Motorola Atrix 4G :: After Recent Update, It Thinks It's Always Charging
Mar 1, 2012
I have an Atrix 4G, I am running Android version 2.3.6 and the build number is 4.5.141 I completed the recent update last night and everything seems fine except...I charged the phone overnight and when I unplugged it this morning, the phone continued to indicate that it is charging. There's a little Harry-Potter-lighting-bolt on the battery symbol in the top right corner, and the battery symbol is constantly going through the animation of "filling up" as it does when it's charging. Also, when the screen times-out and I press the power button on the back, I see the message "charging (80%)." (Needless to say, my phone isnot plugged in.) The percentage of the charge slowly decreases over the course of the day, as it would normally.I guess this problem isn't affecting my ability to use the phone, but it's odd and alarming to see something as basic as this fail to work properly after the update.
I completed an update on my Atrix on Monday morning. Since then I have not been able to view my pictures that I took before the update. Some of my music files will not play or are no longer visible. I do not have the option to set up the facelock option, I also do not appear to have a phonebook any longer. Was my update incomplete? Is something wrong with my memory/micro SD card? Or is something else wrong with my phone?
So I noticed it for the first time on 2/25. My lapdock 500 doesn't charge properly anymore. I posted it first in the Lapdock forum, but now I post it here, because I noticed it doesn't charge properly only when Razr is docked. So I think it is the Razr issue and not the Lapdock issue.
When Razr is docked its battery will charge fully, however, the lapdock's battery will just sit there with the lightning bolt visible, but is not charging (24% currently). The phone's battery status continuously changes between Full/Discharging/Full..
The dock starts charging just fine as soon as the Razr is undocked. Any thoughts?
Edit: So I just noticed the Lapdock battery will charge only if the phone battery that is docked is not full. As soon as the phone battery is full the Lapdock battery stops charging.
Forget about it all. My Lapdock died today completely. Got a new one and everything is working just fine.
After a recent upgrade I noticed I cannot initiate a call via my bluetooth with the phone locked. I was able to do it with the earlier version. Using Plantronics Pro bluetooth. Is this a proprietary block to aftermarket bluetooth devices?? Is there a setting I am missing. Oh, I checked the box under Location and Security for Bluetooth Bypass, which, I thought would have taken care of the matter since it directly addresses the issue, and is new to the list.
I just upgraded to the Atrix 4G from the iphone. find the answers too. Is there a way to clear the recent calls list, and text msgs with one single command for each instead of clearing each call one at a time and doing the same for txt msg's
I have lost all of my music downloads and all of my recent photo's out of my gallery. What the Heck!!!!! Also when you go to photo gallery there are no picture tabs. Just the other day all of my contacts names and pics were gone but now have reappeared. I beleive this happened after I powerd the phone off. When I turned it back on there were updates that I installed but it seems to have happened like the next day or so. Is there anyway to get my stuff back? I can't find it anywhere in the phone. The first time it happened I loss all of my Easter pics. This can't be normal right? The only thing that remains in my phone are my blackberry transfers.
Is there a setting to allow a caller to be heard through the vehicle speakers while not muting the microphone?
The reason I ask is when I connect the Photon to the vehicle navigation dock it defaults the calls to speakerphone (not the vehicle speakers) and if I turn the speakerphone off the caller can be heard through the car speakers BUT the caller cannot hear me.
When i go to recent calls in the calling menu instead of saying what time the call was made or recieved it simply says roughly how long ago it was made.. this is annoying.
Everything was working fine until last night when I did the recent update. I updated fine, synced a new playlist charged up and popped out for a run this morning. Very surprisingly the GPS picked up straight away but it was very quickly apparent that the audio had gone. I say gone but not completely.. there was no 'workout started' and no music playing. 1st thing was to obviously turn the volume up which when max volume was reached I did hear the beep.
Next after removing the headphones, plugging them into my phone and using the free app that plays music to the beat of my steps (brilliant) i got home and did a factory reset. No difference, can hear the max volume beep but nothing else, I've tried other headphones and the same. When I go to the music and press play nothing happens literally.. no pause button comes up... it must be registering the headphones because I can hear the max volume beep but its the only thing I can think..
I have the D1, I can receive text messages just fine from my sisters phone, but not my friends phone, they both receive my text just fine. My friend said he had recently got an update, if there was an update, what is the current build so I can verify mine, this issue has been going on for 1 to 2 weeks now. I use the stock text app as well as handcent. my friend uses only the stop app. any ideas as it is getting really irritating
I have reset my Atrix but having several issues. The phone will not accept charging and battery is dangerously low. If I can get past this I have further known issues (getting past Motoblur, Wifi error, others). how to get the battery charging so I can troubleshoot?
Running XP and installed the driver software. When I connect the phone the USB connection comes up and the green led goes on. But it does not charge the phone and I don't see the phone in windows explorer. If on the phone I switch the USB to mass storage I get the notification "Found new hardware" MB680 but it's unable to find/install the driver. Why does it not find the correct driver, I installed the driver from http://www.motorola.com/Support/US-EN/Support-Homepage/Software_and_Drivers/USB-and-PC-Charging-DriversI have done the same on another PC and that worked correctly.
ever since new update on ATRIX 4g I noticed that led light wont come on after charging the phone and being 100% charge anyone else having this problem, there anything I can do for having this back on my phone.
My 3 week old Atrix 2 will nolonger charge from the AC adapter that was included with the phone. It will only charge when connected to a computers USB port.
I've tried:
an old Iphone AC adapter car charger different USB cable removing SD card removing and reinstalling battery factory reset
When I dock my Atrix 4G (stock with 2.3.4 OTA update) with my new lapdock, I get the bouncing red logo on the lapdock and only two choices on the phone...Entertainment center and dismiss. I am able to play music, view pictures, etc on the lapdock screen if I select the Entertainment center option, but the keyboard on the lapdock does nothing. I have to use the controls on the phone to control it. And it appears that I can enable/disable the touchpad by double tapping the upper left corner.
Whenenever I plug my phone in to my laptop to charge, the folders I created on the phone are immediately emptied. To be clear, the programs stille exist on the phone. It's just that the folders get emptied of nearly all of their contents.
It happens as soon as I plug the phone into the computer with the ethernet cord--it doesn't matter if I transfer any data.
Also, this problem does not happen when I charge the phone via an electrical outlet. It only happens when connecting my phone via the laptop. Recreating the contents of these folders is getting frustrating.
I just purchased the Standard Dock and I must say, it is a very nice and works well charging my phone while watching movies and stuff. I was wondering, can use its cord to charge my phone? From what I understand, the dock is a rapid charger, but won't over charge the Atrix.
My Atrix will not charge or turn on. While charging the green led blinks sometimes. When I press the power button the led goes solid for about 3 seconds then goes off but the phone never turns on.
I left my atrix charging at night and when i woke up the next day, the phone is off and wont turn on. Stuff I tried:
- Pulling the battery out, - Charging with another chargers - Charging the battery with an external battery charger - Using a tester to see the battery voltage(it was OK) - Connecting to the computer via USB (solid green led no charge, nor detected by computer)
It wont even turn on, show any errors or messages or leds, my atrix just became a brick by itself out of nowhere, it didnt get wet or fall down or anything like that.
When I connect my phone to a wall charger (provided my Motorola), the touch screen responds rarely (slowly). As soon you disconnect the charger it works fine. I had talked to Motorola specialist over the phone and she provided me with a new charger. However, the problem still persists.
Yesterday, I used a Blackberry charger (with very close voltage and current output) and the phone worked fine.
My phone decides it want to reboot itself. I mean, I certainly don't know how my phone is feeling, so it can take the initiative and give itself a good rebooting when it needs it. Also, I don't know what motorola is making their batteries out of, but when I turn my phone off (or it decides to) I suddenly have more battery than I did previously. This kind of technology should be used more often so we never run out of juice on batteries of any kind.
Just notice my phone just prompted new update 4.3.13 available for download. My existing version is 4.3.10 Anyone know what are the updates in 4.3.13.My phone is from Singtel - Singapore, non-rooted, original rom.
I got the Gingerbread update the end of last week and for the most part everything is great. Phone is much more responsive overall and the Motoblur updates seem good as well. I am having one new problem though. Three times now I've unplugged my phone from the charger in the morning and it has been locked up. The green notification light is flashing so it's not totally dead. No combination of keys will wake it up though. Have to pull the battery to reset it (which is a pain with the Body Glove case).
I got the 3.1 OTA update yesterday afternoon on my WiFi Xoom, but since then, the Xoom won't charge. When plugged in, the charging indicator doesn't light and the battery icon in the notification area doesn't indicate charging. Charging worked fine before the update. What I've tried so far to no avail:
Different outlets Wiggling the connector Power off/on Factory reset
Unfortunately, I don't have another charger to try.Given that a factory reset didn't fix it and others aren't reporting this issue, I'm guessing that it's just a conincidence that charging died after the update and something is broken either in the charger or the Zoom's charging circuitry.
I was wondering if there was any word on the first/newest software update to the Motorola Atrix 2? I love this phone. I also loved the original Atrix, but with so many software issues on their latest update, and much complaining to AT&T that since Mototola's fix was to say forget it and make the Atrix 2, that should be my fix...I got AT&T to give me the Atrix 2 for free!!.Like I said I like this phone just as much as the original Iphone. So when I went in for my upgrade in August, instead of getting the Iphone 4 like everyone (and knowing the I4S was around the corner) I wanted something different. I get new phones all the time. The Atrix and Atrix 2 have been my favorites. I've had 0 issues. So if anyone knows if theres any software updates in the works, which im sure I get automatically anyway, let me know!
I have a Middle East Region Motorola Atrix with froyo 2.2.2 As Gingerbread is released in US few days back so Can anybody tell me when NON US ATRIX phones are supposed to be updated to Gingerbread and do i have to update it through Software update tool or OTA update.
