Apr 17, 2014I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S5 and when I have my Sony headphones plugged in the microphone is disabled. This worked fine on my Galaxy S3, why this would be?

I had an S3 and S4 and I'm certain when I plugged my headphones in the ringtones, etc were no longer audible. The were heard on the headphones along with the music or whatever I was listening to. Apr 8, 2015I have a really bad problem with my Galaxy S5. My S4 was fine until I updated to Lollipop, so I think that's the problem.
I'm playing music with headphones plugged in, Whatsapp notification sound plays through speakers.
That's fine.
BUT suddenly during notification, the music ALSO plays through the speakers for a few seconds! This is really frustrating because I receive messages throughout the day and don't want everyone around me to be disturbed with what I'm listening to (in library, on bus, etc.).
Nothing I try works.
Before Lollipop, Whatsapp notification would play on speakers and audio still through headphones. That was fine.

Jan 11, 2014I'm here because I have a problem with my brand new Xperia Z3, it does not detect my headphones (it's the Hyper X Cloud II). It detects other headphones.
It works with SoundAbout, but it's a pain to have the notification "hey buy me" everytime I switch on the headphones and it's a pain just to have to switch to listen to music.

Xperia Z3 :: Microphone Mutes During Calls With Wired Headphones
Jul 3, 2010I have a Sony Z3 D6653 running Android 5.1.1 and I have noticed a slightly frustrating issue. When on a call using the Sony headphones that came with the phone, everything starts off well. When the screen locks however, the microphone on the headphones mute. Unlocking the screen does not unmute the headphones, nor does muting and unmuting the call through the phone application.
The only way to unmute the microphone is to unplug the headphone, then the phone's microphone will work. It also starts working once the headphones are replaced. I have been having bluetooth microphone problems, which I still haven't resolved, and will post on another thread. In order to try and fix that, I have taken off noise suppression, equaliser, and any other microphone / noise related enhancements. I have left Okay Google working on all screens though.

Aug 30, 2011After I unplugged my headphones today the headphones icon at the top right next to the battery indicator remained. when I take a call I can't hear the person on the other end unless I have headphones plugged in. Also when I play music it won't play on loudspeaker because it thinks headphones are plugged in. i should mention as well that in the past day the phone had trouble recognising when the headphones were plugged in but a quick reset fixed this previously. I've also tried 3 different pairs of headphones.
I have had this phone for 6 months and never had a problem with it before. Is this a hardware or software issue and is there a way to fix it? I've reset the phone as well as hard reset the phone a number of times.

I find this quite irritable for someone who uses a lot of emojis but never voice input. May 19, 2015Just got this phone out of the box and activated and the mic is not working... not when I'm on speaker phone, not while using Google Now or the voice recorder. And when I record it's getting absolutely no noise at all. However, it does work with an external headphone mic and over Bluetooth.
I've tried turning it off and removing and reinserting the SIM card, deleting the cache, using a small pin to clear the mic hole of "debris." Nothing is working. Firmware is apparently up to date.

Jun 12, 2015Call recipients can't hear me when I make calls. I first thought it may be connection issues or something, but literally every call the person on the other end can't hear me. I can hear them fine however. So I tried recording me talking with the voice recorder and can't hear anything either. Not sure if it uses the same microphone, but when I shoot video it does pick up the audio. I just got this phone and was really happy with it until now.
