I'm going to try changing my micro SD card due to some technical issues I'm having. Is there a way to copy all of it's data to the phone such as photos/music?
That way I don't lose anything when I put in a new micro SD?

On windows I can copy files on the micro sd card and delete - but as soon as I insert the card in the phone, everything is in the old condition. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

View 10 Replies View Related"Do 32 Gb micro SD cards actually work reliably in DROID4?"I just switched carriers and my son and I ended up both with DROID4 phones and 32 Gb micro SD cards (SANdisk). On the first day, I experienced several freezes of my phone when doing things which used the SD card. In particular, taking pictures and sending some pictures via text (well, MMS) message. By freeze, I mean the screen would go blank but if someone texted me, the phone will still buzz but nothing I could do short of power cycling (power + volume down for 10 seconds) would make the phone respond again.
The other issue I had is I connected a USB cable from a windows 7 laptop to the phone. The phone showed up as drives E, F, and G. E had some motorola software, F, was the phone internal storage and G was the micro SD card. I tried to copy a folder containing some pictures and music from my old phone over. After the first 2 out of a few hundred files copied, windows explorer stopped responding and the phone was frozen too. Waited for hours and it never came back. So, reboot phone, reboot computer. Phone says SD card is bad and I need to format it. So I did. Tried again and got the same results. Then I tried taking the card out of the phone and putting in the computer with the USB adapter that came with the card. Computer says card is corrupt and needs formatting. So... format on the computer. Then I copied all the pictures and music over that I wanted. No problems. Put the card back in the phone. Phone says card is corrupt and needs formatting. Told it to format and the phone froze again.So after getting frustrated I tried putting an old 8 Gb card in the phone after formatting on the computer (FAT32). I was able to connect phone to computer with USB and copy all my files over to the SD card, no problems. Haven't had any more issues. That made me think that perhaps I just had a bad 32 Gb card so I called verizon and asked them to send a replacement which is supposedly in the mail.
That all consumed a day. After all that my son starts taking pictures on his identical phone. And... he starts getting some freezes on his phone. This leads me to ask the question "do 32 Gb micro SD cards actually work on DROID4?". Related to this, what allocation size do folks use if they format the card on a PC before putting in this phone?I really don't have time/energy to keep messing with the phone but would like the larger storage. However I am forced to wonder if these phones just don't play well with 32 Gb cards as I find the chances of both my son and I getting bad new in the box cards to be unlikely.
I would like to be able to charge my XOOM using a micro usb connector, but the XOOM has some sort of round connecter. Are there any converters available?

This seemed to happen since the last software update. Before that, it worked fine.The phone simply does not recognize any Micro SD cards. I tried 2 different micro sds and the same thing happened.
The buttons where it says"Mount SD card" are always disabled(shaded). And the phone does not let me erase data from SD card either.I tried the reset from Privacy>Factory Reset. Same thing happened. It reset the phone but it still does not read Micro SD.
I was given a copy of fast 5 which was a bluray with dvd and also digital copy.
I selected the digital copy to be in iTunes rather then Windows Media Player since figure more chance of viewing in future if I get a iPad or something.
So it downloaded to my iTunes put it in my movies section, then I connected my iPhone to iTunes and click sync Movies and made sure it was selected.
But now I get a error message stating "Fast Five was not copied to the iPhone "Lanky71" because it cannot be played on this iPhone"

I have tried to go through settings in the contacts list to save the numbers to the micro sd card but there is no option to do so. The phone does recognize the micro sd card and I have looked around and found nothing besides hooking it up directly to the computer but I don't want to go that route because I don't have the data cable and cant get one because where I am they don't deliver or sell the cable.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently made the decision to stop using my headphone jack. To listen to audio, I plug my listening devices into th 3.5mm jacks that are located on the different docks. The problem I have is that a lot of the phone sounds still come through the external speaker. For example, I am watching a movie and I get an email, text msg, or phone call. I can't hear this because my headphones are on. If I plug my headphones into the phone's actual headphone jack, I hear all of the sounds. If I am in the car and a call comes in, the voice comes through the speakerphone. I have to manually hit the speaker button and then the audio comes through my car stereo. Does any know if there is a way to make the audio from the micro usb to work the same as the audio on the headphone jack?

When I went to try to put it in, it doesn't fit right! It seems to be too small and moves around too much in the slot. Am I just doing something wrong? How is it supposed to fit in that slot? There is a little rubber tap that says "Lift Here" -- I do that and put the micro SD Card in the slot, but the card is just to small!
