Motorola Droid Razr :: Change App Drawer To Vertical Scroll?
Jul 4, 2012
I prefer Froyo's vertical scroll in the app drawer as opposed to Ice Cream Sandwiches paginated flip like the iPhone... how do I change it back? It's a lot more work for me to flip through pages than just scroll at the speed I want and stop when I see the app. On a related note, how do I get back the long-press widgets that I can scroll through? The paginated widgets are even more painful to flip through.
I got my 5.1 update weeks ago maybe a month I don't remember, but just this morning I go into my app drawer and i find it scroll vertically. I didn't update last night, left my phone plugged in and in all night. How our why did this change take place?
Is there are way to create folders within the App Drawer on stock ICS?I've noticed you can create groups, but I'd really rather have them in folders within the drawer.
Does any know of a way to 'relink' the market shortcut at the top of the app drawer? Since Google updated the Market to the 'Play Store' that link at the top no longer works.
I was wanting to know if anyone had an issue with the home screen stopping. I have over 800 apps on my phone and wondered if maybe it was that with the app draw trying to refresh and it taking too long. When I did a search people were having this problem with only having 20 or less added apps to their phone. Some even had this problem after having their phone refreshed. I can run the phone for days and use it with no problem and nothing and then out of the blue there it goes. I click the app drawer and the searching circle goes around and round and then the home screen will close and go to the last app or web page I was on and it could be one from a few days ago. I erase all the previous history and when the home screen closes it just refreshes the home screen. The only thing I can do is reboot and wait about 10 or so minutes and its all good till the next time. The question I am wondering is what is causing this. I had someone comment on links or widgets on the homescreen might be causing it. I removed some and it does not happen as much
Brand new Car Dock and Razr. Installed and all good working no problems for first 2 days, then when I dock the RAZR it does not change to the car navigation screen or start to charge.Power light on the power cable. RAZR charges and transfers data via other cables.
my phone was in my pocket and I assume I pressed a combination of keys. The vertical scroll on my track pad does not work on the main screen or in these screen that gets me to applications and options etc. unless I hold down the ALT button. Now this is extremely annoying especially when trying to move fast through messages and options.
Is there are key combo or a setting I can use to remove this? I do not want to have to press the alt screen to move up and down!
Motorola, since it is clear we are not getting an explanation of what happened, I think it is reasonable to request a change log. Since it appears to have been a mistake Verizon has not put anything on their site. It is making it difficult for those of us that got it to know what we are supposed to have and exactly what may have been removed. It does not appear to be the same as what the M and HDs got.
I have two minor issues with the car dock/ vehicle navigation app. 1. Can I turn off the autolaunch when the phone is placed in the vehicle dock? When I put the phone into the dock, the app immediately opens, and I don't want it to. If I already have Pandora or Navigation running , I want that app to stay up and running instead of the phone opening the car dock homescreen. 2. Can I have the home button go to the car dock home screen when the home button is pressed while the phone is in the dock? Currently,if my phone is in the car dock and I press the home button, it takes me to my regular home screen. To get to the vehicle home screen, I have to pull down the notification bar and select the notification. I am currently using GO Launcher, but I think the issue still occurs with the stock launcher.
I updated my profile to show I now have the RAZR Maxx HD, but it doesn't seem that I can change my display name. It shows up as ***, doesn't like the nickname for Richard I guess. Any way to change display name.
My Razr Maxx was updated to ICS this week. After the upgrade, my keys on the keyboard are about half the size they were before. It takes me 3-4 times as long to compose a text or e-mail because it is almost impossible to hit the right key or not hit two at the same time. there any way to get my old keyboard back? It was easy to use. What were the programmers thinking when they downsized an already small keyboard?
If you are presented with the dialog box to always do something with a particular file, but later change your mind and want to us another program or something, where do you go about chaging file associations? I haven't needed to do this yet, but have checked some of those boxes and always wonder what if I change my mind.

When I first got my phone, the opening screen was a key and a circle of major functions. I could flick the key at a function and that would be what the phone did. Now, I open with a key, which I have to tap to get to the four functions and then tap the function I want.
with the JB update, using either the lockscreen or power-buttion sound on/off toggle, could have sworn that it would turn off the Ringer AND Notificatiuon sounds to quickly put the phone into vibrate mode for the two sounds. Thought that ICS had both go to vibrate.
Is this by design or glitch?. I'm forced to go to sounds and put the Notification all the way down to achieve my quieting the phone when I need to.
We have two razr's both have all the same apps. We use chompsms as our texting app. On one phone it shows on the lock screen (Pic below) on the other it does not. BOTH have the stock app unchecked for default app, neither have disabled the stock app because it causes MMS problems. how one of us has it on our home lock screen and the other can't get it to do that? We didn't go to any settings to do it. BOTH of us had to do a master reset on our phones since the ICS update.
I've compared our settings and they seem to match it's really weird.
Is there a way to change the favorite tiles to a list? I know on the favorites widget that you can arrange them in the order that you prefer, but I cannot find a setting to do the same in the dialer.
I have a Nexus 5, Lollipop 5.1.1. Build LMY48B. Today suddenly the Menu orientation of my phone changed to Vertical one with a scroll bar on right side and the "Search App" bar at the top.
Earlier it was a normal left-right swipe menu. Now it is a vertical up/down scrolling menu. I don't know how it changed. There was no software update or anything. And is there a setting to switch back to the original left/right swipe.
I realize this may not be related to only the RAZR but maybe Gingerbread, but is there any way I can change background colors on mt text conversations?
I am hearing impaired and rely on the Maxx vibrate mode to catch messages. However the vibration is weak and only vibrates in two very short bursts.I cannot feel it.Is there a way to change the level and frequency of vibration? I didn't see anything is the Settings app.
Switched to a Turbo from an htc one (m7) and it had all the google services and verizon software in folders on the app drawer by default, was wondering how to create them in the app drawer on the turbo to mimic that.
When I have the App Drawer open and I press the search key, the Homescreen force closes with the following message: "The application Homescreen (process com.motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." It consistently happens.
Do anybody have a problem with the android email not want to scroll right when you trying to look at a email? What it is do is not wanting to move around sometimes like it is stuck but I can't figure it out.
