Motorola Droid 2 :: Support For 32 GB (Class 10) Micro SD Card
Jun 6, 2011
I want to upgrade from the current 8GB card to a 32GB card. I bought a class 10 card (instead of the class 4 that was shipped with the phone. I would like to know if it is supported but I cannot find a spec anywhere.
i don't know how much data rate need to write 720p during video recodeing.i am planing to buy a 32 gb card.diffently class 10 is batter but what about class4 ,is i gonna give me trouble anyway in Xperia Ray?
I just bought the PLAY few weeks ago. Now need to upgrade my MicroSD card (Present class 2 8GB). The curiosity I'm having now is the PLAY support the class 4 32GB or not.
Is a class 10 32gb sd card for the Atrix really that much faster loading mpeg4 HD video than a class 4 card? Is it worth the $20-25. price difference just for the speed?
don't know if this was asked yet, but does the droid x take a class 10 memory card? I've seen class 2, class 4 and class 10 memory cards. Class 10 is suppose to be better (faster). Does the droid x support a class 10 memory card?
This is the 2nd 32gb sd cards I brought and it still not working well on motorola atrix. When I sync video into my phone (mp4) only 3 out of 15 video that plays. Last thread I created they said it was the sd card that was corrupted so I brought a new one and this one is still the same. Is it atrix doesn't work on 32sd card?
I read on a forum that the Razr's transfer rates are such that there's no point in buying a SD card higher than a class 4. That the Razr is not able to tranfer data higher than a class 4. I find that hard to believe, given that the SD Association recommends class 10 for "Full HD video recording, HD still picture consecutive shooting"
Does anyone know if the Razr's able to utilize class 10 memory cards or if there is a lower spec that is the max it can utilize?
uch to my dismay, I purchased a class 10 microsd thinking this phone was the latetest and greatest so should the memory.Wrong.... ended up calling motorola and class 4 recommended class.
Currently looking at an A-DATA class 10 32gb SDHC Flash memory card, would this work and would all 32gb be readable? I read that OS 4 only read up to 16gb. I'm sure I don't need that much memory right now, but I'd rather get it now, then later if it is compatible.
My photon does not read the Micro SD card. This problem has been there for 2 months. I never had a need to use the Micro SD card so i did not bother.
This seemed to happen since the last software update. Before that, it worked fine. The phone simply does not recognize any Micro SD cards. I tried 2 different micro sds and the same thing happened.
The buttons where it says"Mount SD card" are always disabled(shaded). And the phone does not let me erase data from SD card either.I tried the reset from Privacy>Factory Reset. Same thing happened. It reset the phone but it still does not read Micro SD.
I have tried to go through settings in the contacts list to save the numbers to the micro sd card but there is no option to do so. The phone does recognize the micro sd card and I have looked around and found nothing besides hooking it up directly to the computer but I don't want to go that route because I don't have the data cable and cant get one because where I am they don't deliver or sell the cable.
I purchased a card from Amazon last week. I haen't received update yet. The card came with a micro and SD adapter included. Do I need the micro adapter to install the small micro memory card? How do I install the card? Do I have to format it on my PC before installing on Xoom?
tell me where I can get a replacement Micro SD cover for my Xoom? It constantly comes out and now it's gone. I want to prevent dust or other particles from getting in my device.
I just bought a 32Gb Sandisk Class 4 microSD card off dailysteals (same place I bought my Xoom). I plugged it in and the Xoom does nothing with it. I can't see it and when I go to storage screen and touch Mount SD Card, nothing happens. When I plug the Xoom into my laptop via USB, laptop only sees internal memory, not microSD. I was previously using a Sandisk 8Gb microSD that worked fine
I have a motorola DEFY that came with a built in 2GB micro SD card.I now feel the need to upgrade memory to a 16GB card. While doing this How do I ensure the transfer all applications from android market (paid and free) to the new memory card?
I just received a replacement refurbished flipside that came with a micro SD Card that was NOT already pre-installed in the phone. When I went to try to put it in, it doesn't fit right! It seems to be too small and moves around too much in the slot. Am I just doing something wrong? How is it supposed to fit in that slot? There is a little rubber tap that says "Lift Here" -- I do that and put the micro SD Card in the slot, but the card is just to small!
I can't find any aid to mounting my new Patriot SD card. I've tried reinserting the card several times and the phone still doesn't see the storage. It just keeps telling me to remount the card.
Anyone have a problem with music skipping when playing off the Micro SD card? It's random, which eliminates the possibility of a bad file or corruption during the sync, and seems worse when the 4g function is turned on. Interestingly, the Photon is advertised as having 1GB of RAM, but the most I ever have available is 440MB.
"Do 32 Gb micro SD cards actually work reliably in DROID4?"I just switched carriers and my son and I ended up both with DROID4 phones and 32 Gb micro SD cards (SANdisk). On the first day, I experienced several freezes of my phone when doing things which used the SD card. In particular, taking pictures and sending some pictures via text (well, MMS) message. By freeze, I mean the screen would go blank but if someone texted me, the phone will still buzz but nothing I could do short of power cycling (power + volume down for 10 seconds) would make the phone respond again.
The other issue I had is I connected a USB cable from a windows 7 laptop to the phone. The phone showed up as drives E, F, and G. E had some motorola software, F, was the phone internal storage and G was the micro SD card. I tried to copy a folder containing some pictures and music from my old phone over. After the first 2 out of a few hundred files copied, windows explorer stopped responding and the phone was frozen too. Waited for hours and it never came back. So, reboot phone, reboot computer. Phone says SD card is bad and I need to format it. So I did. Tried again and got the same results. Then I tried taking the card out of the phone and putting in the computer with the USB adapter that came with the card. Computer says card is corrupt and needs formatting. So... format on the computer. Then I copied all the pictures and music over that I wanted. No problems. Put the card back in the phone. Phone says card is corrupt and needs formatting. Told it to format and the phone froze again. So after getting frustrated I tried putting an old 8 Gb card in the phone after formatting on the computer (FAT32). I was able to connect phone to computer with USB and copy all my files over to the SD card, no problems. Haven't had any more issues. That made me think that perhaps I just had a bad 32 Gb card so I called verizon and asked them to send a replacement which is supposedly in the mail.
That all consumed a day. After all that my son starts taking pictures on his identical phone. And... he starts getting some freezes on his phone. This leads me to ask the question "do 32 Gb micro SD cards actually work on DROID4?". Related to this, what allocation size do folks use if they format the card on a PC before putting in this phone?I really don't have time/energy to keep messing with the phone but would like the larger storage. However I am forced to wonder if these phones just don't play well with 32 Gb cards as I find the chances of both my son and I getting bad new in the box cards to be unlikely.
A question for Motorola Management, why is there no SD card Support? eg. a fully functional SD card as per every other sd card slot in devices. And don't go side-lining this as a duplication, this is a straight question requiring a straight answer.
