IPhone :: No Sound From Built In Speakers On 4?
May 3, 2012I had this problem once before and am not sure how I fixed it. When I unplugged my earphones I no longer get sound via the built iin speakers.

IPhone :: 4 Built In Speakers Won't Work?
Apr 28, 2012All media on the phone won't play sounds through the built in speakers but when I plug in the earphones I can hear it. When I connect the phone to the pc and it sync to iTunes and disconnect the sound comes back but after a while it just goes again. The Os is up to date.

Apr 27, 2012Strangeness.I have great sound from iTunes, but no sound from any other app, and no ringer from my phone. I have tried drying out the earphone socket with a hairdryer, and plugging/unplugging while listening to an iTunes song - all to no avail. I have checked al my settings, and all I can find are set to make sounds heard. Now I am flummoxed.

Apr 26, 2012My iphone will not play a ringtone or text tone when I get an incoming call/text. My ringer IS on, I can hear sound just fine when I go through and click the preview of whatever ringtone is selected, however won't play. Have tried multiple ringtones and even tried to power off/on my phone.

May 26, 2012My iPhone 4 has not been able to play music or video through my speakers. It thinks it is still connected to my iHome, so it trys to play anything through the charge port which of course no sound comes out. Can anyone help me with this issue? I can still play through my headphones and it will play through my Apple TV if I tell it to, but I just can't get any sound to come through the speakers.

It silently displays "Time's up" on screen, but doesn't sound nor vibrate. I do have set a sound in Clock => Timer => Menu => Settings => Alarm Tone and the volume is turned to 100%. I also have set all sounds in Home screen => Menu => Settings => Sound => Volume up to 100% but ther is not sound!t drives me nuts and makes the device practically useless as an alert device

Dec 9, 2011Several people have complained that it is difficult to hear my voice during GSM calls (3G disabled and in a silent environment, for what it is worth). This could be related to the upgrade to Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwhich) a couple of weeks ago. Before the upgrade, I do not remember any such complaints (except when I was holding the phonehands-free between shoulder and cheek).Today, I played with the built-in Sound Recorder application. To access it, I installed the SoundRecorder wrapper. I checked the sound levelVU meter while speaking. I had to really shout to reach the maximum level of the meter. Without me shouting, the playback (on the back-side loudspeaker) was very quiet. I also tested this with the wired headset-microphone that was bundled with the phone, and I got the same result. I had to either shout or put the microphone inside my mouth to get loud sound.
Did the Android upgrade (firmware 4.1.B.0.431) make the microphone insensitive? As far as I understand, mobile phones usually have some sort of adaptive gain in the microphone amplifier.explanation is that I had enabled noise suppression in the call settings after upgrading to ICS. I have now disabled it again. In Sound Recorder, I did not notice any significant difference with or without it.

If I plug in a headset it works, but while cooking in my kitchen at wired headset can lead to drops and damage. This issue only started a few days ago.

If that happens after the message is read and I return to the music the phone starts to play thru the speakers and the headphones.at the same time. There is a significant reduction in the volume thru the headphones but it still plays. I have tried different headphones and the problem persist over the podcast app as well.
