Xperia Z3 :: Microphone Mutes During Calls With Wired Headphones
Jul 3, 2010
I have a Sony Z3 D6653 running Android 5.1.1 and I have noticed a slightly frustrating issue. When on a call using the Sony headphones that came with the phone, everything starts off well. When the screen locks however, the microphone on the headphones mute. Unlocking the screen does not unmute the headphones, nor does muting and unmuting the call through the phone application.
The only way to unmute the microphone is to unplug the headphone, then the phone's microphone will work. It also starts working once the headphones are replaced. I have been having bluetooth microphone problems, which I still haven't resolved, and will post on another thread. In order to try and fix that, I have taken off noise suppression, equaliser, and any other microphone / noise related enhancements. I have left Okay Google working on all screens though.
I'm here because I have a problem with my brand new Xperia Z3, it does not detect my headphones (it's the Hyper X Cloud II). It detects other headphones.
It works with SoundAbout, but it's a pain to have the notification "hey buy me" everytime I switch on the headphones and it's a pain just to have to switch to listen to music. Â That's why I'm here to ask you, is there a fix for this or not ? (I'm under Android 5.1.1, more precisely 23.4.A.1.232 and my phone is a D6603).
I'm having the problem using wired hands free (not bluetooth) for making and receiving voice calls after updating my experia x10 to android 2.1. i'm unable to hear the opposite party voice through the hands free.
So I bought one of those 2.5 to 3.5 adapter for my headphones. No luck, I get sound in only one ear. OEM headphones fall out during workouts. Anyone could suggest in-ear headphones that work with 8830? Would like to keep it under $30. If there is an adapter you know works 100%, that would be even better.
My iPhone 5S (using iOS 7.1.2) mutes itself during calls. It also selects Face Time and the speaker phone function periodically; however, it mutes phone calls on a daily basis. At first I thought the issue was a screen protector that I put on my phone; however, after removing the screen protector from the area where the sensor is (by the speaker on the top part of the phone below the front facing camera), it continues to mute my calls. This is a hardware or software issue? The issue doesn't seem to get better or worse, it pops up the most when I use my phone for a prolonged period of time, but there doesn't appear to be any patterns for when this happens.Â
Everything I've found about this issue relates to older iPhones, which makes me think it's an old software issue.Â
I saw this elsewhere but have been unable to locate
After 8.1 update, when listening to music via wired headphones, inbound text announcement will notify me, spoken response of ignore will result in audio resuming on headphones AND back speaker concurrently.
After updating to Lollipop, (I had 5.0.1 and no 5.1.1) my phone started doing really weird stuff. For example, two months ago, sensors stopped working in any moment and I had to reset it for normal behaviour (for a few hours or minutes, depending the day). Well, that stopped one day without doing anything dramatic (I did factory reset two or three times). But now it got even worst: the microphone just stop working while doing simple phone calls. I have tested it in whatsapp audios and android testing and everything seems fine... So I have to reset the phone and it works for a random amount of time. I think this is an Android Lollipop issue, but I haven't been able to confirm that. If so, How to manage it?Â
I've changed my display a few days ago, obviously because it crashed after being dropped from ~30 centimeters. Everything seemed to work fine, the only problem was with the broken screen.
But today, during several phonecalls, I was told that they hear me sunk, like I was in a jar or something, and sometimes with few cracklings.
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S5 and when I have my Sony headphones plugged in the microphone is disabled. This worked fine on my Galaxy S3, why this would be?
I would like to have a case on my phone, but am worried that the nice headphones that I have will not fit into the jack with the case on there. I was wondering if there is an adapter out there that would allow me to use my headphones with that case, but also allow me to use the inline remote/microphone with it as well. Thanks in advance!
At work I use headphones, and I want phone calls etc. to call with sound only in my headphones, and call silent when headphones are disconnected. As it is now it rings from the speakers of the phone, even if headphones are connected. Â I have Android version 5.0. I have tried to use Smart connect but that doesn't work at all. For example I have set it up to start Spotify automatically when the headphones are plugged in, and also set the volume to normal, but when I plug in mye headphones nothing happens....
Experiencing super low microphone volume when using hangout calls on speakerphone/video calls? The other person i'm calling says they can barely hear me.
My daughter is using a X10 mini (Android 2.1), and is using an mp3 as the ringer melody. If she mutes one call (by the speaker shown in uper right corner or by the volume buttons on the side of the phone), then the next calls are all on mute. She has to restart the phone, in order to have the ringer playing the mp3 again
When I'm trying to talk on the phone mike is not working. I can hear the caller but they cannot here me. It seems phone app is the problem bc when I use different phone app it works.
4s microphone has malfunctioned on most outgoing calls for many months. People can't hear me for first 10 seconds of outgoing phone calls. I've synched w healthy Macbook Pro, replaced SIM cards, replaced iPhone 4s when Apple Store thought it was probably a hardware problem, called Applecare (no mic issue admitted). OS problem??? I think so! For the past 2 days, since updating to 5.1.1, no one has reported problems hearing me!
Info: iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1, Microphone. People can't hear me.
My iphone is not working correctly when making normal voice calls, as in, I can hear the person I called but they cannot hear me. The weird thing is, when using skype it works fine.
My iPhone 4's microphone has stopped working [only during calls -- otherwise works fine when playing music, shooting video and voice memos].I am currently restoring my phone as I type.My carrier said that it is a typical iPhone 4 problem, I have never had the issue until this morning. It has nothing to do with my headphone jack either; I have cleaned it and nothing happened.
Info: iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1, Less than 12 months old
When receiving calls my iPhone 6 microphone is not working correctly, sound drops, sound is crackly, sound is loud, etc. This only happens on inbound calls.
I have a question i have some problem with my iphone 4 i call for client and he dont hear me. i try to call for my other telephone and dont here what i ssaid on iphone. but all time its working good. Can you reply me what i can do now?
My iPhone 5S microphone has stopped working on all apps and calls unless I use speaker phone. I have the microphone enabled on all apps but it appears to be on mute and wont allow me to unmute...
Is there a way to know if a particular wired headset (Sony Ericsson or not) with media controls (single or multiple buttons) will work (or not) with my Xperia Ray ? (before buying and trying it, I mean !) Ideally, I'm looking for a wired headset adapter with media controls (play/pause, previous/next track, volume... but I suppose a single button could be enough thanks to such android apps), and if possible with a microphone, that allows me to plug and use any headphones.
About a week or so ago, the handset stopped working on phone calls on my Verizon 9930. I would have to put the phone on speaker in order to hear the person on the other end. I just updated to the latest OS that was released yesterday (7.1.0.580) and the problem is still there. Can't remember what triggered the handset to stop working, as I didn't do anything different to the phone, or drop it, etc. I should add whether receiving or making the call, it doesn't work either way. Also I've tried soft pulls (alt + upper case + del) but not a battery pull. Figured the OS update worked the same as a battery pull.
Phone was 18months old. Intermittent problem from 1 yr. Able to make/receive calls but other person not able to hear me. However voice recorder still working so not sure what's causing problem. Genius bar unable to help but person next to me with same age phone had identical problem. Tried all suggestions on message boards with no sucess.
When making or receiving voice calls via my network operator's service, no one can hear me, i.e my audio input. I can hear the person on the other end of the phone fine but they can't hear me whatsoever. However when I use the likes of viber, skype and facetime, my audio input is perfectly fine and the person on the other end of can hear me. Note both viber and skype calls work just fine and 2 way communication is audible regardless if I have a 3G or Wifi connection. Plus I have full signal bar strength when near a mobile tower so that eliminates antenna issues. Also have taken alternative turns to cover both the top mic and the bottom mic during a viber or skype call and my audio input can still be heard. I've done a reset, a hard reset of the phone and a reset of the network settings, still to no avail. Have updated iOS to the latest version 5.1.1.
