After 8.1 update, when listening to music via wired headphones, inbound text announcement will notify me, spoken response of ignore will result in audio resuming on headphones AND back speaker concurrently.
I was wondering if any of you had this issue. I have a LUmia 1520.3 and everything works perfectly, except that if I am listening to music and I get a txt message. If that happens after the message is read and I return to the music the phone starts to play thru the speakers and the headphones.at the same time. There is a significant reduction in the volume thru the headphones but it still plays. I have tried different headphones and the problem persist over the podcast app as well.

The text messaging app gone missing after a soft reset. This on windows 10 build 10536. There was lots of apps in the store listed error and could not install, so I did a soft reset. Everything is backed on and few app still could install with error code.
The main problem now is the text message app gone missing. The button display as 'Microsoft messaging', when I click on it says need to download an app then direct to store, but then nothing happens.
I just got the device and when I make calls my words echo back to my speaker and the speaker gets really hot.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm planing to switch to Lumia 930 from iPhone 5s, and so far, everything what i've found convinced me to make a switch except audio quality when listening to the (local) music. I just really can't find impressions from actual user about this. Many people are telling me that audio quality with in ear headphones is terrible, cant even be compared with iPhone 5s' sound quality. But honestly I doubt that it can be THAT BAD on one flagship phone.
I'm using iphone since 3g, i switched once to Galaxy S (when it was released) then after couple of months moved back to iphone, and another trip to android last year with Xperia Z but couldn't wait to get rid of android once again. Quality on both android phones was noticeably worse than on any iphone i used. I don't want to make same mistake again since listening to the music on the phone is a big thing for me.
So I bought one of those 2.5 to 3.5 adapter for my headphones. No luck, I get sound in only one ear. OEM headphones fall out during workouts.
Anyone could suggest in-ear headphones that work with 8830? Would like to keep it under $30. If there is an adapter you know works 100%, that would be even better.
Looking for a wireless (wifi) speaker that I could use to stream music from my Lumia 1520 to. If I can stream from Windows 8 that would be bonus. So far all I've found is this speaker, but it looks like you need to buy an add-on wireless card for it. Plus it's a little on the expensive side. NEW! View 10 Replies View RelatedMy sound keep cutting out while I am in call :( The sound works great on speakerphone but as soon as I switch back to the normal earpiece it cuts out intermittently.
Music works great and earphones work fine too, It only drops sound when I make/and receive calls. It's a real pain to have a conversation when you can't hear the other person 50% of the time.
I recently had a new battery and another internal battery/charging related component changed because the battery wouldn't hold a charge or charge at all for that matter. They also changed the screen and rear case which was nice :D But the sound fault was not there before I sent my phone off for repair so it could be the new audio jack on the rear case that is faulty ...
Does Calendar have (user configurable) audio alerts for any dates set up i.e. birthdays etc?

The speaker phone has a LOUD hissing sound whenever I dial out. By "speaker phone", I mean that when I dial a phone number, I click on the "Speaker" button in the dial pad to have a hands free phone call. This is an essential feature for me as I have phone conference meetings where I need to be using the computer and thus need my hands free.
The hissing sound is consistent and remains there for the entire call. When someone speaks it is reduced but when silence comes back, the hissing takes over
In two years of using the 920, I NEVER had an issue with the speaker phone in thousands of conversations, even after I upgraded to Cyan.
However, from day one, the 1520 speaker phone has a background hissing sound. Even with a 4 or 5 bar LTE connection (I live in DFW). Lowering the speaker volume to 5 (from 10), lowers the hissing sound but does not eliminate it.
As there are no audio controls (other than the Equalizer)...
I have a Sony Z3 D6653 running Android 5.1.1 and I have noticed a slightly frustrating issue. When on a call using the Sony headphones that came with the phone, everything starts off well. When the screen locks however, the microphone on the headphones mute. Unlocking the screen does not unmute the headphones, nor does muting and unmuting the call through the phone application.
The only way to unmute the microphone is to unplug the headphone, then the phone's microphone will work. It also starts working once the headphones are replaced. I have been having bluetooth microphone problems, which I still haven't resolved, and will post on another thread. In order to try and fix that, I have taken off noise suppression, equaliser, and any other microphone / noise related enhancements. I have left Okay Google working on all screens though.
If I want to make high quality audio recordings on the phone, is it Onenote I should go for? Or, what is the best choice and how do I transfer the files to my computer?

However the GDR1 update seems to reduce the audio to mono on my phone. Compare your videos before and after GDR1 and see if there is a change in audio quality.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using my Moto Droid, running Android 2.2.2 for some time now. Up until recently, I've been able to use it to listen to Pandora and mp3s loaded onto the phone. Now, any time I plug a set of headphones into the audio jack, the audio is really distorted. It sounds like a channel is out or something, and this happens across all volume levels. It pretty much sounds like you're listening to music underwater. Doesn't matter if it's streaming adio through Pandora or mp3 audio. When I unplug the headset (any headset, mind you) and go to external speaker, the audio is fine.

I have to restart the device to solve the issue.

The reason is that im not able to connect my lumia 1520 to the pc. the usb port has to be bad. The phone charges but wont connect. ive tried every combination of everything to get it working and nothing works.
I even went to the Microsoft store and had them look at it. They pretty much confirmed a bad port.
How to remove the 8.1 DP and go back to stock? Is a straight forward reset enough?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just reverted to WP8 so I can get the Cyan update. Now I can't seem to get back the apps I had before reverting.
I did the Settings>BackUp before I reverted to WP8.
My wife's new 1520 has the 8.1 developer preview on it. She has been using it for a month or so & then recently as she was using it, the screen would completely turn black. A second later (or 1/2 second) everything on her display would come right back up. It appears the same as if you were changing the display resolution on a pc, the screen blanks out for a second & then to the new resolution. The phone isn't hot, nor was it recently charged. It doesn't matter what app is running. In fact, I hard resetted it yesterday & it still does it.
I noticed yesterday, after I completely resetted it, I was using IE & the screen went blank, then back on, but the screen was upside down. This lead me to believe it was a sensor, so I turned on the rotation lock. Since then it has never come back on upside down, but it still goes blank. It really appears as a hardware issue. I started with a clean slate & the problem still persists.
Occasionally, I will lose both the wired and bluetooth headphones. My bluetooth headphones will work for the phone, but not for game or music player audio.When I disconnect the headphones, the speaker works fine. When I reconnect them, I still get nothing, but again, after disconnecting, the speaker works.Rebooting the phone corrects the issue.The best I can relate this to is muting the phone during a meeting.I have use the volume rocker and my "Volume Control" app.If I mute it, and put it back quickly, it works. It's when I've had it muted for an hour or so that I see the problem.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just noticed that the Lumia 1520 (brand new, bought last week) sometimes has the haptic feedback/vibrations turn off by itself when pressing the navigation buttons on the phone. However, they are set to on, in the 'touch' settings (running Lumia cyan now).
When I do a soft reset, the buttons start working for a with vibration, then stop (just to note, they work, just the haptic goes wonky). I tried giving the phone a call - the vibration still works, just doesn't seem to work.
I have audio through the headset or speakerphone with no issue but none through the handset. Did a battery pull but that did not resolve the issue. I also just upgraded to Rogers OS 5.0.0.743 not sure if this is what caused the problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy 1520 acts so weird and, honestly, irritating as well.It sometimes touches on its own the search button which in turn brings up Cortana again and again tens of times and sometimes the back button gets clicked without being touched which in turn brings up the open apps list or whatever it's called.It happens so often and when it does, it causes me to seriously consider hitting the phone, although I've waited almost 6 months for it to come.
