IPhone 5s :: Using IOS 7.1.2 Mutes Itself During Calls
Sep 9, 2014
My iPhone 5S (using iOS 7.1.2) mutes itself during calls. It also selects Face Time and the speaker phone function periodically; however, it mutes phone calls on a daily basis. At first I thought the issue was a screen protector that I put on my phone; however, after removing the screen protector from the area where the sensor is (by the speaker on the top part of the phone below the front facing camera), it continues to mute my calls. This is a hardware or software issue? The issue doesn't seem to get better or worse, it pops up the most when I use my phone for a prolonged period of time, but there doesn't appear to be any patterns for when this happens.Â
Everything I've found about this issue relates to older iPhones, which makes me think it's an old software issue.Â
I have a Sony Z3 D6653 running Android 5.1.1 and I have noticed a slightly frustrating issue. When on a call using the Sony headphones that came with the phone, everything starts off well. When the screen locks however, the microphone on the headphones mute. Unlocking the screen does not unmute the headphones, nor does muting and unmuting the call through the phone application.
The only way to unmute the microphone is to unplug the headphone, then the phone's microphone will work. It also starts working once the headphones are replaced. I have been having bluetooth microphone problems, which I still haven't resolved, and will post on another thread. In order to try and fix that, I have taken off noise suppression, equaliser, and any other microphone / noise related enhancements. I have left Okay Google working on all screens though.
First of all i am a loyal galaxy fan since the s1.. but the recent lag i been getting is unbearable. Whenever an app updates in the background. ... the phone lags like hell. Switching between i have to wait at least 30 seconds. The keyboard lags. This should not happen on the "fastest phone out". It will lag the same way on my s5 in the same situation. I have alrady tried a factory reset, and wipe cache and i shouldnt eveb have to do that on a 2015 flagship phone to prevent lag. I mean the phone is blazing fast but its only sometimes
Another annoyance is that whenever i have my headphones on listening to music. The volume will lower and mute all by itself, the phone will start to vibrate and Google Now will launch by itselt. And once again the same thing happened on my s5
This is unnaceptable for me to have to go through this but I'm still in love with my galaxy s6 edge!
I never had this problem with my past Nexus phones so I'd think it's a Samsung thing. But when playing music, it will mute for a good 2 seconds or so and then resume after the notification.
This is annoying but becomes even more annoying when you are in a back and forth text exchange, or in a group text. Then the music will mute and you'll hear a loud notification constantly..
How do I disable this "feature". I don't completely recall how it was on my Nexus 5 because it was implemented so perfectly that I didn't even have to think about it and never had a problem.
When someone calls me and the phone in my pocket it mutes while I'm walking. I opened the setting and disabled (Quiet ring on pickup , Pocket mode , Auto answer calls) and i found something on setting called (Flip to mute) , i want to disable it too but i can't ! , it's options are (Mute once , Always Mute)...
My daughter is using a X10 mini (Android 2.1), and is using an mp3 as the ringer melody. If she mutes one call (by the speaker shown in uper right corner or by the volume buttons on the side of the phone), then the next calls are all on mute. She has to restart the phone, in order to have the ringer playing the mp3 again
iPhone 4 (iOS 7.1) -- Found 4 Face time calls listed as missed, but I never received any audible alert that a call was attempted When I discovered the missed calls, had my husband call me on Face Time and it rang through properly. The 4 missed calls were all from my daughter, who is listed in my contacts; all came in one after the other (not at different times).
I live in Downtown Los Angeles, so reception isn't a problem. I usually always get full bars. However, when talking on long phone calls 20+ minutes with full bars, my phone will just cut off and say call failed. Then I have no reception, then it just comes back.
Is this a iPhone issue or a ATT issue? I have an odd suspicion it's my phone because it occurs so frequently, but Ive had difficulty asking the apple bar to replace my phone just because of reception issues.
My phone will not make calls, but I can still text just fine. I want to make sure if it's a network issue or if something happened with the phone itself. I have never dropped it and I always have the projective screens/covers.
I can make calls but I cant receive all of the calls. What happends is the phone rings then you swipe the screen to receive then there is nothing but the call has been answered, sometimes(not all) I can put on the microphone to fix this but this does nt work all the time.
The person is on the other end and No "mute has not been hit" the only thing i can think of is a loose wire internally or a software problem?? that does not mean its right, hence I am asking?
Never had problems with Nokia in the past, and after happily purchasing a Nokia X6-00 16GB in the month of March of this year, my thoughts on Nokia only reinforced WHY i've always gone with Nokia.
Now, i purchased the phone when i was living in England, i moved back to Cyprus in April shortly after the purchase and got the phone unlocked, put in a Cypriot Sim card with CytaMobile. Everything was just great.
This past month as been slightly less of a joy though, out of no fault of my own, the phone seems to stop recieving and making calls, all calls get diverted to my answer phone, and to solve this problem i have had to turn the phone off, then back on again. Problem solved.
That was until this morning. I can still recieve texts but if someone attempts to call me, they are greeted with a 'beep' and then the phone call ends on their end.
For me i am greeted with deadly silence, then a little notification saying 'No Answer'.
I have restarted the phone;
Restored Factory Settings'
Upgraded to the latest firmware it will let me, being v20;
Still no luck, i am hoping it is not an internal problem with the phone, as in Cyprus as far as 'Offical' nokia care points are non-existant. The SIM card is on a contract, so if my phone had been cut off, so would my messaging and my internet which are all still in-use, and work just fine without problems.
On another note, if you are unable to find a cause for that problem, maybe you can give me a quick reasoning on why the phone shuts itself off when i choose the facebook application on occasions. Again only over the past month has this been happening.
I love my FlipOut, really, but I borrowed a Samsung ACE (android) from my daughter for the week-end, and I must say that it is by far superior as a phone. No dropped calls, no "emercency calls only", no unsent text messages, no buffer overrun while streaming radio from the net.It seem that the size matters, when reception is poor.
We've upgraded successfully our two US Moto X Pure Edition devices to Marshmallow yesterday. After upgrade completed, the numbers of calling contact are not being recognized anymore, although these contact exists and saved in android's Contact app, and backed up in Gmail accounts. Also, all incoming and outgoing calls in the call log are not recognized, although they were recognized before the upgrade.
This is very critical for us, since one of the phones is used as a business phone and it's crucial for us to know who's calling.
Experiencing super low microphone volume when using hangout calls on speakerphone/video calls? The other person i'm calling says they can barely hear me.
I have been a BB lover for years. My Curve 5320 served me well and I loved it. When the new Bold 9700 was released I was one of the first to get it b/c businesses were offered the opportunity to get it before individuals. I was so excited about 3G, it's sleek look, etc. My excitement has officially crashed and burned. When placing calls it will fail repeatedly before even dialing the number. It will fail during calls up to 5 and 6 times in a few minute period, which is HORRIBLE during business calls. It will lock up when I'm trying to move between apps, it will spontaneously shut itself off. I'm feeling like my BB is possessed. This is my second 9700. The first the E key would stick or repeat 20 times on a text and the calls would fail, so they diligently sent me a new one. Thankfully, I no longer have to edit every text for 100 e's (i'm stopping @ theeeeeee storeeeeeeeeeee is theeeeeeereeeeeee anything you neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed), but the failed calls thing is really pissing me off! Also, the volume on calls is really low in comparison to my Curve. To top it off, the 3G speed seems as slow as, if not slower than my former EDGE. I am hoping and praying that a software upgrade will fix all of these issues, but if it doesn't are there any suggestions as to what i can do? Other than switching to an iPhone? I for one happen to love my Qwerty keyboard and am not exactly fond of the on-screen keyboards.
My 920I Galaxy S6 has stopped receiving calls, either if I am using the phone or it is locked I won't receive any call, I have to restart my phone to get the messages of missed calls and call them back. I tried many different modems, bootloader, roms and firmwares and nothing has worked. Also, I tried both on WIFI and 3G/4G and it doesn't work.
I've just bought a Storm 2 and I am not happy at all.I thought Blackberry would market & sell a product after have been well tested and ready to go.My Storm2 does not have anything installed just the stuff which came with the smartphone. By other way, my Blackberry does not have any service running: Email, Internet, any other apps. I just have been used to call and get incoming calls and to synchronize with Outlook.
1. The problem 1. is that very often my calls (in or out) are interrupted. I loose the signal, with no one other advise or signal. Suddenly I don't hear anything anymore.
2. The problem 2. is that during calls I often get OS restart. Suddenly during a voice comm the phone turns off and restart. When it turns on again, alone, he gives the following message: "Uncaught Exception: Missing Resource Net.Rim.Device.Apps.Internal.Bis.Resource.BISClient"
Frequently - typically once a day - I synchronize the Storm 2 and consequently get it online updated. This is stopping me to use my new phone. Keep using my old iPhone and start thinking that using Desire or iPhone would be much better.
