Just wondering if this is a bug or intentional? Whenever I have my headphones plugged in and I get a text notification (or any notification really) the noise plays through my headphones and through my speakers on my N5. Is this intentional and is there any way to stop this? I only want the noise coming through my headphones when they're plugged in.
View 4 RepliesI have a new S5 and notice when I plug in headphones the notification sounds are still audible from the phone speaker. I had an S3 and S4 and I'm certain when I plugged my headphones in the ringtones, etc were no longer audible. The were heard on the headphones along with the music or whatever I was listening to. Why this may be happening?

I'm playing music with headphones plugged in, Whatsapp notification sound plays through speakers.
That's fine.
BUT suddenly during notification, the music ALSO plays through the speakers for a few seconds! This is really frustrating because I receive messages throughout the day and don't want everyone around me to be disturbed with what I'm listening to (in library, on bus, etc.).
Nothing I try works.
Before Lollipop, Whatsapp notification would play on speakers and audio still through headphones. That was fine.

I have a Nexus 6 running Android Marshmallow, though this was happening with Lollipop too. Randomly, my default ring tone, messenger notification, or gmail notification will change, either to no tone, or just a single repeating beep. When I check the settings, the selected sound ends up being a 5 digit number. For example, my messenger tone is now 53918, no sound plays. Annoyingly for messanger, it will change the notification for all my conversations to 53918. So even if I change the default, all active conversations keep the "number sound."

I find myself constantly taking my phone away from my ear during calls to check if there are any new notifications since the sounds get muted during call and find this kind of annoying. Seems like this should be a standard option, no?
I was wondering if any of you had this issue. I have a LUmia 1520.3 and everything works perfectly, except that if I am listening to music and I get a txt message. If that happens after the message is read and I return to the music the phone starts to play thru the speakers and the headphones.at the same time. There is a significant reduction in the volume thru the headphones but it still plays. I have tried different headphones and the problem persist over the podcast app as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have several bluetooth speakers. I'll pair a speaker (UE boom in this case), connect the phone to the speaker and start to play some music. The audio comes out of the phone speakers. I had the phone "forget" the bluetooth speaker and then re-paired, no dice, audio still comes through the phone speakers. The same thing happens with my car sometimes. I've tried everything.

I have searched the forums and internet and tried lots of driver installs and restart this and that.
Recently this started when I wanted to flash Android 6.0 to my phone. During the install with NRT after each erase and flash it would say Waiting for device, and the only way I would get it to proceed was to plug the USB and plug it back in... Now running Android 6.0 it won`t even recognize my device and won`t pop up the menu to choose your usb connection setting.I have two Nexus 7, one Nexus 7 (2013), and another Nexus 5... and they all work fine and get recognized by the computer.
For instance the typical "tic" touch sound sometimes sound like a "poc" sound or distorted, some other sounds like WhatsApp or Facebook sounds sometimes sound distorted as well or simply don't sound at all. Is it me or what?

When they do come through it says "New MMS message to download: size is 1kb, expires on date/time". When i try to download it ALWAYS fails and doesn't download. This has been an issue since I've updated to Lollipop. I'm currently on 5.0.1 OTA stocked not rooted.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have my own domain and I get POP3 emails the domain-provided-email-address forwarded to my POP3-ISP-provided-email address. These arrive on my N5.
I have the N5's incoming server settings set to "...delete emails from server when I delete emails from the device...". Despite this, emails get downloaded to my N5 again and again even after I have deleted them from both the N5's email inbox (accessed via the "yellow @ card going into a white envelope" icon) and also after I deleted them from theN5's Recycle bin.
I understand that POP3 emails are prone to "re-arrive" like this, but if I can just reduce the frequency that this happens, that would be good.
Found my first irritant with 6.0 and I have barely started to use it. When I take the phone off the wireless charger, it no longer wakes up... so I have to manually turn it on. I am positive before 6.0 it used to wake when I picked it up AND wake when I placed it on the charger Now it does neither. In addition, there is also no notification tone when it starts charging, so unless your wireless charger makes a sound, you will have NO IDEA that you placed the phone correctly or that it is charging. (And yes "charging sounds" is still set "on" in "other sounds").

I was trying to set some ringtones on my phone at work (!) and thought using my headphones would keep the sound so only I could hear it. Nope. The sound was in the headphones AND through the speakers.

My Sony Z5 has a problem where if headphones (or an official headset - I've tried both) are plugged in, the audio plays through the accessory BUT continues to play through the phones speakers AS WELL.
