Motorola :: Transferring Large File To Card Memory

May 18, 2011

I got a 16 GB memory card (which actually DOES have 16 GB memory - I ran H2TestW to make sure, having been burned) so that I could take a compressed backup of my data files with me in my phone.

I had one copied over ~ 4.5 GB with no problems, but now Windows Explorer tells me that "the disk in the destination drive is full" when I try to copy a 5.6 GB file to it. "Properties" said there was 10.5 GB free space.

Then I deleted the backup which was on it to create more space (14.8 GB) but I get the same message.

Nokia :: E63 / Low Memory / Transferring Saved Pages To Memory Card

Jul 3, 2010

I have come to 'Memory Low ' error message and have a question about that.I am not using additional applications, just default ones.I am not using mail.I clean web cache. What I have though is a lot of Saved Pages. As I noticed that my memory is geting low, I deleted my music using File manager and deleted some Saved pages. Problem is that used memory is still the same like it was before I deleted the files. I suppose that my deleted files gone to recycle bin or something like that? How can I REALY delete it (without reset)? And another question: Is there a way to save (transfer) 'Saved Pages' to memory card?

Motorola Defy :: Its Freezing And Crashing From Large Memory Cards

Jun 3, 2011

I switched from an iPhone to this Motorola Defy one week ago, I purchased a 16 gig memory card to match the memory of the iPhone, and loaded about 10 gigs of music onto it. This froze my phone upon reading the card. I downgraded to an 8 gig card and loaded around 4 gigs of music, which also froze the phone. This time, however I was able to start playing the music before eventually freezing. I deleted all except 1.5 gigs of the music and now it works fine; however this is a waste of my money purchasing a large memory card; or even switching from the iPhone in the first place.

Motorola Droid Razr :: Window Photo Viewer Cannot Open Picture - File Damaged Or Too Large

May 26, 2012

Recently I have been unable to view my photos successfully on my laptop. It has been happening for several weeks now...When I transfer the photos to my laptop via USB (before you ask, I have tried as USB Mass Storage, PC MODE, and Windows Media Sync) and try opening them, I get the message 'Window Photo Viewer can't open this picture because the file appears to be damaged, corrupted, or is too large.' I just now figured out today how to get the Motocast application installed and running, and it synced up ~400 pictures from my phone to laptop.

However again, when I try viewing any of them on my laptop, I get the message. I have been emailing the photos from my phone, but for some reason that stopped working today also. I go to the photo gallery and do a multi select>Share>Email, and the draft is created. I see the photos attached, put in my email address, but the email never sends...it just pops up with an orange triangle next to the subject and says Send Action canceled. Not sure what all information is needed...software is updated, is a RAZR MAXX, my laptop is Windows 7. About 65 of the photos/videos appear to be in Internal Storage and the rest are on sD card.

Motorola Photon 4G :: Don't See One Large SD Card Instead?

Sep 9, 2011

New here, but quite experienced with mobile phones. I'm quite dissappointed with the way the Photon supports SD cards, and am considering returning it and going back to my EVO 3D.opefully I am missing something very simple, but have spent 2 hours here and other Android forums, and it appears this is a known issue with no current solution. And appears to be an Android issue, not Moto. Which doesn't fix my issue - may just tell me that I need a phone without an extra tier in its memory hierarchy. I understand that perhaps developers need to adjust to the extra tier in the next year or so, but that doesn't solve my problem.

Very simply, I want the Photon to comply with its advertised fact sheet - I want ONE large storage area:"16GB of onboard storage with the option to expand storage of up to 48GB with an optional SD card"I want to see ONE large logical "/sdcard" SD card, not an 8GB /sdcard, with a 32GB /sdcard-ext that is minimally useful. I understand why 8 is not 16 - no issue there. So, I'd expect (in round numbers, and adjusting for giga vs. gibi) 8 + 30 = 38.My issue is that I travel globally, use Copilot GPS, and 8GB is not enough for all the maps I need, along with other use of the 8GB partition. So -- with no disrepect intended, should I just assume that the quoted statement above is a marketing phrase with no basis in fact (that's my working assumption now) - or (hopefully) am I missing something obvious?

What do you often do with mobile phone SD memory card RAW file system error? Is it possible for me now to get my left photos out from that RAW memory card? Recently, I just cannot access my 16GB SD memory card of my mobile phone and inner stored photos since it keeps asking me to format no matter whether it try to use it on my digital camera or Samsung laptop. My friend just says it is detected as RAW file system on my PC and that’s why it needs formatting before any access. But, I really don’t know such memory card RAW file system error and don’t know whether the SD memory card RAW format error recovery software really works for me, like [URL] ....

How do you think about it? Is any related memory card data recovery software really needed? Can I just format this memory card and do rescue everything inside latter?

Sony Ericsson :: W810i - Greater Capacity Memory Card / File Manager Function

Aug 30, 2010

I've had this phone about four or five years, I think. I use the radio and walkman functions more than I use it as a phone.

1. It's got a 512mb stick in it and I'd like to replace it with something with greater capacity - say 4gb or 8gb - do I can put a lot more stuff on it. I spoke to Maplin about a new stick and the chap there said, if the phone is that sort of age, I might be able to go up only to a 1gb or 2gb and should check. Does anyone know the answer please?
2. The handbook (which I have just downloaded) talks about a file manager function, but I can't see it on my phone - is this a problem?
3. I have gone through all the menus and can't see a function to let me format a new memory stick - can I use one without formatting it?

Motorola Droid X2 :: Transferring Apps From Internal Storage To SD Card

Feb 10, 2012

In my quest to transfer my apps from internal phone storage to my SD CCard I discovered that Motorola refers to (or is it Android) to your SD card as 'media storage'. In an attempt to use the 'Manage Apps' feature and selecting 'Media area' I see apps with check marks and those without. I thought that the ones with checkmarks are those already on the SD Card and those without are those that are not on the SD Card, but might be able to be put on the SD Card. (Another user via another question I put out there indicated that the check marks indicate whether or not an app can be stored to the SD Card . . . is that true?). At any rate I am getting the following message when I select an app and select the 'move to media storage' button.

Failure to move application. There is not enough storage left. Here is the particulars of my current state of storage -

Application Storage - 1.04 GB
Internal Storage-
Total Space: 4.36 GB
Available Space: 4.88 GB
SD Card -
Total Space: 29.71 GB
Available Space: 28.79 GB

*So I have plenty of SD Card space, why am I getting this error? Is the one user correct that just because I see an app in the media area tab, that doesn't mean that it can be transfered? Also, when I select an app and the button to move it to the media area is selectable (not greyed out) . . . shouldn't it be selectable without getting the failure I keep getting? Obvoiusly I have PLENTY of SD Card space, so there is something I obviously do not understand.
