Motorola :: Transferring Large File To Card Memory
May 18, 2011I got a 16 GB memory card (which actually DOES have 16 GB memory - I ran H2TestW to make sure, having been burned) so that I could take a compressed backup of my data files with me in my phone.
I had one copied over ~ 4.5 GB with no problems, but now Windows Explorer tells me that "the disk in the destination drive is full" when I try to copy a 5.6 GB file to it. "Properties" said there was 10.5 GB free space.
Then I deleted the backup which was on it to create more space (14.8 GB) but I get the same message.

Nov 26, 2012I just bought my wife the Razr Maxx HD phone. She had an HTC Thunderbolt with a 32gb microSD card containing music and photos. So, when we got her new phone, I put that microSD card into it. The phone found the music instantly, but it did not find any of the photos on the microSD card. I was able to find the photos on the card through the file explorer app on the phone located in a DCIM folder, but I cannot figure out how to get the phone to "see" and upload them to the phone's library.

Jul 3, 2010I have come to 'Memory Low ' error message and have a question about that.I am not using additional applications, just default ones.I am not using mail.I clean web cache.What I have though is a lot of Saved Pages. As I noticed that my memory is geting low, I deleted my music using File manager and deleted some Saved pages. Problem is that used memory is still the same like it was before I deleted the files. I suppose that my deleted files gone to recycle bin or something like that? How can I REALY delete it (without reset)? And another question: Is there a way to save (transfer) 'Saved Pages' to memory card?

Feb 10, 2012In my quest to transfer my apps from internal phone storage to my SD CCard I discovered that Motorola refers to (or is it Android) to your SD card as 'media storage'. In an attempt to use the 'Manage Apps' feature and selecting 'Media area' I see apps with check marks and those without. I thought that the ones with checkmarks are those already on the SD Card and those without are those that are not on the SD Card, but might be able to be put on the SD Card. (Another user via another question I put out there indicated that the check marks indicate whether or not an app can be stored to the SD Card . . . is that true?). At any rate I am getting the following message when I select an app and select the 'move to media storage' button.
Failure to move application. There is not enough storage left. Here is the particulars of my current state of storage -
Application Storage - 1.04 GB
Internal Storage-
Total Space: 4.36 GB
Available Space: 4.88 GB
SD Card -
Total Space: 29.71 GB
Available Space: 28.79 GB
*So I have plenty of SD Card space, why am I getting this error? Is the one user correct that just because I see an app in the media area tab, that doesn't mean that it can be transfered? Also, when I select an app and the button to move it to the media area is selectable (not greyed out) . . . shouldn't it be selectable without getting the failure I keep getting? Obvoiusly I have PLENTY of SD Card space, so there is something I obviously do not understand.

I do have two questions about downloading music to the phone via MotoCast.1.) Is there a way to designate downloads to go to the External SD card instead of internal memory? It seems like it will only go to internal memory until you max it out and it gives you the option to move things to the external card. This seems like a silly step, couldn't it just go directly to the external card?2.) My music displays in playlists when streaming from my computer, but when I select download a playlist and disconnect from the computer (in a no-data environement) the playlist disappears and all of my music is just dumped into the app unoragnized. Having great fun in doing so but not always given the option of where to save them to with the end result that they are saving to the phone memory which keeps filling up and then giving me an error message.
