My camera in my Blackberry says that the memory card is full and that I should delete photos. I have already transferred them all to my computer and deleted them via my computer however the phone still says that I need to delete. How do I do a complete delete of my memory card?

I've had this phone for roughly 3 months now, bought it brand new from Phones 4U. Everything was perfectly working, when all of a sudden yesterday my phone kept thinking it has no memory card inserted. So I removed the memory card and did a battery pull, re-insterted the card again and still no luck. I next checked if the media card support was enabled, and it was. I then inserted my memory card into my PC and it worked perfectly, no errors or anything. I then tried formatting my card (FAT32) and inserted it once again and yet no luck. I then went to my storage options again, and under media card it reads 'A media card is not presently inserted in the device.' Even trying a different micro SD card did not help. For a second it said 'media card inserted' but seconds later 'media card removed'. This doesnt happene everytime, only sometimes.
Does anyone know when memory cards will be available for the Blackbery Bold 9700? Also, is it clear that Bold 9700 phones purchased now in the U.S. through AT&T will accept the memory cards when they are issued, or is there some reason why they may be incompatible?

I have files and pictures and whatnot on my 2GB card that I would like to carry over to the 8GB. Turning encryption off is not an option as the security policy is managed by the corporate office. And, of course, copying the files to my desktop, then putting them onto the 8GB card doesn't work either.Is there a backup option for the media card or something in DTM? I looked all over for it and came up with nothing. I have not wiped out my 2GB card and it is perfectly fine in the phone now; all files intact. I just want to upgrade to an 8GB card. How do I do that?

View 7 Replies View RelatedOn the Verizon website, they state a 16gb max micro SD card for the incredible.On the HTC site, they state 32gb max.I purchased a 32gb card only to have the HTC Incredible take forever to load things (music) to the card. When there, it stores the dir structure, but erases the contents of some of the content.I also notice that the LOST.DIR gets full of files with numbers for filenames and no extensions.I've also experienced that the card gets completely wiped by the phone.I've re-formatted the drive numerous times, both in the phone an dexternal. Each time the formatting states all good.Load everything back onto the card, rebooted device, empty card again.left phone running, reloaded card externally and inserted the card. it only finds a few music items in the "music" directory and again cleans out some others.
Done a phone diagnostic, checked that the phone does see all 32 gb, everything looks good.I posted a message to the HTC customer support and so far been ignored.Is there anyone else having this sort of problem ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just recently bought a 16gb Micro SD memory card online, but it doesn't work. I put it into my phone and it says to format and I format and everything. After formatting is complete, I connect my phone to my computer so I can sync it with my itunes. The problem occurs as soon as it gets done syncing. After it's done syncing and I disconnect my from computer, the "format memory card" message comes up again. If I say no, none of the music comes to my phone. Then I go to option > memory and then it says memory card is not readable. It has to be formatted because it might be corrupted.If I select yes to format it, all the data that I just synced erases and I'm back to the beginning. This happens every single time I do it.
However, one thing I notice was when I stop the syncing halfway through, the memory card works. But if I let it sync all 600 songs (which is about 5-6 gb out of 16), the memory card fails.can anyone help me? Maybe someone had a problem like this and found a solution. Appreciate all the help I receive. BTW, I'm using the Bold 9700 for tmobile.
I'm going to try changing my micro SD card due to some technical issues I'm having. Is there a way to copy all of it's data to the phone such as photos/music?

Yesterday I bought a bricked HTC Surround because I wanted to see what I could do with it .My observation was the dreaded stuck on the HTC screen. So I researched and also had a samsung focus handy and found out a key problem we all know about the corrupt memory cards. So I download stock roms of both the focus and surround. My concern was merely on the surround ;I flashed the surround to att stock rom: i bought a torex 8 in 1 and a phillip .00 screwdrivers and opened the surround and took the memory card out and cleaned the memory card then i put the phone back together without the screws or the memory card I did the reboot reset on; the phone partitioned on its own memory: THEN the phone would not connect to Zune so I went under the computer on the start menu right clicked on then opened properties and open device manager connected the the surround to the device manager and forced it to download drivers(unknown device will come up when on device manager). Next I disconnected the phone after i had gotten the drivers on my computer (reassembled phone with memorycard and simcard in) I made sure gb was in the about phone column before i synced it to zune. The focus I used as a reference for how it would update and wp7 build. AND now the surround enjoys mango .

It worked fine for a good while but I then started getting constant messages saying the media card was inserted then removed; these would occur straight after each other until i would lose patience and take it out.I wiped the card, formatted it, followed all the instructions on the forums of how to transfer media onto it properly but now the phone doesn't even recognise it. I assumed it was just that specific card as it as caused hassel in the past, so i tried a few other SD cards and the phone isn't recognising any of them.I intend to send my Torch to get repaired if I can't find a solution but I would rather not send it away for 14 days if I can avoid it.

I have a question about the memory that BB's have. What is the point of having SD cards if we cannot use them for the applications? Storm 2 users have 16bgs of memory device and SD card combine, but we can only use about 100mb for apps. We only have 256mb of application memory. why? The OS takes half of that, with the memory leaks that we have an a couple of appls our phones start acting retarded and slow.
Why cant we have the application memory just for the OS and the rest of the memory for apps and out stuff. What is the point of having all this memory available if the phone is going to slow down because our memory is going low. Is it always going to be like this? the new bb's are going to be coming out with 512mb of application memory and i still think we are going to have the same issue.
I switched from an iPhone to this Motorola Defy one week ago, I purchased a 16 gig memory card to match the memory of the iPhone, and loaded about 10 gigs of music onto it. This froze my phone upon reading the card. I downgraded to an 8 gig card and loaded around 4 gigs of music, which also froze the phone. This time, however I was able to start playing the music before eventually freezing. I deleted all except 1.5 gigs of the music and now it works fine; however this is a waste of my money purchasing a large memory card; or even switching from the iPhone in the first place.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've recently bought my 9900 and have only downloaded about 7 apps, however I often get a message saying my internal memory is low and I need to delete some languages to free some space. Whenever this message comes up my phone right side very slow, when I try to open a app or file it takes very long and mybphone freezes for a while. If I do a battery pull my phone runs properly for a day or so, until I'm greeted by the same low memory message. I've got no memory card and only a handful of media files.

One of my favorites was the aosp version 2.2.1 from Wolfbreak, that allowed applications like Abobe Flashplayer 10.3 which is a large application >10 MB; to be moved to the SD card. Now what happened to this very effective button that is now shaded out in the new 2.3.3 firmware? I'm not seeing the "move to SD card" button lit up in any of the custom roms for 2.3. either. Only a few apps I was able to move to the SD, most of them cannot be moved anymore. I think that it is important for the xperia x10, which does not have the amount of on board ram than some of it's cousins like the samsung captivate for example, where the need to run apps from the SD card is basically built in with 16 GB thumb drive that's buried, and an additional expandable memory slot for users to install any size up to 32 GB micro sdhc chip, which brings up my second half of a question, I tried a couple different brands/rw speed class micro sd chips in my xperia(s) and so far I can't find a 32 GB size that either xperia will reconize. I haven't tried a class 2 yet, maybe that's the problem. In any case I noted the x10 can't handle anything larger than 16 GB. If there is a 32 GB (the white pages say it handles 32 but doesn't show anything else) that works, I'd like to here from any user who has had such success, what brand, class/speed they have found that works.

I emailed scandisk and they said its a common problem with nokias they put a password on the memory cards if you take them out and put them back in or update your phone etc. Scandisk have assured me that they do not make the memory cards to have passwords and its nokias fault. Can anyone pls help i cannot access my kids photos now and cannot afford to lose them No matter which phone i use it comes up enter password. Currently i am using nokia 6300 and 6600. One person on a different forum suggested going to file manager, settings, system folders, getting a file called MMCSTORE bluetooth to your pc open in notepad and password is in there. BUT i dont have anyone of these options in my phone especially file manager!
