phone has been fine while plugged in, until about 2 minutes ago. plugged it in, tried to pull the notification bar down to switch to mass storage mode and the screen would not respond. took a couple swipes, and it eventually worked after a few tries.it's also doing it in my car dock now too.has been fine, nothing has changed, just started doing it out of the blue.
View 8 RepliesWhen I connect my phone to a wall charger (provided my Motorola), the touch screen responds rarely (slowly). As soon you disconnect the charger it works fine. I had talked to Motorola specialist over the phone and she provided me with a new charger. However, the problem still persists.
Yesterday, I used a Blackberry charger (with very close voltage and current output) and the phone worked fine.
I had over half a charge after sending a text message yesterday around 3pm. I looked at the phone at 4:30 and the screen was black and the device doesn't respond. I removed the battery and put it back to no avail. If I plug it in, the green light comes on - the Motorola splash screen displays - then a battery meter displays.
View 7 Replies View RelatedA spot on the bottom right side of the screen doesnt respond to my touch (the exact spot is the right " : " on the screen selecter pop-up). It doesnt matter what oriantation the phone is in or screen is being displayed.

The voice input dialog pops up, but nothing that's said is heard and the input mode just reacts as if it just got silence.
I may have had the phone connected to my bluetooth speaker phone in the car at some point (or a headset), but I'm not 100% sure.
Since updating to the Gingerbread release, I cannot work out how to respond to meeting requests in the calendar. I'm sure it's just something I'm missing but I can't see how to do it.How do I respond to the requests?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone prompted me to upgrade to 4.1.83 and when I said ok, there is a notification icon saying "Download will start when connected to a WiFi network". So I connected to a WiFi network, the download did not start. Gave it some time, switched WiFi on and off a couple of times, powered off/on the phone a couple of times, still do not see it starting to download. I also tried to download some apps from android market place (on wifi) works fine, but the software update never starts. Or Is there a way to manually get the 4.1.83 update to update from 4.1.57 and load it to the phone?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI got my phone last May shortly after they came out. For the most part I havent had any issues at all with it. I use it to tether my laptop and until the last update it worked flawlessly when I connected a USB cable to it. Didnt matter whether I was charging or thethering it worked without a hitch. Once the recent update came out everytime I plug a USB into it the phone tells me the cable was attached and then reboots. Sometimes when i remove the cable it reboots.
I never had 1 issue at all till the recent update. Ive tried differant cables and differant computers. Never happens when i plug the charger into it only when attached to a computer. Ive read another thread on this topic and seemed to be brushed off by the folks here at Motorola. Im not saying your software is crap or your phones. Im saying there is a valid issue that needs to be addressed. Its not my phone hardware. Ive used it for months without 1 single issue and couldnt be happier with it. Something happened in that update. maybe not on everyones phone but its happened on some peoples phones. If not then it wouldnt be a reoccuring issue with several people. If 100 people experience and issue or even only 50 then its an issue. I really dont care to spend 100 dollars to get this phone replaced. I guarantee if it comes to that ill go with an Iphone.
When I used to plug in my phone to the tv with my hdmi cable it would pop up on the phone wanting me to pick entertainment center or webtop connector. I chose the entertaimnment center last time and chose the option to always pick that. Now when I connect my phone to the tv, the Motorola logo appears on the screen of the tv, but the phone does nothing, like it doesn't recognize it. Is there a way that I can redo whatevr it is I do so I can watch my videos on my tv?

Have a Atrix HD, about 6 months old. Today I went to make a call using a headset plugged into the headset jack, and nothing happened. The headset was not recgonized and all sound continued to come out the 'speaker'. (Either in "loud" speaker mode, or normal mode.) Tried another headset, same problem. Researched and went through the "check for debris and clean the jack" process with no improvement. Contacted Motorola support and they ended up offering to have it shipped to service center for repair/replace, but that means 7+ days without the phone. So I thought I'd check and see if anyone else has had such a problem.
Anyone else ever have headset jack "failure" like this on an Atrix unit? Oh, it also fails with a music player, or any other sound source, so it appears to be a general unit failure, not specific to any one app/function. I looked all over for some kind of setting to enable/disable the jack, but found nothing of use.
My ATRIX2 goes "process system is not responding" and then goes black within around 2 minutes of starting, but only if my SD card is plugged in.Symptoms:If I remove the SD card, everything is fine, browsing, facebook, gaming, no problem.If SD card is plugged in, it would shows "process system is not responding", and after 1 minute or 2, the phone goes black, and I can only try to hold the power button, for it to repeat the same situation again. During that short period, the phone might not show wallpaper at lock screen, might not load widget, might show "bootup trapped:android.intent.action.BOOT_COMPLETED", might have the clock become 00:00, might be able to let me get in setting, might have some apps say they stopped working, might show notification list but with nothing in it.
The phone is just 3 days new, and I didn't do any of those risky "root" operation nor install "Unknown source" app. All I did was just install a lot of apps from Market. The SD card is a KINGSTON 8GB CLASS10. Also, I thought the phone should have 8gb ROM but I only see around 4 shows up.
My flipout screen is starting to separate from the keypad. Everyone can admit to dropping their phones once or twice, but I don't think it's normal for the screen to come apart!

Even stranger, I found out by accident while on a call to Motorola that if I use my finger nail it will work, just not smooth. I did not think a finger nail was supposed to work. Motorola told me to go to the Verizon store and see if any other device had the issue. Verizon said they could not connect to webtop and as expected the usb did not have any issues.Is this my phone only or are there any others with the same issue?I was thinking of getting a replacement, but they said I could only get a referb He told me a finger nail would not work, so I demoed it for him.He told me to wait for the Nov updates, but I don't see anything like this on the list.Is anyone using the Webtop travel adaptor with desktop PC. View 6 Replies View RelatedFrom the first day I began using my DEFY (about 2 months ago) I have experienced a great deal of unresponsiveness with my touchscreen. Generally, when the phone goes into Locked/ Sleep mode I will attempt to unlock it and the screen will be unresponsive.Sometimes I'll be able to unlock it and then it will be unresponsive to touch.Most of the time, pressing the Sleep button and re-unlocking it will solve the problem, TEMPORARILY.
This is a frequent occurance and has gotten to the point where it significantly impacts my ability to use the phone effectively.Especially when I receive an incoming call that I am unable to answer because the screen does not respond.Motorola experts, would you recommend sending the phone in for warranty service?Are there any firmware upgrades I need to address this?
Got My Defy 2 days back. Last night it rained heavily and I had to walk from my office to home. It was a 30-35 minute walk. I put my Defy in my pocket and started walking thinking its a water proof phone. When I reached home, first the phone's screen didn't respond to any touch. After a minute it went completely black and I could see heavy moisture under the glass. Only sensors were throwing some colored lights. I tried to call from my friend's phone on my number, and I could listen to the ringtone only. I could not pick up the call since there was nothing at all on screen. Today I put the phone in rice for around 8 hours still the condition is same. Its very unfortunate that I could use and explore my phone properly even for 2-3 days.

If my RAZR is plugged into a power outlet and is fully charged, it is very difficult/almost impossible to unlock the screen. I grab the unlock spot on the left ant try to slide it to the right, but it takes several tries, using extra force to get it to slide. Underneath the slide bar I see the message that my RAZR is fully charged and to unplug it from the outlet.If I unplug it first, it unlocks just fine. Guy I work with just got a new one and it's the same way. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced this? Obviously this isn't a big deal, but was just curious.

Currently when i use the HDMI cable the screen turns such that the cable goes in from the bottom which if the XOOM is on my lap is awkward. It would bebetter if the HDMI port was at the top.
I have the Atrix for many months now and only witnessed a few small bugs. However my wife bought the Atrix2 and she says the screen shuts off on her when the she touches the screen. It is not a timeout setting either. It is REALLY bad when we are laying in bed and she holds the phone and i try to touch the screen...boom screen shuts off! She turns it on and i touch the screen...boom the screen turns off again. Is this some kind of security setting?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have this weird thing going on with my Atrix. I've had it for about six months and it was fine until now. What happens is that the touchscreen stops responding after it is turned off (pressing the power button) and back on. I can't unlock the phone, but the volume buttons are still responsive and I can still turn off the screen. If i reboot it (by removing the battery), it boots up just fine, with the screen working perfectly. It'll sometimes stop working when ending a call. The weird thing is that it doesn't happen everytime I turn off the screen, and when it happens, if I turn it off and back on it sometimes starts working again. It also seems to happen more frequently when the battery is low.

I didn't do anything to it either. Good news...My backup Pro...was able to put all of my texts back into my phone...not in perfect order...but they are there. The call log was replaced! The desktop was put just like I had it! It was a pretty good move...just lost my pictures and had to redownload everything

Im not sure if this is a google flagship fucntion, but I think if we got that with the next a future update, it could even boost future sales of the device. There are hundreds, if not thousands of people out there that want this feature. However, many have never have even seen it in person. Let us be the ones to show it off to our friends, so they in turn can envy us. That would create desires in new potential customers that only spending money could fill .
