I have been using my BB Bold for a little over a month now with the Sprint supplied 2GB MicroSD card installed. My encryption has been set to "OFF." I just received at my door a new TopRam 8GB Class 6 MicroSD card that I would like to swap into my 9650 in place of the OE provided 2GB card. Please, what is the procedure for swapping the cards, while retaining all my data and settings as I currently have them on the phone/card, with the new 8GB card? Is there a way to do this reliably without the use of the BB Desktop Manager Software by simply copying files to my PC off the 2GB card, then copying onto the 8GB card? -or am I better off doing it by backing up to my PC with the Desktop Manager Software, then restoring from the pc to the phone through USB cable? In either case, please give me a step-by-step. I don't want to screw this up or have partially copied data, or other hangups PS: Maybe I missed it, but I searched (read about 20 threads) & didn't find the answer there or in FAQ's - Thought for sure this would be an FAQ. If I missed it, well...sorry - please enlighten me.
I have a scandisk micro memory card which has locked itself with a password! I emailed scandisk and they said its a common problem with nokias they put a password on the memory cards if you take them out and put them back in or update your phone etc. Scandisk have assured me that they do not make the memory cards to have passwords and its nokias fault. Can anyone pls help i cannot access my kids photos now and cannot afford to lose them No matter which phone i use it comes up enter password. Currently i am using nokia 6300 and 6600. One person on a different forum suggested going to file manager, settings, system folders, getting a file called MMCSTORE bluetooth to your pc open in notepad and password is in there. BUT i dont have anyone of these options in my phone especially file manager!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just recently bought a 16gb Micro SD memory card online, but it doesn't work. I put it into my phone and it says to format and I format and everything. After formatting is complete, I connect my phone to my computer so I can sync it with my itunes. The problem occurs as soon as it gets done syncing. After it's done syncing and I disconnect my from computer, the "format memory card" message comes up again. If I say no, none of the music comes to my phone. Then I go to option > memory and then it says memory card is not readable. It has to be formatted because it might be corrupted.If I select yes to format it, all the data that I just synced erases and I'm back to the beginning. This happens every single time I do it.
However, one thing I notice was when I stop the syncing halfway through, the memory card works. But if I let it sync all 600 songs (which is about 5-6 gb out of 16), the memory card fails.can anyone help me? Maybe someone had a problem like this and found a solution. Appreciate all the help I receive. BTW, I'm using the Bold 9700 for tmobile.
I have a Telus Curve 8330 and only have about 2 mb left of space so the phone has been freezing. I have a 8 gb micro sd card in there and I wanted to save my apps and everything possible in there.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just bough a Lexar 32GB class 10 Micro SD card that I am trying to use to replace the current 8GB class 4 card in my Nokia E72. I am trying to copy the data that is on the old card over to the new card. I have used the Nokia suite to make a backup and then resort that back up to the new card but then some of my apps are not there. I have also tried to copy the conents of the old card to the my computer using a card reader and then copy this to the new card (inclusing all hidden files, using Windows Explorer). This gets me more apps back but not everything. So, what is the best way to upgrade the memory card an keep all the data?

I have never been able to access updates directly from the phone - About phone/System updates, says the service is unavailable, whether I connect via 3G or wifi. When I download and run the lastest version of MSU C01.16.10, it tells me "There is no software update currently available for your mobile device. Please check back for new releases." My APflex version is GAS_ASIA_USAJORDANRTINT15_P003. My firmware version is 2.1-update, Am I doing something wrong?

1. Can I simply copy the data on the old/smaller card to my PC (using USB mode) and then install the new/larger memory card in my phone and copy it back? This, to me, seems to be the swiftest route to take.
2. Or, is it better to backup the old/small card using PC Suite and then restore to the new/large card? If so, why? Based on prior experience with this method I'm not sure all data is moved...

My photon does not read the Micro SD card. This problem has been there for 2 months. I never had a need to use the Micro SD card so i did not bother.
This seemed to happen since the last software update. Before that, it worked fine.The phone simply does not recognize any Micro SD cards. I tried 2 different micro sds and the same thing happened.
The buttons where it says"Mount SD card" are always disabled(shaded). And the phone does not let me erase data from SD card either.I tried the reset from Privacy>Factory Reset. Same thing happened. It reset the phone but it still does not read Micro SD.
I just installed the update on my phone and now the camera is not working correctly. It will takes a photo but the photo will not show up on the screen - it's just black. The camcorder function works fine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I check for update I'm told there is an update for the Kindle app but I can't get the update to work on my Defy. The install from the Android Market gets a "Not properly signed" message and the install from the Amazon Appstore just plain gets a "Install failed".
Am I stuck with the old version of the KIndle app because its a system app with Motoblur? Doesn't seem to make much sense to preload an app on a phone in such a way that the app can't be updated!

View 3 Replies View RelatedBelow is a relisting of a current problem I have not managed to fix.I have the latest firmware installed on my N97, but after the latest upgrade (clean install was done, mass mem refromatted, hard reset, etc') On checking over the phone I started getting messages that the Mass mem' was full (Not so) I eventually traced it to my 8 gig mem' card, (is coming up with the message that the memory card is corrupt, I have now tried 3 different mem' cards) cos after this was removed the phone worked perfectly again, I tried reformatting the card via the pc , same problem when the card was put back in, tried a brand new card , same problem, lastly tried a known working 4 gig mem' card, same problem?

Took all the usual precautions like removing remote lock (didn't reset the custom lock code to default) backup content to PC & memory card, then removed the card from the phone before upgrade. Then after upgrade and restoring settings inserted the card & was prompted for a password. Tried lock code/default lock code before and various other passwords before figuring out it might be the message text for the remote lock.

The phone does recognize the micro sd card and I have looked around and found nothing besides hooking it up directly to the computer but I don't want to go that route because I don't have the data cable and cant get one because where I am they don't deliver or sell the cable.
