don't know if this was asked yet, but does the droid x take a class 10 memory card? I've seen class 2, class 4 and class 10 memory cards. Class 10 is suppose to be better (faster). Does the droid x support a class 10 memory card?

That the Razr is not able to tranfer data higher than a class 4. I do have two questions about downloading music to the phone via MotoCast.1.) Is there a way to designate downloads to go to the External SD card instead of internal memory? It seems like it will only go to internal memory until you max it out and it gives you the option to move things to the external card. This seems like a silly step, couldn't it just go directly to the external card?2.) My music displays in playlists when streaming from my computer, but when I select download a playlist and disconnect from the computer (in a no-data environement) the playlist disappears and all of my music is just dumped into the app unoragnized. I am not using an SD card and I'm trying to mount the internal memory as a drive in Windows, so that I can access and download pictures taken with the camera. When I plug it in, Windows mounts a removable drive but doesn't let me access it (insert card). Storage class driver is turned on (or off, makes no difference). View 2 Replies View RelatedI am adding Email definitions for my Gmail accounts (in addition to the Google account definition for Contacts, etc.) because I want them to appear in the Messaging -> Universal Inbox. (I'm not fond of the Gmail app.)
Similarly, I am adding definitions for my Hotmail accounts because I read somewhere that Moto/Verizon will set them up as IMAP which I cannot achieve through a client like K9, else I would probably just be using it for my Universal Inbox.
Via My Accounts -> Add account -> Email Accounts... If I set up a Gmail or Hotmail account by selecting Other and then automatically or manually configuring, then mail is retrieved. However, if I select the appropriate icon for Gmail or Windows Live Hotmail, the only Email which ever appears in the 'Inbox' is from donotreply@vzw.net regarding the success of the operation - this message is not even sent into my actual Gmail/Hotmail Inbox as verified online.. NONE of the other messages from my Inbox ever appear.
So, why do I care how the account is set up? Mostly because the only easy way to distinguish between the message source in the Universal Inbox is the little icon designating the type of Email account. If they are all set up as Other, they all end up with the same icon.
This functionality worked just fine on my Droid 2. So, is it now broken on the Droid 4?
(As an aside, the Hotmail account is set up automatically as POP3. Was I misinformed that Motorola had a license to set up as IMAP through some licensing agreement with Microsoft?)
Issue started a few days ago, around March 9th-10th 2012. Got this new Razr this past January and this "Select Dock Type" pops up either from the unlock screen (when selecting the camera) or when opening other apps (e.g. a geo-cache app, sms texting etc). Doesn't matter if you tell it to remember the setting. Another symptom, status bar indicates "HDMI cable connected" when in fact, I've never connected it to an hdmi cable.
When trying to use the camera, there is no display to allow you to see what you're shooting. This is with either front or rear facing modes or video. Interestingly, when I do select the camera from the unlock screen, it'll display but then the "Select Dock Type" popup appears. Closing it makes the display go away leaving me to guess what I'm going to snap and then looking at the thumbnail in the upper left corner to see what got snapped.Stopped at verizon store and agent said this is a known issue. I could either replace my brand new phone with a refurb or wait a few weeks for an update that'll hopefully correct this as it was acknowledged to affect a small number on phones built before December.Is there some other way to get rid of this annoying popup? Tried connecting it to hdmi dock at verizon store but no-go.

I am considering stepping up to Kingston SDC10/16GB-2ADP, a class 10 card.
The questions are:
1) is it compatible
2) would I get any performance gain compared to Transcend TS16GUSDHC6-P3?
As far as I'm concerned, SDHC cards with speed classes 2 to 6 are SD version 2.0, whereas class 10 cards as well as new SDXC ones are SD version 3.0, hence potential compatibility issues.
I want more memory for my N8 and am thinking of a 32gb micro sd card. I would like to use it for backups, and recording video. Class 10 is good for video I have heard, but do I really need it. I am thinking of SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC Card Plus Adapter (SDSDQUA-032G-U46A).

Somewhere down under the topic 'Memory', they'd mentioned that 'on the memory card and it is of class 8. In many menus you can see some sluggishness if you use the card from the box. When you change the card the speed goes up dramatically, so I strongly recommend doing this trick.'
The card that came with my Satio is a class 2! which apparently is the slowest!

I too have noticed the lag in the picture gallery and at places where the album art gets displayed. Can someone confirm with me if they have used a class 10 card say 16gb and if they have seen any improvement? If it works, I am planning on getting one.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am able to print photos from my phone wirelessly via my network (Dell Laptop w/VISTA & H/P Officejet 7400 All-in-One, Microsoft Small Business) but when I tried to print a spreedsheet, as a test of Motoprint capabilities, it shows the printer grayed out and says "This printer is incompatible with the currently selected document type". Funny that I use the same printer on a somewhat daily basis to print anything I want to print from my laptop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAlthough my WMV formatted Videos play fine on my home computer, I had no problem transferring them to my Bionic SD Card. Rather than playing, a small blue box opens at the bottom, which says "unable to open this type of file". Confirmed that the pre-installed Player should play MP4 and WMV. I tell them about my error message, and they recommend downloading the VLC Media Player (which works great on all files on my home computer, even on AVI and FLV files). Still won't play, so they refer me to Motorola, but before I call them, I also download, the seemingly popular MoboPlayer and MX Video Player.
The Motorola second level of support tells me to convert them from WMV to WMV, although my experience with Motorola's Tech support is that I sense that due to our mother tongues, it might be my fault for not parsing my words carefully enough. Feel free to contribute your WMV (or MP4 experience) to this thread, as the last advice that the Motorola Level 2 Tech Support gave me was to go to "setting", then "privacy" and then "restore data reset".
I'm using the stock email client on a Droid3 and a DroidX with a Verizon POP3 email account. If an Office 2007 file is sent as an attachment (.docx, .xslx, .pptx) it shows up a "unsupported file type" and cannot be downloaded or saved. I have both QuickOffice and DocumentsToGo installed and the files open fine with those apps and are recognized attachments I use the K9 email client with the same Verizon POP3 email account.Is there any way to get the stock email client to recognize that .docx, etc are valid file attachments and allow them to be downloaded and viewed

i own a 5800 and when i tried to access to the memory card through the file manager it says the card was corrupted. but when i inserted the card in a memory card reader, it works accept that i cant eject it and a pop-up window came out saying an error occured while ejecting the card. it is a 8Gb memory card. i found a solution similar to my situation but is there any other alternative ways that doesn't require me to download huge files?
