BB Bold 9700 :: Does OS 5.0 Support 32gb Class 10 SDHC Cards?

Jun 28, 2010

Currently looking at an A-DATA class 10 32gb SDHC Flash memory card, would this work and would all 32gb be readable? I read that OS 4 only read up to 16gb. I'm sure I don't need that much memory right now, but I'd rather get it now, then later if it is compatible.

Sony Ericsson :: Vivaz 32Gb TF Micro-SDHC Card Compatibility?

Nov 2, 2010

my first post here. I've had problems with a 32Gb card, don't know if the problem is the card or the "SDHC" standar. If I change to the 8Gb card that came with the mobile everything works fine.If I copy music to the phone via media sync or just dragging files only few of the files appear in the phone. i.e: For a 10 track album I only see 4 songs.Also having problems with pictures or videos, the files seems to be corrupted. Any ideas? I'm using Snow Leopard + Sony ericsson Media Sync. Also tried Saling Media Sync.Vivaz software version: 1224-4699_R2CA026

BB Bold 9700 :: On Board / Flash / SDHC Memory

Feb 17, 2010

I'm looking forward to upgrade to Bold 9700 from Pearl 8120 (outdated, but still in excellent condition) I need some explanation about how the memory works in Bold 9700 plz! As I have been reading on BlackBerry website, there are two separate memory banks. When you do the comparing of the 9700 and 9000, it shows that onboard memory for 9000 is 1GB, and for 9700 is 256MB. The Flash memory for the 9000 is 128MB, and for 9700 is 256MB. I was wondering if that 256MB for the 9700 is the total memory of the phone (flash + onboard), or it has a total memory of 512MB? Another thing I noticed when I was surfing their website that it says in features -> expandable memory "Enhance the 256 MB of on-board flash memory by easily inserting a microSD card. Create extra room for emails, messages, apps, multimedia files, documents and all the other important things that you want to take with you."

HTC :: Incredible And 32gb Micro SD Cards Losing Data / Going Blank

Jul 15, 2010

On the Verizon website, they state a 16gb max micro SD card for the incredible.On the HTC site, they state 32gb max.I purchased a 32gb card only to have the HTC Incredible take forever to load things (music) to the card. When there, it stores the dir structure, but erases the contents of some of the content.I also notice that the LOST.DIR gets full of files with numbers for filenames and no extensions.I've also experienced that the card gets completely wiped by the phone.I've re-formatted the drive numerous times, both in the phone an dexternal. Each time the formatting states all good.Load everything back onto the card, rebooted device, empty card again.left phone running, reloaded card externally and inserted the card. it only finds a few music items in the "music" directory and again cleans out some others.

Done a phone diagnostic, checked that the phone does see all 32 gb, everything looks good.I posted a message to the HTC customer support and so far been ignored.Is there anyone else having this sort of problem ?

IPhone :: 4 32GB Stores 20% + Less Audio Than 3GS 32GB?

Jun 28, 2010

It is an undisputed fact that I can store a LOT more audio on my 3.2GB 3GS (on O/S 3.1.3) than I can on my new iPhone 4 32GB. I mean a LOT less - like 20%.

I loaded the EXACT same settings, apps and songs into the iPhone 4 using a 3GS backup. Absolutely no difference. When I tried to syncronize the first time, it loaded the settings fine until it started to copy the songs over. I got an error message saying there was not enough room. I was going to be 3GB short! Yes, I lost 3GB of available audio storage on my iPhone 4 32GB vs 3GS 32GB.

I cancelled this operation and looked at the total "available" capacity of each device. The iPhone 4 was at 29.1GB and the 3GS was at 29.3 - the iPhone 4 obviously reserves slightly more for OS 4, but not significant enough to account for the 3GB less music storage.

I thought the error message might be a fluke, so I loaded my audio in little chunks until I reached capacity, and sure enough, I could load about 20% less songs than in my 3GS.

So what's up here? It makes no sense to me. One thing to note is that I'm using the on-the-fly 128 kbps conversion option (checkbox on the "summary" page when syncing). Since I copied over most songs on my 3GS when I was using iTunes 9.1 and OS 3.1.3, it could be that iTunes 9.2 (maybe in combination with OS 4) has a less efficient conversion routine when converting a 256 kpbs song to 128 kpbs. Or maybe OS 4 is reserving more space per song for some reason.

Has anyone else experienced this? This is a MAJOR deal for me since I already was VERY disappointed that their was no 64GB phone, and now it's even WORSE because I have to unload ANOTHER 20% on my music!

IPhone :: 4 16GB Or 32GB: Do I Need The 32GB? 16GB Or 32GB

Jun 11, 2010

Im not one who feels they need to put their entire music/iTunes collection on their phone. I will probably have no more than 1GB worth of music at any one time. If Im feeling conflicted maybe another 1GB but doubtful. As far as videos I wont have more than a few on there. Maybe another 1GB or 2. As far as apps, I highly doubt I would ever get more than 100 apps at once and from what I understand, outside of GPS apps, they are all pretty much 10MB or less. So at a 100 apps maybe another 1GB there. Lets say I buy a GPS app that takes up 2GB. So Ive got 1GB in music, 1GB of videos, 1GB of Apps and a 2GB GPS app. Ive used 5GB and I would have somewhere between 10GB and 11GB left.

Now lets talk about photos. I wont really load anything more than some wallpapers but when I start taking photos (and videos) I wont let them pile up for too long without moving them to my MacBook. So if I have several hundred photos on the iPhone at any one time, lets say 1GB to 2GB used.

Would I be fine in this scenario? Or should I go for 32GB? So I may get down to 8GB free, maybe less if I let stuff build up more. Would you find this acceptable for your use?

BB Bold :: Memory Cards Not Showing Up On It?

Memory card
SanDisk 4GB Micro SDHC

I've had this phone for roughly 3 months now, bought it brand new from Phones 4U. Everything was perfectly working, when all of a sudden yesterday my phone kept thinking it has no memory card inserted. So I removed the memory card and did a battery pull, re-insterted the card again and still no luck. I next checked if the media card support was enabled, and it was. I then inserted my memory card into my PC and it worked perfectly, no errors or anything. I then tried formatting my card (FAT32) and inserted it once again and yet no luck. I then went to my storage options again, and under media card it reads 'A media card is not presently inserted in the device.' Even trying a different micro SD card did not help. For a second it said 'media card inserted' but seconds later 'media card removed'. This doesnt happene everytime, only sometimes.
