IPhone 5 :: Speakers Have Stopped Working The Headphones Still Work As Does The Ringer
Aug 21, 2014
after running i disconnected my iphone headset. since then my iphone speakers have stopped working. i can still listen to music using headphones and the phone ringer still works but the speakers are silent. when i adjust the volume it indicates it is in "headphone" mode.
One day I was listening to my music on my iPhone and the phone dropped on the carpet (nothing hard) and after that when I took my headphones out, the phone no longer works on speaker and the loud sounds dont work unless the headphones are plugged in.
I've just purchased the Experia Z5 compact when I plug my new Sony headphones into the device I can hear the music perfectly but it also plays through the speakers at the same time.....
The speakers on my 4s suddenly stopped working. The phone no longer rings, speaker-phone won't work, it won't play music, etc. The headphones still work, but not the sound on the phone itself.
I recently fell asleep on the phone with a friend and i drewled over the mic hahaha so i know i damaged it. My question is, can I get them replaced? i still have the one year warranty on it. Factory warranty i mean
I have a Droid X with Android version 2.3.4 (system version 4.5.621). The phone ringer stopped working and I have to completely shut off the phone and turn it back on to get it to work, but then it will randomly stop working again. Also, the camera will take a picture but when you go to the gallery the picture is not there and it just shows a generic icon. I've done a factory reset on the phone twice and the issues keep coming back.
I no longer hear any key clicks or notification sounds, only a faint buzz from vibration, on my iphone 4S. Ringtone is still audible. Siri is also muted though I see the microphone is being activated. However, no other tones are. Checked all settings in sounds and all seems correct. When I push the volume button on the side, the display says ringer (headphones). So, I plugged headphones in and I am able to hear all of the sounds through them but not without the headphones. I've tried turning the phone off and on again and resetting with no results.
I was trying to set some ringtones on my phone at work (!) and thought using my headphones would keep the sound so only I could hear it. Nope. The sound was in the headphones AND through the speakers.
I was trying to listen to music as usual using the orginal headphones that came with the M9, however it did not detect it and the sound played through speakers instead. So I tried them in three different phones and they worked just fine, so then I thought it was the jack socket, but I tested two different headphone (Phone and computer) and by some miracle both worked. So now I'm seriously confused whose fault is it? The headphones or the socket?
I managed to get the headphones working on the M9 for about 20 seconds before they stopped working again, I did it by pressing harder and fiddling with the cable, but now it won't work at all, despite the other headphones working just fine.
I find it very troubling that the phone ringer is automatically turned on when the headphones are put in. I have even set a "Smart Connect" function to try to work around this. Nothing better than having your ringer sound out over a sound system in a restaurant where you work...  My feedback from support chat basically said that the phone is made to do that and that since the phone is functioning correctly there is nothing they will do.  I am pretty sure I am a capable person, and should be allowed to control my phones notification functions.
I have a really bad problem with my Galaxy S5. My S4 was fine until I updated to Lollipop, so I think that's the problem.
I'm playing music with headphones plugged in, Whatsapp notification sound plays through speakers.
That's fine.
BUT suddenly during notification, the music ALSO plays through the speakers for a few seconds! This is really frustrating because I receive messages throughout the day and don't want everyone around me to be disturbed with what I'm listening to (in library, on bus, etc.).
Nothing I try works.
Before Lollipop, Whatsapp notification would play on speakers and audio still through headphones. That was fine.
When I have the headphones (standard, no controls) plugged in and media playing, the ringer will only ring at the level the media is set at. You can move the slider back and forth but it will stop increasing the volume for the ringer when it gets to the media slider setting. If I increase media slider, the volume for ringer will increase. It will go lower when reduced below media setting. The volume for the media setting seems to be a cap for all volume while headphones are inserted. It must be a bug in GB because Verizon was able to reproduce it. I need the phone to ring loud when under these specific conditions as I get called to go to work, it HAS to be able to wake me up. Ive performed a full factory reset and asked if I can go back to Froyo without a root and, no dice.
Just wondering if this is a bug or intentional? Whenever I have my headphones plugged in and I get a text notification (or any notification really) the noise plays through my headphones and through my speakers on my N5. Is this intentional and is there any way to stop this? I only want the noise coming through my headphones when they're plugged in.
3. Doing the home button reset thing does not work
4. Obviously I can't do the sleep + home button reset.
5. It's been sitting in rice even though I didn't get it wet, maybe someone did.
6. Has been dropped, but that was about 6 months ago, back is shattered but I have a case.
7. Charging doesn't work.
8. Thought it might have done the "black screen" thing where it has to die until I can charge it, but flicking the ringer button doesn't make the phone vibrate like it's set to.
I was wondering if any of you had this issue. I have a LUmia 1520.3 and everything works perfectly, except that if I am listening to music and I get a txt message. If that happens after the message is read and I return to the music the phone starts to play thru the speakers and the headphones.at the same time. There is a significant reduction in the volume thru the headphones but it still plays. I have tried different headphones and the problem persist over the podcast app as well.
All media on the phone won't play sounds through the built in speakers but when I plug in the earphones I can hear it. When I connect the phone to the pc and it sync to iTunes and disconnect the sound comes back but after a while it just goes again. The Os is up to date.
