Lumia 1520 :: Audio In Calls Dropping Out
Jan 5, 2016My sound keep cutting out while I am in call :( The sound works great on speakerphone but as soon as I switch back to the normal earpiece it cuts out intermittently.
Music works great and earphones work fine too, It only drops sound when I make/and receive calls. It's a real pain to have a conversation when you can't hear the other person 50% of the time.
I recently had a new battery and another internal battery/charging related component changed because the battery wouldn't hold a charge or charge at all for that matter. They also changed the screen and rear case which was nice :D But the sound fault was not there before I sent my phone off for repair so it could be the new audio jack on the rear case that is faulty ...

Aug 7, 2014The audio quality in videos was very impressive after Cyan update which introduced surround sound option in video settings (Nokia Camera). However the GDR1 update seems to reduce the audio to mono on my phone. Compare your videos before and after GDR1 and see if there is a change in audio quality.

Oct 14, 2014I'm an happy owner of a lumia 1520. unfortunately i discovered that randomly (more or less once per week) the phone audio service / device completely stops, i cannot hear calls, xbox music or other players fail to play files and so on. xbox music reports error 8007045D. I have to restart the device to solve the issue.

Sep 28, 2014I'm relatively new to using the lumia 1520, and have just about got my start screen setup how I like it with tiles. However one thing that is bugging me, is that I can't appear to change the text size displayed in the calendar tile on my start screen. Is this normal?
I've messed with text slider in ease of access to see if this would improve things, which it does in other apps & internet explorer, but it doesn't appear to have any effect on the text size displayed in the calendar tile. If this is the norm, do you think that the size of text in the calendar tile may be able to be changed in a update. I'm running official 8.1.
IPhone :: How To Turn Of Audio Alerts While I'm Trying To Sleep
Mar 21, 2012At night, while I'm trying to sleep, I don't want to be disturbed by audio notifications, but I still want calls and the alarm clock to wake me. If I use the "Ring/Silent Switch", it kills the audio notifications nicely, but also kills the tone for calls - and I missed 2 important calls last night. I know I can disable Wi-Fi, but then I won't get any emails and I need to be able to have my emails up-to-date. I often have scheduled work calls in the middle of the night but they can get cancelled so I like to be able to quickly check for cancelled calls before I fully wake up, so I can go back to sleep in possible.Is the only way to go through the Notification Centre and manually turn each time of notifcation off?
View 5 Replies View RelatedBB Bold 9700 :: No Audio Alerts For Email - How To Get Them Back
Feb 11, 2010Just activated my new Bold 9700 with Bell this morning. Everything works except for the email audio alerts.I'm quite frustrated with it as I have tried many solutions, hopefully a tech rep here can provide a method that I have not already tried.
When I receive an email, the LED light comes on, the red asterisk appears in the main message section but there is no audio alert. I have the profile set to normal, sonar ping as the audio choice and set to always on inside or out of holster. This all started after I tried syncing with the contacts of my old device, a Blackberry 8830 with Bell.
Here is a recap, in chronological order.
-9700 activated, voice calls work, classic phone ring tone works, went to BIS site, set up my two email accounts with Gmail and Yahoo. Received messages and email audio alerts.
-the problem started once I synced my old 8830, version 4.5.0.127 with desktop mgr and transferred the address book and BB msgr contacts to the 9700.
-the email audio alerts stopped working on both gmail and yahoo, still getting the emails though. Strange because when the audio alert worked, the red asterisk indicating a new email would appear on both the message section and the gmail/yahoo message section. With the audio alert not working, the red asterisk only appears in the message section.
-at this point, the 9700 is running on v5.0.0.3 something
-the sync also failed to transfer the 8830 address book phone numbers to the 9700. The names and email addresses were transferred but no phone numbers.
-changed the profiles by selecting a different audio alert, turned the wireless network off and on, removed the battery for 5 minutes and re-booted. Still didn't work.
-wiped the device, set up the email again, email audo alerts still not working.
- at this point, I returned to the dealer for help. They used their desktop manager to sync with my 8830. Their sync worked better as the phone numbers were able to transfer over. Again though, no email audio alerts.
-dealer spent 90 minutes, yes 90 minutes working on my device. He did the same methods I tried......twice. They wiped my device.....twice. Updated the service books, changed the normal profile to a alert tone other than sonar, still not working.
-store was closing so dealer suggested I remove the BIS email from the old 8830. Keep in mind my 8830 and 9700 have different mobile numbers on seperate accounts.
-return home and decided to do the opposite of the dealer's suggestion, I deleted the BIS email (through BIS site on my PC) on the 9700 instead of the 8830 and registered it again. It worked!!! Getting email audio alerts on both email accounts!!! Now sync it to desktop manager for back up, once I do it asks if I want to upgrade to v5.0.0.423. I back up my profile and click ok.......bad idea. Once that happenned, the email audio alerts stopped working again.
-restored the back up data I just saved, email audiio alerts not working. Then removed and re-added the BIS emails again, plus updated new service books and audio alert options in normal profile.
-repeated battery removal, turning network off and on, no luck.
As of this moment, I have a 9700 with v5.0.0.423, updated service books and two BIS emails (gmail and yahoo) that are still not giving email audio alerts. Is this a software issue or a defect within my own device? What can I do to correct this? It's imperative for me to reply to my BIS emails in a timely manner so the email audio alerts are a must for me.
Also, my 8830 was on a BES up until four weeks ago. Now it's on BIS only although one of the BES settings is still present and I haven't been able to remove it. I'm talking about the password security feature, the 8830 always asks for my pw to unlock it. Haven't been able to disable it from the security options screen.

I jut happened to open my computer one day when I apparently had an event and it alerted me on my MacBook. I need it to alert me on my phone because I'm not always on my computer when I need to be alerted. Any know how to get the calendar to alert me on my phone?

Sep 10, 2014My iphone5 alerts are way too soft, and I can't hear them. The ringer is set to max, but I can't figure out how to set the calendar alerts to high. When I do a hard reset it works for a while (less than a day) but then goes way down in volume. I need a good, loud alert for appointments. I've set it to vibrate, but it's not always in a pocket so I can feel it. I think it started after the last iOS update, but it seems more recent than that.

Apr 12, 2015I have three Lumia phones, a 920, a 1020, and a 1520. With each I just attach a USB, copy the camera roll files to my PC. With the first two, I open the video mp4 files on the PC and Windows Media player has no problem. Not so with the 1520, with any video file copied to the PC, it says: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." Again, the same video file plays fine on the 1520 that shot it.On the PC, Quicktime and Movie Maker choke on video files too. I tried a hard reset of the 1520 but it did nothing.

I believe it is synced automatically to Sky-drive but I cannot find evidence of this. I would like to have control of this data for easy retrieval and stored on my PC. Windows phone software on my PC is sub standard in comparison with Nokia Suite. It is clunky, contacts cannot be backed up, photos have no picture reference when transferred and the overall Windows Phone software on my PC is second rate in contrast to the Windows Phone 8 phone experience. Can anyone enlighten me on how I can easily copy my contacts to PC. No problem getting contacts into the phone. Just unclear on how to get a copy of them out.

Feb 9, 2015When listening to the Music app on my 1520 (16 GB ATT) and using my headphones, sometimes the volume will randomly get louder then quieter in a rhythmic motion.
It does not go from 0 to 30, its more like 5 up, then 5 down. The actual numbers of the volume stay the same, but I can definitely tell there is an increase and decrease. I've encountered this a few times from different artists (so it is not a style of the artist). Also, it seems to happen whenever the headphones are accidentally pulled out mid-song. After the song is over, the next song seems to be fine. Is there a work around other than waiting for the next song?
