Jan 31, 2013I'm sure at one time when I use the setting,phone ringtone (left most screen, top switch) and set it to off, there was a timer that popped up asking me to specify a time. I can't seem to get this back.The app I had been using to set volume became too buggy with the last update and it isn't supported well. I've been trying different apps so it may have been an app that caused the timer to display.

Dec 4, 2011I returned my first RAZR because the crackle and buzzing on speaker phone / playing videos was too much. On this phone it's less pronounced but still there. Anyway the sleep timer on thus new phone does not work. I did a factory reset and nothing. Non related but I noticed that my 4G speed on this new phone is way slower. Maybe that's a Verizon issue.
I hope I can get this sleep timer issue solved.

Jan 12, 2013Took away the wonderful feature of the stock alarm starting out at low volume and increasing to full volume....I want it back! The wonderfully useful & simple Sticky Note, and the neat & simple Weather widget, and I just discovered the Alarm-Timer is now just an alarm (no timer) and is without the increasing volume feature, they are all gone in JB.

Yesterday I put it down on the table after answering a text and a few minutes later when I picked it up it was dead.It's not the battery...I recharged it all last night and it still will not turn on.I will take it back to the store since it is still under warranty. However has anyone experienced this before? And does anyone have a solution? Like maybe throw it against a brick wall?

Oct 31, 2012I have just 'upgraded' from my trusty DroidX to a Droid Razr Maxx HD (what a mouthful).The new device has a nice screen but (apart from the backside) the overall finish / design is nowhere near as elegant as the DroidX. Sigh.My question is this: on my old trusty DroidX the external SD card that came with the device was already pre-configured as the default location for all app data (I'm not talking about the app executables), the camera storage (/DCIM etc), music and my own files (text, excel, pdf etc). On the new Razr Maxx HD there is an internal 'SD Card' (how can an SD Card be 'internal'?!?) and this is the default location for all data files.
After some snooping around I found that the internal 'card' is at /mnt/sdcard and the external card is at /mnt/external1. How does Verizon/Motorola expect a consumer find out this or work with this information?Of course, I can go into camera settings to re-point the camera to store photos on the (real) external SD card. But the screen capture utility (power and volume down) still writes to the internal area - as does the Download capability (ie from email) - and as do all other apps for their 'data' files (remember, I'm not talking about the apps executable files here).Is there a simple way (for us non-rooted phones) to set the true external SD Card as the default destination for all data files? The current set-up is sooo frustrating. I can't just whip the SD card out of the phone and know all my data is in this one place.
Motorola Droid Razr :: Default App Texting Not Replying?
May 28, 2012I am with Verizon and have the Razr Maxx. Using the default text app I am sending out texts to friends who almost always respond quickly.
However, I am noticing that a lot of them are not replying. Sometimes they get them, sometimes not. I ask them to reply so I can make sure they got the text, but no reply. If I text my wife, she recieves the text ok and replies to my phone. The text messages sent show a "sent" status.

Nov 9, 2012I often download large PowerPoint presentations or other office files from gmail and stock email app. By default they go to the download folder at /mnt/sdcard which is in fact not the sd card but internal memory. I would like these files to automatically download to the download folder on my sd card /mnt/external1/downloads. Is there some setting that would allow this?

Recently my SD card got full while I was taking pictures, and so the new saved pictures were moved automatically to the internal memory. Now, each time I take a photo or a video, it is automatically saved to a "DCIM" folder in the device storage (the photos taken with the Facebook app are saved in the same folder too).Since the folder changed, I have problems with camera apps like the default camera app, the facebook camera app or the paper camera app. They freeze each time I try to take a picture.I also have a problem with the gallery app, which cannot upload (display?) the photos and videos I took anymore. It is refreshing, but nothing shows up.I would like to restore the default gallery folder in the SD card, so that each time I take a photo or a video, it is saved in my SD card.

Mar 28, 2012The phone was set up by the salesperson, and when I email off of Contacts, it defaults to Gmail. I don't use Gmail, but can find no where to change the default email account. Was this done during the set-up of Gmail? Do I need to delete the account and set it up again.

Jul 4, 2012After reading the posts here about assigning a different texting app rather than using VZWs stock texting app, I decided to try it. I disabled the stock app, which DID remove it from the lock screen. It left a blank space. When I dragged down toward it, it opened the camera app instead.
I noticed in Manage Apps> App Info that there is a selection called Launch by Default/No defaults set, and a button marked Clear Defaults. This section is grayed out in every single app in manage apps; how to enable it? I'd like to disable VZW text messaging, and enable Google Talk in its place.
Secondly - after the ICS update, I now have multiple references to the same apps in Manage Apps>All Apps. There are three separate references for Backup Assistant Plus, and two for Google Maps. Looking at App Info, some are the old versions (pre ICS) and some are the new ones (post ICS). Is there a way to delete the old references and clean things up a tad?
I just got out of a live chat w a Motorola rep, and they had no answers either. Or maybe I should quit digging into the phone and just enjoy it? LOL it's like picking at a scab.

It shows every 15 minutes (not thrilled with that either) but still won't do it. I really like the stock e-mail app with the gesture swipe too and just the general look of it. How can the g-mail app continuously sync and not this one? Since it appears to have been a mistake Verizon has not put anything on their site. It is making it difficult for those of us that got it to know what we are supposed to have and exactly what may have been removed. It does not appear to be the same as what the M and HDs got.

Can I have the home button go to the car dock home screen when the home button is pressed while the phone is in the dock? Currently,if my phone is in the car dock and I press the home button, it takes me to my regular home screen. To get to the vehicle home screen, I have to pull down the notification bar and select the notification. I am currently using GO Launcher, but I think the issue still occurs with the stock launcher.

Motorola Droid Razr HD :: JB Change To Notification Sound Using Locksceen
Dec 8, 2012with the JB update, using either the lockscreen or power-buttion sound on/off toggle, could have sworn that it would turn off the Ringer AND Notificatiuon sounds to quickly put the phone into vibrate mode for the two sounds. Thought that ICS had both go to vibrate.
Is this by design or glitch?. I'm forced to go to sounds and put the Notification all the way down to achieve my quieting the phone when I need to.

Jul 13, 2012We have two razr's both have all the same apps. We use chompsms as our texting app. On one phone it shows on the lock screen (Pic below) on the other it does not. BOTH have the stock app unchecked for default app, neither have disabled the stock app because it causes MMS problems. how one of us has it on our home lock screen and the other can't get it to do that? We didn't go to any settings to do it. BOTH of us had to do a master reset on our phones since the ICS update.
I've compared our settings and they seem to match it's really weird.
