View 1 RepliesWhen using an app or Voice Recorder the Mic works fine. When I plug a headset in, the Mic cuts out... Do I have to use a headset with built in MIC... I want to use headset to listen and built in MIC in phone to speak.

I had an S3 and S4 and I'm certain when I plugged my headphones in the ringtones, etc were no longer audible. The were heard on the headphones along with the music or whatever I was listening to. Why this may be happening?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a really bad problem with my Galaxy S5. My S4 was fine until I updated to Lollipop, so I think that's the problem.
I'm playing music with headphones plugged in, Whatsapp notification sound plays through speakers.
That's fine.
BUT suddenly during notification, the music ALSO plays through the speakers for a few seconds! This is really frustrating because I receive messages throughout the day and don't want everyone around me to be disturbed with what I'm listening to (in library, on bus, etc.).
Nothing I try works.
Before Lollipop, Whatsapp notification would play on speakers and audio still through headphones. That was fine.

I'm here because I have a problem with my brand new Xperia Z3, it does not detect my headphones (it's the Hyper X Cloud II). It detects other headphones.
It works with SoundAbout, but it's a pain to have the notification "hey buy me" everytime I switch on the headphones and it's a pain just to have to switch to listen to music.

That's why I'm here to ask you, is there a fix for this or not ? (I'm under Android 5.1.1, more precisely 23.4.A.1.232 and my phone is a D6603).
I have a Sony Z3 D6653 running Android 5.1.1 and I have noticed a slightly frustrating issue. When on a call using the Sony headphones that came with the phone, everything starts off well. When the screen locks however, the microphone on the headphones mute. Unlocking the screen does not unmute the headphones, nor does muting and unmuting the call through the phone application.
The only way to unmute the microphone is to unplug the headphone, then the phone's microphone will work. It also starts working once the headphones are replaced. I have been having bluetooth microphone problems, which I still haven't resolved, and will post on another thread. In order to try and fix that, I have taken off noise suppression, equaliser, and any other microphone / noise related enhancements. I have left Okay Google working on all screens though.
I would like to have a case on my phone, but am worried that the nice headphones that I have will not fit into the jack with the case on there. I was wondering if there is an adapter out there that would allow me to use my headphones with that case, but also allow me to use the inline remote/microphone with it as well. Thanks in advance!

Their are no stores near me get it checked out, I have blew in it with no luck, removed and put the headphones back in several times. still no luck? it just suddendly started to happen. I didnt even use my headphones?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter I unplugged my headphones today the headphones icon at the top right next to the battery indicator remained. when I take a call I can't hear the person on the other end unless I have headphones plugged in. Also when I play music it won't play on loudspeaker because it thinks headphones are plugged in. i should mention as well that in the past day the phone had trouble recognising when the headphones were plugged in but a quick reset fixed this previously. I've also tried 3 different pairs of headphones.
I have had this phone for 6 months and never had a problem with it before. Is this a hardware or software issue and is there a way to fix it? I've reset the phone as well as hard reset the phone a number of times.
I get static noise when I plug in specific pairs of headphones into my HTC one m8. When I try them with my other devices, I don't hear any static noises. Is there something wrong with my device?

Last night I was listening to musc on my Lumia 920. I unplugged the headphones and wnet to use the phone a few minutes later. no sound comes out tof the speakers now the headphones sill work great, but it I cannot make a call without my headset now. I know the phone thinks the headphones are plugged in, because the sounds settings allow me to adjust the equalizer (w/o headphones plugged in this option is not available).

Just wondering if this is a bug or intentional? Whenever I have my headphones plugged in and I get a text notification (or any notification really) the noise plays through my headphones and through my speakers on my N5. Is this intentional and is there any way to stop this? I only want the noise coming through my headphones when they're plugged in.

To get to emojis, I have to hold down the microphone voice key to be able to select the emoji section. I find this quite irritable for someone who uses a lot of emojis but never voice input. I used to be able to get rid of the microphone so I could go straight to emoji use on my old Galaxy S3, but I can't seem to figure out how for my new (non-edge) Galaxy S6.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got this phone out of the box and activated and the mic is not working... not when I'm on speaker phone, not while using Google Now or the voice recorder. And when I record it's getting absolutely no noise at all. However, it does work with an external headphone mic and over Bluetooth.
I've tried turning it off and removing and reinserting the SIM card, deleting the cache, using a small pin to clear the mic hole of "debris." Nothing is working. Firmware is apparently up to date.
Every time I try to use my microphone to text or to search google is says it can't open the microphone. how can I fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedUpdated to Lollipop last night Verizon OTA, "ok Google" not working further investigating the mic will not pick up at all in any application. I did a factory reset did not work, rebooted in recovery mode and cleared the cache, did not work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a way to control my S6's mic's volume/gain input level, for weeks now, and I have found nothing.
The reason why I'm looking for a way is so that when I'm recording some video in a louder environment the sound gets blown out, cause the phone just can't handle the gain control automatically, so I'd like to lower it manually to have nice sounding recordings.
Call recipients can't hear me when I make calls. I first thought it may be connection issues or something, but literally every call the person on the other end can't hear me. I can hear them fine however. So I tried recording me talking with the voice recorder and can't hear anything either. Not sure if it uses the same microphone, but when I shoot video it does pick up the audio. I just got this phone and was really happy with it until now.
