Does any know of a way to 'relink' the market shortcut at the top of the app drawer? Since Google updated the Market to the 'Play Store' that link at the top no longer works.
View 15 RepliesI prefer Froyo's vertical scroll in the app drawer as opposed to Ice Cream Sandwiches paginated flip like the iPhone... how do I change it back? It's a lot more work for me to flip through pages than just scroll at the speed I want and stop when I see the app. On a related note, how do I get back the long-press widgets that I can scroll through? The paginated widgets are even more painful to flip through.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was wanting to know if anyone had an issue with the home screen stopping. I have over 800 apps on my phone and wondered if maybe it was that with the app draw trying to refresh and it taking too long. When I did a search people were having this problem with only having 20 or less added apps to their phone. Some even had this problem after having their phone refreshed. I can run the phone for days and use it with no problem and nothing and then out of the blue there it goes. I click the app drawer and the searching circle goes around and round and then the home screen will close and go to the last app or web page I was on and it could be one from a few days ago. I erase all the previous history and when the home screen closes it just refreshes the home screen. The only thing I can do is reboot and wait about 10 or so minutes and its all good till the next time. The question I am wondering is what is causing this. I had someone comment on links or widgets on the homescreen might be causing it. I removed some and it does not happen as much
View 5 Replies View RelatedAs I have read about ICS and the G Nexus on many forums it came to my attention that the notification tones and the ringtones are permanently linked together. I am extremely dissapointed to hear this. I am enjoying my Razr, but wait excitedly for ICS to come to my Razr. Now I am concerned. I am hoping that this can be passed on to Motorola developers and see if something can be done. I have already posted something in the Goggle mobile forums as well, I am not sure if it will be seen or not.Prior to ICS we have been able to link and unlink our notification sounds and ringtone as we see fit. I like to have mine linked in the day to run off one volume control and then unlink at night to silence all notifications, but keep my ringtone available in case of emergencies. Having text messages, email, and various other notifications wake me up at night is unacceptable. I am not sure why this feature had to change. I am hoping it was a gross oversight and can be easily corrected. I am posting this here in hopes that if Google doesn't change it that Motorola can in the version it releases to it's devices.
From reading forums I know I am not alone in this opinion. Many people do the same as me including the 5 droids that live in my home. :) Please moderators when you read this pass my concern on to the appropiate place. I am not a developer so I have no idea what goes into writing the software, but I just can't see what is so drastic in ICS that this feature had to be taken out.
I got the ICS update, but now my smart actions cannot control notification volume...? Also, I cannot link volumes anymore, so the volume buttons do nothing for me anymore. Turn down ringer, sure....but then notifications and alerts just blast through without having to manually adjust each one! Why was this removedAlso, since the update, the emal widget only allows you to select either one account to display, or all combined?? Why? I have 6 accounts...combined view is just a mess. On GB, you could select the account right there on the widget. Now, you have to go into the email, then switch it. Even then, the widget reverts to the first one you set up. This is annoying and I do not get why this would be removed?That is the same for the news widget and the social media app...where did they go? They were better than any other widgets out there and now they are gone...unless I am just looking in the wrong place?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was putting in my micro sd card on my 3 week old razr when I noticed it broke the screen above the sd slot and now the whole screen is busted. A freakish issue but Verizon claims it is not covered under normal warranty until told by motorolo. Anyone else had or heard of this issue? I really wish it was covered under Motorola but don't know yet.

I had a update notification for some of the Razr apps and i see old apps that i have uninstalled when i had my Samsung Vibrant. Do they stay there indefinitely even though there uninstalled and not running?
I have like 15 updates already. Is there a way to delete Netflix? I'm guessing only the Downloaded apps that are in "Applications" can be deleted right?
My sweet daughter thought my phone needed to take a flight and threw is down some stairs on some nice hard tile. Needless to say, my screen broke and I have a new phone arriving today. But I had a few text that I had protected because they were important to me (one a picture of my baby and the second her first text she ever sent) and wondering if there is a way to access the phone through my computer and retrieve the text messages? I can open up the phone folders on my computer, but not sure if there is anything I can do from there.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a regular RAZR that had the screen self-destruct last Friday, I have no idea why, as it did not touch anything, just cracked...but that is beside the point. I got the insurance replacement phone on Monday, and realized that my SMS backup app decided to save the backed up texts on the phone's internal memory instead of the sd card, like you would expect it to, as you are backing things up in case something like this happens...I went to retrieve the file from the internal storage by connecting it to my computer and here is the weird thing that happens when i do that:
When I go into Computer on Windows 7, it shows the motocast removable drive, and two other ghosted removable drives, that would normally be the MOTO and sd card drives, but for some reason it says that they ccannot be opened because a disk needs to be inserted into the drives..I have no idea what I can do to get around this and access the internal storage.
First, the only one that I'm allowed to choose to map to the double click home key is Voice Commands. If that isn't annoying enough, I also can not figure out how to access Voice Search at all, and Google Now requires actually interacting with the device to launch (I'm going for a handsfree/bluetooth solution here).
Second, Voice Commands is missing functionality. It has a "goto" feature, but it never works. It says I have to set up the shortcuts in the settings. However when I go into settings there is nothing there for setting up the shortcuts. Sometimes if I hit it just right I can tap the GoTo button and it takes me to a list of functions and I am able to select it, and it works for a little while, but inevitably when I go back to use it again the GoTo function is once again dead. I know this because instead of opening navigation or maps or Google Now (as I had set up before) it constantly prompts me to call someone or cancel, or some other function that is NOT GoTo. At least if I could change the default behavior of what launches I could work around this frustration by using Google Now or even a 3rd party application, but my menu has predefined choices and none of them are Google Now or 3rd party.
Switched to a Turbo from an htc one (m7) and it had all the google services and verizon software in folders on the app drawer by default, was wondering how to create them in the app drawer on the turbo to mimic that.

I thought maybe I accidently downloaded it after my factory reset but it does not exist in my appbrain or market apps lists. When I click on it, all that happens is that the App drawer reloads. It is not listed as a widget either. Does anyone else see this in their app drawer or know how I may have gotten it or what it is supposed to do?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI purchased the Moto Elite Sliver because my Plantronics Pro HD would drop its bluetooth every single time a call was answered or placed. I did a little research and found it may be related to a conflict with the 2.0 headset and 4.0 phone. Moto Sliver is BT 3.0 and was working great until this week. Now every single time a call is disconnected, the headset disconnects and reconnects. Reboots galore, problem still exists. Uninstall/reinstall Motospeak, problem still exists. Sometimes the bluetooth will not connect at all (reboot required). The Droid RAZR Maxx and the Elite Sliver are supposed to be state of the art MOTOROLA, I make a living with my phone and headset.

Although initially I thought it was good, here are some annoying ones: While entering info in different apps (texting, email, color notes) after typing only a bit, it stops accepting anymore keystrokes and says has separated from the app.No longer able to link or unlink contacts.Unfortunately, I am still discovering contacts that are linked.In case it matters, Verizon is my carrier.I wasted much time trying to send an email to Verizon support and to post on Verizon forum.

I know there are other dialers available, but the default ICS dialer has a people link, is it possible to dump the motorola skinned dialer and revert to the google supplied ICS dialer?
For the past several days for me. I just get "Loading..." and the perpetually rotating gear. Yet my notification bar is letting me know I have updates available. I just can't open the Market to DL them.

View 14 Replies View RelatedTook a couple minutes, but 4G just blanked out to white bars for the duration, until it reconnected. Both times the browser said "No Data Connection".As far as the Market goes, I urge everyone to check their apps, and scroll all the way down to see if you have anything listed under the "Not Installed" section of the market apps.We have two Bionics.. mine only shows 1 app under that section. It lists "VCAST Music" as Not Installed. When you click it, the option is to just "Download". I figure this app was bumped out after the .902 update, that's fine. Just wish it wasn't on the list of my Market Apps as Not Installed all the time.Now my wife's bionic has many more apps listed under the Not Installed section: VZ Navigator for Bionic, Amazon MP3, Street view on Google Maps, VCAST Music, and Videos (by google, inc.) - all listed under "Not installed".
I clicked on the Navigator, and it allowed me to update that. It vanished from that list and went into the Installed section. As for the other apps listed there, there is no option to install, uninstall, or update.. only "Open" ..so they are actually installed even though they are listed under the Not installed section.Of course I closed the Market, cleared the cache, etc. They will not leave that section. When I sign into the Market direct from PC Browser they are listed there as Installed.I tried to uninstall Google Maps updates and reinstall, but the Street View addon remains under Not Installed.Markets on both phones were always wacked out even before .893 and the intial release. Sometimes it would list 60 apps installed, 58 apps, 59 apps, whatever it felt like when checking for Market Updates over different days of the week. Now it seems stable with the same # of apps listed as installed everytime I check, but just those important ones listed under Not Installed are a little annoying. or will this just work itself out when the developers push an updated version of those apps.I do not want to factory reset yet again. Both phones seem to be running normal even with this little issue.
I have had my Droid for over 2 years and it has worked very well with my Acura HandsFree Link. Suddenly, it told me it was paired and could not connect. My husband's I-Phone (AT&T was worked with this car as long as my Droid has. But the HandsFree has no trouble connecting to his IPhone. My Droid also cannot find my husband's Plantronics hands-free earphone. The OS appears to be the latest version as I checked and no updates are available.

I tried to use WiFi and I can dl apps using WiFi.I called Verizon my internet is working, the browser is working but when I use my Data connetion I can go to the Market dl an apps a green arrow showed up and followed by a triangle with an exclaimation point. This is the second time I have done this task. Last time it was a breeze, and once done all the apps I had prior automatically re-downloaded of their own. Didn't happen this time, and that is no biggy,But what is bothering me is I still have the old version of the market. At least it works, but it has been a little over 24 hours since I did the reset...shouldnt the latest version of market been made available to me by now?

when i get an update notice, and go in from that icon, it shows me "google maps", "kindle", and "Internet".
i uninstalled the market and it was fine. (it ended up re-updating itself at some point later.) it happened again. i went into manage apps and cleared the data, and it was fine.
I was having a flickering backlight issue with my droid X so as part of the process of troubleshooting it, I did a factory reset. Good news is that the flickering backlight issue seems to be gone but now I have other more important issues.
During the activation process I successfully signed into my google account and it synched my contacts, my gmail, my calendar etc. Then I received a warning notification that signing to Gtalk authentication had failed. Also, when I try to download an app from the market, it will not download. Nor will downloads start initiated by installing them from the web front market.
I've noticed that neither my cell reception indicator nor my 3G/wifi icons on the notification bar are blue. They are just white. They usually were blue before the factory reset. I've read that this could indicate that Android is still synching my phone after the reset but its been a few hours now and it wont go blue
