on an iphone 4s, with a os 5.1, the sound has a very strange issue:
- the ringer/text alerts work fine
- Internet/other sounds do not work
- when headphones are connected, everything works.

My music wont play, you cant hear the keyboard noise or the lock noise, and when someone calls i cant hear what they are saying unless I put them on speaker or put headphones in. I was wondering if any of you had this issue. I have a LUmia 1520.3 and everything works perfectly, except that if I am listening to music and I get a txt message. If that happens after the message is read and I return to the music the phone starts to play thru the speakers and the headphones.at the same time. There is a significant reduction in the volume thru the headphones but it still plays. I have tried different headphones and the problem persist over the podcast app as well.

Strangeness.I have great sound from iTunes, but no sound from any other app, and no ringer from my phone. I have tried drying out the earphone socket with a hairdryer, and plugging/unplugging while listening to an iTunes song - all to no avail. I have checked al my settings, and all I can find are set to make sounds heard. Now I am flummoxed.

I have an iPhone 5 64 gig gsm, factory unlocked phone. Siri only works with headphones or when you use raise to speak. When I attempt to use it without it doesn't seem to hear me. I read a few threads on the subject and it seems this is a known issue. Most of the time the threads end when someone finds a solution without the solution being disclosed. Apps like Soundhound and Shazam seem to work fine so it appears the issue is software related. I have notice Apple texting does not work with the mic either.Â

I'm playing music with headphones plugged in, Whatsapp notification sound plays through speakers.
That's fine.
BUT suddenly during notification, the music ALSO plays through the speakers for a few seconds! This is really frustrating because I receive messages throughout the day and don't want everyone around me to be disturbed with what I'm listening to (in library, on bus, etc.).
Nothing I try works.
Before Lollipop, Whatsapp notification would play on speakers and audio still through headphones. That was fine.

Whenever I have my headphones plugged in and I get a text notification (or any notification really) the noise plays through my headphones and through my speakers on my N5. Is this intentional and is there any way to stop this? I only want the noise coming through my headphones when they're plugged in.
