My Bluetooth between my Lumia 1520 and my yoga 2 13 (Windows 8.1) will not stay connected for more than 5 seconds. I don't get an error message, simply that my devices are not connected.

all updates to both phone and pc are current,phone is on PfD and current (8.1.1)laptop is windows 8.1 pro.have tried phone on another laptop with same result.have tried son's phone, also a 1520 with PfD and 8.1.1.his phone connects with no issues.is it possible i am missing something? a driver from phone, maybe?
i need to be able to connect phone to laptop. shortof a hard reset and unenrolling in PfD, what are my options.also can't send in for warranty, as this is primary device and no spare windows phone in home.
Lumia 1520 used to be flawless connecting to the paired Bluetooth in my car. Nothing has changed in the car. No updates or upgrades.
After the Denim update the phone will sometimes connect, and then after 1 or 2 successful connections, it will fail to connect although it still shows as paired. A reboot or re-pairing usually solves the issue and the cycle repeats.
Looking for a wireless (wifi) speaker that I could use to stream music from my Lumia 1520 to. If I can stream from Windows 8 that would be bonus. So far all I've found is this speaker, but it looks like you need to buy an add-on wireless card for it. Plus it's a little on the expensive side. NEW! The speaker phone has a LOUD hissing sound whenever I dial out. By "speaker phone", I mean that when I dial a phone number, I click on the "Speaker" button in the dial pad to have a hands free phone call. This is an essential feature for me as I have phone conference meetings where I need to be using the computer and thus need my hands free.
The hissing sound is consistent and remains there for the entire call. When someone speaks it is reduced but when silence comes back, the hissing takes over
In two years of using the 920, I NEVER had an issue with the speaker phone in thousands of conversations, even after I upgraded to Cyan.
However, from day one, the 1520 speaker phone has a background hissing sound. Even with a 4 or 5 bar LTE connection (I live in DFW). Lowering the speaker volume to 5 (from 10), lowers the hissing sound but does not eliminate it.
As there are no audio controls (other than the Equalizer)...

After 8.1 update, when listening to music via wired headphones, inbound text announcement will notify me, spoken response of ignore will result in audio resuming on headphones AND back speaker concurrently.
I want to connect nokia N95 8gb with my Laptob using bluetooth serial port, but i'm shocked when discovered N95 does not support serial port profile and the laptob can not open virtual bluetooth serial port to transfer data.

I had someone swap out the Bluetooth chip for a working one and it still doesn't work. Ive tried updating it and hard resetting it as well... I am exasperated and running out of options.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI purchased a new ATT 1520 about 6 weeks ago. I love everything about the phone. The only problem that occurs every once and a while is my Blutooth starts cutting in and out. Most of the time it works fine. Usually it happens in my car. It will work once and then I make a stop and re-establish the connection it starts cutting in and out almost like a record skipping. I have tried to turn off Blutooth and rediscover.
I have completely taken it out of my car's discovered blutooth connections and started over. I have turned off wifi. Restarted my phone. I also thought maybe it was the Live Lock Beta app so I uninstalled and it did work but it still happens on occasion. It also happens on occasion when I'm listening to my Motorola blutooth headset. At first I thought it may have been notifications coming in but just kept doing it.
Before the 8.1 update, my 1520 used to connect perfectly to my car and allow me to:
1. Send and reply to texts using my voice only
2. Play music that was on my phone on the car audio system.
3. Make and answer calls through the car audio.
After the update, I can only make and answer calls.!When I receive a text, the message is read out and I can dictate a reply and correct it but no matter how many times I say "send", it NEVER sends it! It's almost like it can't recognise the word. It does recognise it though because I can use the word "send" in a message.
As for music, my car recognised that bluetooth audio is available and also the name of the track, but it won't play it at all.My phone behaves in exactly the same way in my wife's car too. Before the update, it worked perfectly there too.
I would really love to use the 1520 as a work/personal note-taking device. I already use OneNote extensively. I saw the 1520 at the AT&T store today and fell in love, but the final thing for me to justify a 6" monster would be the keyboard issue.

Next time I am in the car i will manually go to connect and then it will fail and ask me to pair the next time i click on my cars bluetooth name. Also it thinks its a reaction headset. When i am connected to it, in accessories it still says its disconnected.

The reason being I want to be able to plug it into my speaker system, and use it as a receiver for my PC laptops music. There must be a way/app to do this. I don't want to have to fork out for Bluetooth speakers, and using long audio wires to connect directly are just a pain.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my 1520 for about a year and I simply cannot get it to play music through Bluetooth without the sound jumping, dropping out, cracking up, etc etc. I mostly try to use it in my car (with a LG infotainment system). It's a dead loss. Making a BT connection is no problem, neither is speaking through the BT handsfree in my car - just the music playback quality.
What I have tried:
.Now running Windows 10 10166 on the phone. I was hoping that changing from Windows 8.1 might work. No luck. Incidentally, when the phone still ran Win 8.1, I tried resetting it twice (on the advice of Nokia support) - to no avail.
.I have, about 50 times, removed all Bluetooth connections then re-enabled them in my car and on the phone. No good.
.This led me to believe it was an issue with my LG car system. However, when I play music through BT with my old Android Samsung Galaxy Note 2 or my daughter's IPhone 5, it works without issue. This seems to point to a Nokia hardware issue.
.I also experimented playing music on a standalone JBL BT speaker. Same problem. Again, points to a hardware issue.
I am using Lumia 1520 with latest build of Windows 10. I have a 128gb sd card and if I play music through my car bluetooth in Honda Accord, none of the album and artist information is showing on the car display. Also, I am not able to use my car volume or music controls to control the music. I even tried using music that is not in sd card. Is this a bug in windows 10 phones?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 8.1 on my 1520 and use my Bluetooth headset 97% of the time. I leave it connected all the time and noticed that I do not hear audible incoming text messages, e-mail alerts etc....... The alert sounds come through the Bluetooth headset, so just because I have my Bluetooth connected to my 1520 doesn't mean that I wear my headset all the time, so if I'm not wearing the headset a text message for example will come in and play the alert through the headset but I won't hear it obviously, so I have to check my phone periodically to see if I have text messages or e-mails that have come in.
My wife has even complained that I don't respond to her text messages right away the way I use to when I had my Note 2. On the Note my Bluetooth would be connected just like I do with my 1520, but the sounds/alerts would still be through the phone and audible for me to hear unless I put the phone on silent. Is this an oversight on MS part? Or just something that'll be fixed when the official 8.1 update rolls out???
Prior to Denim when I would receive a text message in the car it would play it through the Bluetooth like a phone call...... that no longer works and it was a very handy feature .
View 6 Replies View RelatedNokia lumia 1520 DP8.1 connected to wifi but unable to access internet. It shows the connection as "limited"
Other fact:
1. never had this issue in wp8.0
2. all other gadgets (laptop, note, galaxy tab) do not have issue with connection and internet to the wifi router at home
3. NL1520 sometimes have internet connection when connected, but I cannot tell the pattern (I thought it was limit of connection, but it wasn't).
4. If connect my laptop to router, and then make my laptop as an internet router(use Spotify for example), NL1520 can connect to laptop's wifi and ALWAYS have internet connection (this has been my work around solution)
5. NL1520 can connect to other router in public just fine, so only my router at home.. but fact the other gadgets has no issue, I assume it is NL 1520 issue
I've spent 8 hours trying to solve this. It used to be really easy with PC-Suite and now it's unbelievably hard. I use my phone to connect my laptop to the internet and now I can't do this(?). How do I do this with Lumia?

View 1 Replies View Relatedsave my lumia 1520. I made the mistake of flashing my lumia 1520 (RM-937) with a lumia 1520 (RM-938) ROM ever-since my phone started acting out. I flashed the phone back to its original ROM which is Hong-kong ROM with windows phone recovery tool, it has not fixed the issue. The phone does not connect to GSM network anymore. It appears that the band might have been messed up.

Android tablets and iPhones having no issues connecting. Have restarted the router, verified MAC Address. Deleted MAC from access control. Disabled all security (made it an open network) and it still will not connect.
