I tried to update my phone's firmware from v4.13 to v5.16. I downloaded NSU and everything was fine until at some point during the update I had to recover the connection,a couple of times, but after that according to NSU the update was successful.
I looked at my 5320 XpressMusic and it's screen's backlight was turn on but the screen was black, the keyboard and everything else were(and have been since then) off and showed no signs of life. I removed the battery and tried to turn in on but all I got was a vibration and backlight,no sound no handshake no nothing.I can't even turn it off so I have to mess with the battery every single time i want it to restart......
Got the phone in trade, so no warranty...Phone works perfectly fine before any of this happens. Basically got the nokia software, updated ect. Go to update the firmware and do what the instructions says. It downloads the firmware and starts to install...halfway through says cable disconnected. Clearly it is not, but i do what the instructions says to reconnect it. It tells me to disconnect, take out batter, reinsert usb then battery and then hit retry. Works, but same problem, halfway thought it "disconnects". After trying this about 5 times i give up. I hit cancel. Now the phone is dead, nothing, can't hard reset, can't turn on. NOTHING.Currently have the phone without battery as someone online (googled) had similar situation and he left the phone for 6hours and it magically worked again...i don't think it will work but i have to try...
Yesterday evening Ovi Suite proposed new firmware (14.002). I tried to install it, which was a mistake During the installation Suite lost connection to the phone and as I checked the phone it was in test mode. It didn't respond to any keys so I had to remove the battery. After that the phone has been dead. When I try to boot it up or try to hard reset it with three-finger-salute the only response is a short vibration. After vibration the phone stays dead.Removing battery does not change anything.
I have (or better to say "had") a Nokia E66 and Nokia Software updater just completely and unrepairable (said by official service) destroyed my E66 few days after warranty ended. It is unbelievable! I was successfully using it every day until the software update. Software Updater wrote that cell phone is disconnected and I must reconnect it. I have done it many times but every time it failed. So I took cell phone to official service and they told me that they cannot flash it and only way to repair it is to replace mainboard. How is that possible? It worked very fine until software action! So I am supposed to throw my E66 to trash and buy another cell phone? Well, if yes, then not Nokia again. I want to own cell phone which is able to flash phone software without destroying whole phone!
I recently upgraded to firmware v50.0.005.C01.01 but ever since I cannot get bluetooth to be on. Whenever I try to switch it on it just pops up with an "unable to perform bluetooth operation”. I did the three finger salute (hard reset) but no joy. Anyone know if there is perhaps some other setting that blocks bluetooth? Or is there some more technical way to find out what is failing?
my nokia is a 5320, GPS position works fine, i used it today and added a position and then went on to the maps and it was just blank. I have never used ovi maps before am i doing something wrong? do i have register it or something?
my phone cannot send message..but my phone can received message...outgoing and incoming call also no problem...i've try to switch my SIM card to other phone...it seems to be ok...but..when i switch back to 5320..the same problem occur....
I've updated my N97 wth v2.2 about a week ago or so. There was no problem updating. After the udate though, i started experiencing some problems. The phone kept restarting itself. As it restarts, a few lines (similiar to atomic absorptions spectra lines) appear on the screen. This bothered me, so i thought i'd reinstall the update. The update started successfully until the phone restarted but never waked up! Before this tho, the update kept failing (showing error that my phone was longer connected, I'm using OVI suite 2.2.0.245 ), but I kept disconnection the usb till the update started successfully. So what I want to tell you guys is that, watch out for v2.2 issues.
I downloaded the right ovi appstore version... and i plugged in my new nuron 5320 or 5230 whatever the number is... I selected pc suite mode.. the ovi suite does not seem to pick it up.. it cant connect with it. I have installed all the drivers by previously selecting the mass storage mode and it installed drivers but its not working... Im using windows vista SP 2
Since yesterday the phone keeps getting stuck on "Opening" when I get in any of the galleries (Photos, Videos, Animations, etc.), and when I try to access any of the multimedia content via /Config/General/Personalization, and stuff like that. The only way to access it its through File Administration. It gets a little slow opening the pics and videos, but get the job done, however, it isn't the same thing.Any thoughts on how can I fix it? I has been driving me mad.
My settings say "Use access point - After Confirmation" for the Internet access point in my "Network destinations". But when I start the browser, there is no warning message.
after an update with Nokia suite yesterday night my N8 wont start anymore. after initiating the update (25.xxx) it was downloading and starting the update. after a while it end with an errormessage. I do exactly remember but it was something like critical connection error. remove cable and restart the telefon for restoring your N8. After this the update will continue. But nothing like this happens. The n8 wont start. It vibrates on time and the display stays black. When i connect with USB cable, the windows USB connection sound appears and after about 5 seconds the disconnection sound appears. thats all. The charging LED is flashing for a while and after about 1 minute this also stops. Pressing the on/off button for abput 10 sec its vibrating 3 times and thats it. I bought this N8 in Libya. It had an aribic language set. I dont do any flashing or other experiments. But some days before i installed some Qt installation files manualy from the Qt symbian 3 development kit on the phone. I have done this for testing some small test applications which i produced with this kit. Maybe these causes the corruption of the phone. But the main question is how to wake up the phone? In the country where i am now is no Nokia service center available. But when i connect with USB cable two device driver are activated with name Nokia parent/generic flashing device
Yesterday a message appeared on my Nokia 808: 'important software update available'. I went ahead with the installation; it informed me that it needed to restart and then I got a white screen with a dialog box saying something along the lines of "don't try to make calls during installation". Okay, sure.
I went to the bathroom and when I got back, black screen. The 3 physical buttons at the bottom were all lit up. I left it alone for about 10 minutes, still the same. I then tried to press & hold the power button, but nothing happened. Decided to leave it overnight.
This morning, the 3 buttons were no longer lit up. Removed & re-inserted battery, nothing. Tried various 3 and 4 finger salutes found online, nothing. Tried to connect to to PC, menu button starts flashing (presumably that's an indication it's charging?). Nokia Suite doesn't recognise the device, but it will ocassionally tell me I connected a Nokia device via a non-compatible USB mode, and it will also give me 'device disconnected' messages. Hmm.
Note that my battery was close to full before I started the update.
Okay, so it's not 100% dead at least, but I'm guessing I'm gonna have to RMA it. Wanted to check here first though.
I work with a Nokia C5-00 operator locked (Movistar Spain) one month ago. When I connect it thru Ovi Suite (in a Windows 7 box), a firmware update was available, and yesterday I tried to do the upgrade.
Ovi Suite detected my phone, and a few moments later, backup its contents, and started to download the new firmware. Troubles came when Ovi Suite began to do the update, as it failed with a "Network Connect Error" when started to do the process.
Screen of my phone went completely white, and after disconnecting the USB cable, the phone simply died, except when I press the red button (it makes a vibration, but screen doesn't turn on). If I reconnect the phone to the computer, Windows try to install a "Nokia USB ROM" device, but unsuccessfully.
My Nokia E6-00 is now dead, screen doesn't power up and Ovi Suite / PC doesn't regognize it. I upgraded Ovi suite to 3.90 prior installing this new firmware for the phone, during the firmware upgrade there was a error. It didn't connect to the phone anymore. Even if I did what the Ovi Suite suggested, battery off, usb cord back to the phone, battery back and then power on - still the upgrade wouldn't continue. I tried at least twice.
Situation is so that the phone haven't a firmware at all? Is the only way to get my phone working again, by going to a Nokia Care Point and let them flash it?
My mobile fell down and nothing happen 4 3 days. But after 3 days, its screen started to blink, i switched it off and switched it on again after a few minutes. And i saw tht the screen became blue. What should i do???
I'm base in Sydney Australia and have just received a msg from Nokia that I can update my firmware for my N900.(firmware version 10.2010.19.)The problem is that I receive a message that I could not update because of: poor-quality ,slow or intermittent internet connection. This could also be because of problems with our servers. Is it that NSU does not support N900 and if so why would Nokia sell a phone and not provide software to update the phone with.
I updated my N8 to Belle using Nokia Suite few hours ago. Half hour ago my phone has switched itself off and can't start it. When I press the power button it shows Nokia and after that the loading screen (those 5 white points) for like 30 second with the menu button light turned on and after that it shuts down.

I wanted to intsall Mail For Exchange, and the Nokia E72 NAM doesnt seem to have it when I bought it (unless you can direct me to it). I decided to follow the instructions to install it, but it requires me to update the ovi store. I dont know if this will update the firmware as well, but i heard that the newest firmware (v031.032 i believe) is very buggy, so i want to avoid this until another firmware comes out.Can someone help? if its already on the phone, i just need to know where it is. If its not on the phone, will updating the ovistore affect anything in terms of new firmware or other sorts? The reason i want to install this is to utilize the google calendar so i dont have to keep plugging the e72 into the computer (and possibly damaging the plastic usb cover).
22.007 has been out since forever, and it's basically only the second update since this phone was introduced. Has Nokia forgotten the E72? It sure needs a firmware update: -Little available memory, applications (especially the browser with a big website) terminate for nothing and "memory full" messages occur very frequently. This is actually the biggest issue. -The camera application sometimes is quite buggy and even the phone restarts after a photo is taken. -videos have some lag, especially if you zoom while shooting and using the phone memory doesn't help very much. -sometimes (especially in the ovi store app) if you start typing in a box the first two letters appear in the opposite order than typed. -The gallery application can't be terminated using the app manager (by pressing the home button for a couple of seconds) when the app is hidden. -The trackpad sensitivity could be improved (especially when using it in the browser).
i want to update my nokia e75 via usb cable.actual firmware is 110.48.125 new firmware is 202.12.01.i tried it with *#0000#.look for updates.connection failed...i have tried it even over ovi suite and nokia pc suite.firmware is downloaded to my pc. but during installation, i get following report; installation failed, check usb cable ....if i transfer videos or pictures over ovi suite or nokia pc suite, i don"t have any problems. it"s working perfekt without breaking
So far it is working fine, battery does not last like my N95. I 've been reading a lot of blogs about people having issues after updating firmware, i am currently running 1.2009.44-1.002
I called Nokia to ask if they have any updates and the rep told me to wait because pple are having issues and they expect to roll one out soon. Soon with no date. My question is, should I update the firmware, and whats the best way to do it so i don't run into issues ?
I'm currently running firmware version 20.2.019 and when I put my phone's info (RM-507, product code 0576111) into Nokia's website it tells me V21.2.045 is available. However, when I try to download the firmware via OTA or NSU, it tells me no updates are available. What would be preventing me from updating the firmware? Is there another way to download it or is my only option sending the phone to Nokia?
The update seems to be great with the following exeption:
It has rendered the music player almost unusable!
With the previous music player, you could press the "Back" button and it would take you to your list of music or podcasts. Now the "Back" button just dumps you all the way out to the phone's home screen (just like the end button.) Now, in order to go to your playlist you have to "options", "go to music library", "albums (or podcasts or playlist etc)" then find the album or playlist you were playing, then find your song or track. That's 5 more steps than necessary. The back button is very inportant with the way this media player was designed. You can't just eliminate it in such a way. What good is the improved scroling in the music player if you take away our ability to navigete.
This would be such an easy fix. Just make the Music player's "Back" buton do what it used to do instead of duplicating what the "end call" button already does.
The media player on a device is very inportant. The one on this device is very ordinary. But i put up with it because I am a loyal and very very patient nokia user. I waited 8 long months for this update. And now you just took my media player away. You are very close to making a 12 year nokia user switch to Android. Nokia, please give me back my "back" button. and don't make me wait a long time for it.
in the last week of 2009 i got a text messege from "MyNokia" service notifying that there was a new firmware update for my n82, the v35 i think. The thing is, until today it is unnavailable in the NSU. Anyone updated it already or still waiting like me?
I'd be very interested in hearing (please) users experiences with the latest firmware update for the E71 (v.410.21.010). Is this a worthwhile update, or does it result in more problems than it solves?
I believe that it adds the latest OviMaps with Voice Navigation, but that can be added by a direct download/installation.Are there any other must have components to the v410.21.010 firmware?Having experienced a lot of grief the last time I upgraded my fw <E71-firmware-update-messed-up-data-connections>, I am being slightly more cautious this time.
I've just attempted to update my E72 to the latest firmware using the OTA feature. In fact I made the upgrade via my WIFI connection. The downlod succeeded, then the E72 updated the firmware and rebooted. The problem is that my E72 isn't rebooting at all. After it switched off (for the reboot cycle) it could not start anymore. When I'm powering it on, the display shows some background activities, then there is a line and finally it switches off.It seems that the firmware update broke the OS. Has anyone encountered a similar behavior ?
