, what could be causing it to go dark when leaving that splash screen?
