I plugged in my phone to the computer via USB and clicked on upgrade. It started and I left for a coffee. Came back and my phone was dead and the computer said it was a old version of OVI (changed it yesterday, so it wasn't that old) and that I ought to upgrade it and try again. I can't start it now, it makes a buzz and then nothing more and it goes totally black again.I've tried to press 3 * answer button and the on/off button simultaneously without any luck. Sometimes it starts (with the screen turning greyish) but then nothing more and it shuts down totally again.
I have recently upgraded my Nokia 5800 to 50. version and after that I encountered the following problem with the music player: unable to finish reading library and add mp3 files, and, also, the volume control not available on side buttons when playing music.
I m unable to access gallery and music file on my Xperia X10i after upgrading it to 2.3.3. Its giving error as FORCE CLOSING android.process.media as its closed unexpectedly.
I bought N97 & transferred some music files from PC. Some them are copied to Menu<Music<Music Library. I want to delete these files. Can anybody guide me for this?
Also How the Music files under Application<Mass Memory<E:<Music can be played as playlist?
I had a similar issues on " General: System Error " Music file unable to save on music library the second one is corrupted music file unable to deleted on music library.
I've updated my N97 wth v2.2 about a week ago or so. There was no problem updating. After the udate though, i started experiencing some problems. The phone kept restarting itself. As it restarts, a few lines (similiar to atomic absorptions spectra lines) appear on the screen. This bothered me, so i thought i'd reinstall the update. The update started successfully until the phone restarted but never waked up! Before this tho, the update kept failing (showing error that my phone was longer connected, I'm using OVI suite 2.2.0.245 ), but I kept disconnection the usb till the update started successfully. So what I want to tell you guys is that, watch out for v2.2 issues.
Why does all the downloaded music go directly to the f: memory card, when downloading music from Ovi Music Store? It should be saved to the e: mass memory, but there is no settings in the application where to change the save location?. The phone automatically makes a folder named "Ovi Music Downloads" in the memory card. It should be created in the mass memory.
I accidentally uninstalled one of the components of an app (dictionary) which came with the phone, which rendered it unusable (keep saying word base missing), but it's fine as I have installed the nokia dictionary. The problem is: How do I remove the half-dead app? I can't uninstall it for some reason, I can't remove it from my list of apps, Or if Nokia (Nokia Taiwan ) would kindly provide me a SIS for me to re-install, that would be great too.
Since a couple of months I have a Nokia E75.The battery performance was never very good, but the last 2 months it has fallen to less than half a day. I already bought a new battery but that doesn't seems to be the problem.I have Handy Taskman to see which apps are running and I leave only email running with syncing to exchange every hour.Any ideas?
For 2 days my 5230 is without power in the morning and the alarm doesn't sound, making me late for work. Won't even power on.I fully recharged it yesterday morning and last night i checked battery level and just one bar was missing (85% full).no apps were running during night, just home screen and Menu. What could be the problem?
I have N95 since last three years was working perfect but the other day i put a usb car charger through usb port as soon as i put the charger on it has gone blank. don't comes on after that. changed the battery but no joy. could any body advise what has gone wrong and how can i fix it.
I received my phone on the day of release and its been workign since. It went off last night after I forgot to charge it and now its completely dead. I have tried all the usual tricks and tips, reset etc... nothing is working. Vodafone are being a nightmare to try and deal with.
I purchased a Nokia Lumia 920 white in SHARJAH on 16th December with a lot of excitement. But on 25th night the phone went dead & was not responding without a reason. I initially thought maybe its the battery drain. But that was not the case. I put it to charging the whole night & lo in the morning the phone wont switch on at all. I had a chat with the Nokia UAE hotline chat with a gentleman & online chat with a lady & all I got was a solace & conform rather than a sense of urgency to fix the problem.
I also did a little research here & on Microsoft Windows phone support for Middle East, looks like I am not the only one with this issue. There are quite a few such cases. Its quite disappointing that as a consumer I spend 2500 bucks for a defective piece of instrument & all I get to hear is that, we will look into this felt like quite dumb in fact.Since I had purchased it from a reputed (???) retailer, I went over this morning & returned back the instrument. I was told it may take more than two weeks to look at the problem & fix it & until then I am left high & dry.
So the next time you buy a NOKIA product, my advise is to be check the history on the manufacturers website for any grievances with the product by any customers before you get one especially if you are paying 2500 bucks. I am now aiting with my fingers crosses for my device to be sent to the nokia care by the retailer & returned back to me after a fix(hope it is a good fix !!!!!!). Until then I have to keep praying & hope for the best.
after an update with Nokia suite yesterday night my N8 wont start anymore. after initiating the update (25.xxx) it was downloading and starting the update. after a while it end with an errormessage. I do exactly remember but it was something like critical connection error. remove cable and restart the telefon for restoring your N8. After this the update will continue. But nothing like this happens. The n8 wont start. It vibrates on time and the display stays black. When i connect with USB cable, the windows USB connection sound appears and after about 5 seconds the disconnection sound appears. thats all. The charging LED is flashing for a while and after about 1 minute this also stops. Pressing the on/off button for abput 10 sec its vibrating 3 times and thats it. I bought this N8 in Libya. It had an aribic language set. I dont do any flashing or other experiments. But some days before i installed some Qt installation files manualy from the Qt symbian 3 development kit on the phone. I have done this for testing some small test applications which i produced with this kit. Maybe these causes the corruption of the phone. But the main question is how to wake up the phone? In the country where i am now is no Nokia service center available. But when i connect with USB cable two device driver are activated with name Nokia parent/generic flashing device
Insted of writing any hate speach i will just request Nokia to spend good time in testing products before releasing in market...silly thing are giving more bad publicity than doing any good for Nokia. Now, can anyone tell me how do i solve this SMS problem... under all profiles, General, Outdoor etc.. the phone does not give any alert (sound or vibrate).I read other blogs, deleted all the SMS, inbox, outbox (also faced problem deleting MMS...deferred)...Even after deleting all messages by select all and delete..the conversation still shows them all...and there is no way to delete them...Bottom line... what needs to be done to get SMS notification..sound/vibrate back in place on N8?
Yesterday a message appeared on my Nokia 808: 'important software update available'. I went ahead with the installation; it informed me that it needed to restart and then I got a white screen with a dialog box saying something along the lines of "don't try to make calls during installation". Okay, sure.
I went to the bathroom and when I got back, black screen. The 3 physical buttons at the bottom were all lit up. I left it alone for about 10 minutes, still the same. I then tried to press & hold the power button, but nothing happened. Decided to leave it overnight.
This morning, the 3 buttons were no longer lit up. Removed & re-inserted battery, nothing. Tried various 3 and 4 finger salutes found online, nothing. Tried to connect to to PC, menu button starts flashing (presumably that's an indication it's charging?). Nokia Suite doesn't recognise the device, but it will ocassionally tell me I connected a Nokia device via a non-compatible USB mode, and it will also give me 'device disconnected' messages. Hmm.
Note that my battery was close to full before I started the update.
Okay, so it's not 100% dead at least, but I'm guessing I'm gonna have to RMA it. Wanted to check here first though.
I've got a Nokia E71-2 RM-357 and the current firmware is 200.21.118. After checking online with the product code what firmware I am eligeble for, apparently that is the latest one, however I am seeing a LOT of people enjoying 410.21.010.Is it at all possible for me to upgrade to this version? Or something newer at least? I'm having some issues with my E71 turning off on its own and doing some very random things.
just as mentioned, i bought n97mini and tried to use its gps function in UK. it worked perfectly before i upgraded but after i downladed the nokia ma loader and upgrade map in my mibilephone, navagtion , my location, maps all could not find even 1 gps signal...i tried online with internet(WIFI)/ WAP , but nothing happened.
One day when I was in a lodge in the medium of the mountain (no signal, no wifi, only SUDOKU), I wake up, press on my phone, and I can look a dark character in the medium of the LCD, I try restarting, restore the factory settings, blah, blah, and the dark character still growing. I donīt know if this is for a virus or hardware problems. I attach the photo. In other hand, I call to the costumer service and there tells I have no guarantee, because I buy the cell phone in other country. The joke is that: the first step to buy this was call to nokia support and there tell me, buy that, no problem, you have guaranty here too.
I tried to update my phone's firmware from v4.13 to v5.16. I downloaded NSU and everything was fine until at some point during the update I had to recover the connection,a couple of times, but after that according to NSU the update was successful.
I looked at my 5320 XpressMusic and it's screen's backlight was turn on but the screen was black, the keyboard and everything else were(and have been since then) off and showed no signs of life. I removed the battery and tried to turn in on but all I got was a vibration and backlight,no sound no handshake no nothing.I can't even turn it off so I have to mess with the battery every single time i want it to restart......
I've had my N900 for a few days now and it is an impressive device.I have in the last day or two noticed that the screen has a number of dead pixels. They stand out when using the device in a dark environment and I noticed them when I was powering up the device. Its not just one pixel but several. I thought the days of dead pixels were long gone so I am a little disappointed that this has occurred. So I was wondering if other N900 users have notices this same problem as well and would Nokia replace the device?
I recently upgraded to firmware v50.0.005.C01.01 but ever since I cannot get bluetooth to be on. Whenever I try to switch it on it just pops up with an "unable to perform bluetooth operation. I did the three finger salute (hard reset) but no joy. Anyone know if there is perhaps some other setting that blocks bluetooth? Or is there some more technical way to find out what is failing?
My 5800s USB connection seems to be totally dead. I get no beep on the phone when I plug in the USB cable (tried on 3 different PCs) and I get no prompt asking what mode I want to use, i.e. PC Suite Mode, Mass Storage etc.The phone does not appear under "Devices and Printers" in Windows 7, nor does it appear under "Device Manager".So there is zero connectivity between the phone and the computer.
I've ordered a new micro USB cable from ebay to see if it helps, but the one I am using now doesn't look damaged in any way.
During an OTA Ovi Store software update the phone froze with a white screen and all buttons including power button dead .
Removed battery and reset gets past boot screen then message memory card full ( 16 GB so i dont think so at all )
Fails to connect im mass storage mode so i cannot format the card . *#7370# and attempt at 3 button trick got knowhere .
Managed to format the memory card but it still refuses to connect via mass storage or PC Suite .After *#7370# Opening file manager results in a never ending opening message .Any further ideas before i take the memory card back to CPW ( who also sold the phone )
I recently bought a 5800 and it has a dead pixel on the screen. I was really looking forward to getting this phone and I am now quite disappointed (and disgusted by the service I was offered here in Malta!). I returned it to the shop where I bought it and was told that I have to have at least 5 dead pixels for me to be able to change it. Is this true?
It is still under guarantee as it hasn't even been a month since the date of purchase. They tried to feed me so much bull (including: the laws do not apply for Malta and that i had to go back within the first seven days EVEN THOUGH it clearly says on the guarantee that I have a 30-day period from the date of purchase to take it back).
I've had an N97 for 5 months, yesterday my battery drained completely, a normal drained, I didn't try to turn it on. I connected the charger to the phone and the white screen with nokia came up (first the white screen, then the blue nokia word). The usual symbol for the battery didn't show up. I left it like that, thinking it was charging. Then, I tried to turn on the phone but it didn't turn on, it stayed with the white nokia screen. I tried taking the battery off and putting it again and the same happened, checked the battery with a firend, it actually charged to 6 bars, but my phone won't start (also, tested with my friend's N97 battery). Connecting to PC has the same problem, the Pc doesn't realize something is connected.
Tried to leave it alone for without touching, and waiting hours for the white nokia screen to go away but nothing happens.
I've been loving the Lumia 800 since I got it bar a few problems getting it turn on, but this one takes the cake. Last night I was using my phone before I went to sleep and the battery died so I put it to one side. This morning I go to charge the phone and I'm getting very very little response from the phone. Once I plug the charger in the phone vibrates twice, although the second time it appears to be getting 'cut off.' At no point is anything visible on the screen.
Tried to use the laptop and I get the USB connection sound from my PC, however it then plays the 'removed USB device' sound and there's no indication the phone's connected.
The only technique that gets any kind of response is the 'soft reset', holding the power button and bottom volume button for 10 seconds which gets my carrier's logo up on screen before it quickly dies.
As this is my only phone I'm getting rather stressed about this. I really do need my phone in the week. Would you guys suggest I take it to one of my carrier's shop or try and go through Nokia themselves?
So dissapointed because it's my favourite phone I've ever owned, and now it's useless and causing me a lot of undue stress.
