Nokia :: 5800 - Dead Pixel On Screen
May 18, 2010I recently bought a 5800 and it has a dead pixel on the screen. I was really looking forward to getting this phone and I am now quite disappointed (and disgusted by the service I was offered here in Malta!). I returned it to the shop where I bought it and was told that I have to have at least 5 dead pixels for me to be able to change it. Is this true?
It is still under guarantee as it hasn't even been a month since the date of purchase. They tried to feed me so much bull (including: the laws do not apply for Malta and that i had to go back within the first seven days EVEN THOUGH it clearly says on the guarantee that I have a 30-day period from the date of purchase to take it back).

Dec 30, 2015I just get LG G3 and see 3 places with dead pixels, one is really hard to see but it is here, second is like 2x larger and third is 3x larger (its still really small point on screen). Its almost week over so i can send it back on next week.

When i go to option -> status -> type test and do the screen test, it does not toggle after red. The red screen is the only one I can see. Is there any other dead pixel checker out there.

It hard to notice only when the screen turns totally black such as power off and on the iPhone. Jul 4, 2011i bought My Motorola Defy Cell Phone (MB255) on 26 Feb 2011 from Germany(amazon) and i have used it until this week , When i writing a message suddenly my phone screen getting dark for 2 second and after that it was reset it self and i saw middle of the Phone Displays has dead defective line , it all pixels has dead in a line i can use my phone but there is not a line middle of the phone , it is annoying Now i am living in istanbul /Turkey and , i tried the connect authorized service centre in istanbul turkey , ,there is only one service and he says therese not valid warranty in Turkey because of device bought from Germany , after that i call Turkey distributor of motorola to asking internatinal warranty , Thay said to me same thing There is not warranty at Turkey ( what is internationl warranty , Could anybody say to me ?)When i check my devices warranty paper and user Manuel (on the original box) and your website says this device under international warranty but Turkey office says differents?

Feb 21, 2014I have a Sprint HTC One. I have an issue with my screen. One pixel at the bottom of the screen is pink in certain backgrounds. While this is not a deal breaker, it is very annoying and I want to fix it. It reappeared after about 2 weeks of it going away. The first time it came, I was on CyanogenMod 11. Now I am on 4.4.2 100% stock Sense. I have performed a factory reset. The pixel is pink even when in recovery and fastboot (no Android OS).
I attempted a screen flush with one of those flashing screen programs on Google Play store, and ran it for separate 10 hour and 8 hour intervals, with no luck. I bought this device used and the bootloader has been unlocked, so warranty claim is probably going to cost more than it is worth.

Nov 17, 2013I have the strangest stuck pixel. If I select the purple HTC one wallpaper 4th from the end from the stock wallpapers, I have a green stuck pixel on the right edge about halfway up.

Even though, I'm capturing the photos with worst quality like darkness. I have attached an image which was taken using my mobile with worst quality (i.e. Nokia X2). I had good trust on Nokia branded mobiles.

1) if I select only 5MP shooting, is there still a delay between shots?
2) what's the pixel length and width of a 5MP image?
3) not really a 5MP question, but how close can you get to your subject (I heard not as close as a 920)?

But I must say, I am missing the "macro" feature in the camera. I am an origami folder and this feature (earlier in K750i) helped me a lot to emphasize my origami models. And also what is the use of 3.2 mega pixel camera if I cannot zoom? Can any modding be done to get both "macro" and zoom options?

Jul 23, 2010I've updated my N97 wth v2.2 about a week ago or so. There was no problem updating. After the udate though, i started experiencing some problems. The phone kept restarting itself. As it restarts, a few lines (similiar to atomic absorptions spectra lines) appear on the screen. This bothered me, so i thought i'd reinstall the update. The update started successfully until the phone restarted but never waked up! Before this tho, the update kept failing (showing error that my phone was longer connected, I'm using OVI suite 2.2.0.245 ), but I kept disconnection the usb till the update started successfully. So what I want to tell you guys is that, watch out for v2.2 issues.

Dec 26, 2012I purchased a Nokia Lumia 920 white in SHARJAH on 16th December with a lot of excitement. But on 25th night the phone went dead & was not responding without a reason. I initially thought maybe its the battery drain. But that was not the case. I put it to charging the whole night & lo in the morning the phone wont switch on at all. I had a chat with the Nokia UAE hotline chat with a gentleman & online chat with a lady & all I got was a solace & conform rather than a sense of urgency to fix the problem.
I also did a little research here & on Microsoft Windows phone support for Middle East, looks like I am not the only one with this issue. There are quite a few such cases. Its quite disappointing that as a consumer I spend 2500 bucks for a defective piece of instrument & all I get to hear is that, we will look into this felt like quite dumb in fact.Since I had purchased it from a reputed (???) retailer, I went over this morning & returned back the instrument. I was told it may take more than two weeks to look at the problem & fix it & until then I am left high & dry.
So the next time you buy a NOKIA product, my advise is to be check the history on the manufacturers website for any grievances with the product by any customers before you get one especially if you are paying 2500 bucks. I am now aiting with my fingers crosses for my device to be sent to the nokia care by the retailer & returned back to me after a fix(hope it is a good fix !!!!!!). Until then I have to keep praying & hope for the best.
