Lumia 1520 :: Several Updates To Apps And System Settings
Jun 19, 2014Last night there were several updates to apps and system settings. One of them had something to do with the display for Lumia devices, but it updated so quickly, I didn't see any info about it. This morning, my 1520 scrolling on the home page is flawless, even scrolling while trying to make it click.

I have the HK RM-937 but flashed the RM-937 VAR EURO GB CV ROM to it so I could get Cyan.

Jan 14, 2015I have a problem with my boss' Lumia 1520. Would love to import photos to 1520 and since every photos are categorized in folders, I just copied all the folders to Pictures folder in SD Card.
What happens next is that these photos don't show up in Photos App. I checked the Storage Sense, it said that there is no photos (0KB), and the size of all the folders I have copied before are shown in Other Storage (~4GBs)
What I have tried:
- Format the SD Card using Storage Sense, then put the SD Card inside the phone and connect it to PC, then moved the photos to the phone using USB Connection. Failed.
- Put the SD Card into my Transcend Card Reader, move the photos into the SD Card then put it again into the phone. Failed.
- Renaming the folders in Files App in Lumia, then check the Photos App whether it has shown up in the album section. Failed.
- Renaming the folders in Windows 7, then check the Photos App whether it has shown up in the album section. Failed.
- Fully format the SD Card using Windows 7, and move the photos to the SD Card and put it again into the phone. In progress: formatting the SD Card.
Lumia 1520 :: Navigation Maps From Internal Storage To External SD Card
Jun 30, 2014On my Lumia 1520 (32GB version) I use a 64GB External SD Card for storage of downloaded apps, music, photo's and movies. Recently I downloaded and installed the programms and all the maps for Nokia Here Drive (complete maps of Europe) and CoPilot GSP (with all Europe Maps). I hoped the maps where stored on the SD Card automatically but they are not. I now 'only' have, next to all installed apps, like 2,06GB internal storage space left. I know this could be enough but nonetheless I'm wondering if it is possible to store the maps of both applications on the external SD card rather than on phone storage and if the programms will still work correctly afterwards. On android devices i'm used to that it works like that. The navigation programm is installed on phone memory and the maps are simply stored on the external sd card.

Feb 17, 2016I'm using Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G25F) and I'm trying to move an app to system but it says system storage is full. I have been searching for a while but couldn't find any solution, every search result take to "how to free up internal storage" but what i need is to free up system storage. My device is rooted and my storages reads as:
Root: 1.57MB free of 3.53GB
Internal storage: 2.8GB free of 25.31GB
So the one I need to free up is root as i need to move an app to system and its not possible if its full.
P.S: i didnt install any apps in system or I would have deleted or moved them to internal storage. I dont even know what taking up all this space.

This is causing super slow boot up, terrible battery life, the back of the phone is hot, email not syncing, laggy everything. I tried a cache wipe and cleaning files using All-in-one toolbox. Phone died and this is what happened when I tried booting up after a charge. Any way before a factory reset?

Jun 7, 2012My computer that I back up my iPhone 4 died before I could get iOS 5 for cloud, now my 32mb phone is full, mostly of precious baby photos and videos. I cannot update to ios5 to get cloud without losing all my stored contacts music and photos. Is there any way around this without purchasing a new computer, which with a new baby we cannot afford. I could afford to pay for extra cloud storage, though.

I am trying so hard not to be frustrated...iOS version 7.0.4 (11B554a), [HW Model: iPhone6, 1], iOS version 7.1.2 will not update. iCloud Total Storage is 25.0 GB with 15.4GB available (iPhone backup is 8.5 GB and iPad mini backup is 1.1 GB, so Total Backups is 9.6GB. I thought buying iCloud data would fix the issue, but it only seems relevant to backups.Yes, this is my 1st iPhone, & iPad, ...the learning curve feels massive compared to my other smartphones. I don't have any music stored or videos because of the storage problem...I am used to using data cards to go back and forth physically from phone to camera to laptop (nonApple obviously), so I am perplexed on how difficult it is to add phone storage; there are no SD card slots, i.e.

Apr 12, 2015I have three Lumia phones, a 920, a 1020, and a 1520. With each I just attach a USB, copy the camera roll files to my PC. With the first two, I open the video mp4 files on the PC and Windows Media player has no problem. Not so with the 1520, with any video file copied to the PC, it says: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." Again, the same video file plays fine on the 1520 that shot it.On the PC, Quicktime and Movie Maker choke on video files too. I tried a hard reset of the 1520 but it did nothing.

Lumia 1520 :: Volume Going Up And Down Without Touching
Feb 9, 2015When listening to the Music app on my 1520 (16 GB ATT) and using my headphones, sometimes the volume will randomly get louder then quieter in a rhythmic motion.
It does not go from 0 to 30, its more like 5 up, then 5 down. The actual numbers of the volume stay the same, but I can definitely tell there is an increase and decrease. I've encountered this a few times from different artists (so it is not a style of the artist). Also, it seems to happen whenever the headphones are accidentally pulled out mid-song. After the song is over, the next song seems to be fine. Is there a work around other than waiting for the next song?

The "Checking for updates..." message will appear, but more than five minutes later, nothing happens. When the lock screen appears and I unlock it, it now says "Your phone is updated" but the "Last checked" date was the date of the last check when things are still ok.

Mar 26, 2015My mom has a 1520 and every time she calls I can barely hear her but she can hear me quite well. Same thing happens when she calls others and they all complain they can hardly hear her. After 5 or 6 secs into the call the volume gets a little louder but not as loud as it should be. She even set it to full level at 10. I asked her to connect a headset/earphones while on the call and that actually worked and the volume was loud and clear but as soon as she unplugs the earphones, the volume drops to a very low level.

Jul 26, 2014Running the latest DP build of WP 8.1 (8.10.12397.895) and, of course, would like to downgrade back to WP 8 so I can get the Cyan update.
Problem is that my phone is not being recognized on any computer I plug it into.
I've tried two Win 8.1 machines, a Win 2K12 and a Win 7. On all of them, I've completely uninstalled all of the Nokia software (three of the four machines had never had the software installed) and then reinstalled both the NSU and NSU for Retail. No go.
I did a reset on my phone. No go.
I removed both the SIM and the SD card. No go.
I've toggled the hidden USB settings on the phone. No go.
I've rebooted the phone upteen times. No go.
The phone is simply not being detected by the desktop OS and is not being installed on the computer.
I've tried everything I can think of to get this to work.

Dec 5, 2015I recently screwed my phone by placing the phone in window for network coverage during rain. As the rain water spilled over it and few drops got it and brought me some weird issue.
1) Capacitive lights are not working . Only back arrow light didn't work.
2) Mic also not working.
I take it to Nokia care and got it fixed without warranty since it is two year old.And the technician told be that he changed many spare parts and he make use of 1320 spare and got it fixed. And now I feel my phone is getting very hot while charging and warm during normal usage in the top right corner of back side. I don't see heating issue on my other Lumia 1320 and 640 xl

Jan 7, 2015After I press the on/off button or after the screen times out, I've noticed that after some amount of time the phone will have turned back on by itself. I then noticed that it was actually rebooting. I think it may have started doing this after I installed the VLCPlayer app.
