Nokia Lumia :: Connect Laptop To Internet Using It?
Mar 4, 2012
I've spent 8 hours trying to solve this. It used to be really easy with PC-Suite and now it's unbelievably hard. I use my phone to connect my laptop to the internet and now I can't do this(?). How do I do this with Lumia?
I have a laptop connected to internet via ADSL USB Modem, there is a wi-fi network created on the laptop that I use to connect another laptop to the internet. When I connect my N96 to that network, everything works great except when trying to access a web site, it says "General: Feature not supported!”Is that kind of connection not supported or what?
Can anybody will assist me as how do I connect n900 internet using my Lap top.. Since I don't have data package which is very steep in UAE where im living currently. Im sharing wired connection with my friend and we don't even have the wireless modem. Previously i had Samsung Window Mobile device which use to connect the internet via my lap top but this N900 does not recognizes at all.
I got a lumia 800 last week and the internet was working fine - then the last couple of days the internet wont work. It does occasionally work with wifi but not all the time (and the wifi is working as it works on my laptop). Wont connect to hotmail also. Settings all appear to be ok.
Like an idiot i forgot to bring my express and now dont have wifi in my hotel room, but the laptop i brought (a dell) has bluetooth. so is it possible to connect an unjailbroken iphone 4 with the newest firmware to my dell, and use internet over the bluetooth? To clarify, I HAVE an internet connect on my laptop, and i want to be able to connect my iphone ober bluetooth, to my dell inorder to use the internet on my iphone.
I want to use my internet connection running on my laptop (in office or through TATA Photon) with my neo V. I have seen doing same by HTC/Samsung smartphones... Is there any way to configure NEO V to use laptop's internet connection. I tried few 3rd party and built in wi-fi spot. but nothing works. Neo doesn't identifiy wirless network. Is there any way using wif-fi, blutooth or usb.. etc.. by which i can run internet on neo. using my laptops connection. My OS is vista enterprise.
I have just bought a new Samsung Galaxy S2. I am unable to use the phones 3G services in my flat as there is no service or a very poor mobile phone service. I thought I could connect the phone to my laptop which is wired into broadband and use that. Any ideas on how to that ? The laptop is connected to a wired broadband service, there is no router.

My Bluetooth between my Lumia 1520 and my yoga 2 13 (Windows 8.1) will not stay connected for more than 5 seconds. I don't get an error message, simply that my devices are not connected.
On my Nokia Lumia 1320, I am unable to connect to my Wi-Fi. It says "Your Phone Won't be able to connect to the internet provided by this network". My phone is able to connect to the other Wi-Fi and other phones are able to connect through my Wi-Fi.
I have the Nokia BH-905 bluetooth headphones, and I have successfully connected them to the iPad 2. I cannot, however, find a way to connect them to my Dell Studio 14, Windows 7, 64-bit. I follow all the instructions to a T, but my computer does not recognize the heaphones when I click "Add a Device."
Nokia lumia 1520 DP8.1 connected to wifi but unable to access internet. It shows the connection as "limited"
Other fact:
1. never had this issue in wp8.0
2. all other gadgets (laptop, note, galaxy tab) do not have issue with connection and internet to the wifi router at home
3. NL1520 sometimes have internet connection when connected, but I cannot tell the pattern (I thought it was limit of connection, but it wasn't).
4. If connect my laptop to router, and then make my laptop as an internet router(use Spotify for example), NL1520 can connect to laptop's wifi and ALWAYS have internet connection (this has been my work around solution)
5. NL1520 can connect to other router in public just fine, so only my router at home.. but fact the other gadgets has no issue, I assume it is NL 1520 issue
I want to connect nokia N95 8gb with my Laptob using bluetooth serial port, but i'm shocked when discovered N95 does not support serial port profile and the laptob can not open virtual bluetooth serial port to transfer data.
WIth my previous phone i use them as a modem that is enabling my pc to connect to the internet via my phone. Is it possible with the 1320 and how to do it?
I have a C3-00 I wish to link to my laptop WLAN signal but, it could not even detect the signal while PCs effortlessly connect to my WLAN. is there a special way to setup the WLAN on the laptop to make it detectable by my mobile phone?
i would like to pair my Nokia BH-104 bluetooth headset with my HP laptop running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.I can pair the headset but the drivers are not installed correctly. It is decognzed as a Bluettoth Periphelial Device, but not as a headset. Updating the drivers fails.
I have some videos taken at the weekend that I would like to preserve. I understand that Zune is the way to do this, so I downloaded the Zune install package and transferred it to my laptop. However Zune refuses to install as my laptop does not have its own internet connection. I'm now stuck.
Why does Zune require an internet connection? Is there an alternative transfer method that doesn't have this restriction?
I have an issue with my e72-1 at the moment. It's either the phone, the ovi software.I have the following: Nokia e72 < acts as modem via cable or bluetooth > laptop..When it acts over modem via either cable or bluetooth, I can only access certain sites eg.I can't access google, or msn messenger for instance I can access wikipedia, and my ISPs website as an example.Originally I thought it was because it was only able to access australian servers, but this isn't the case. My browser just seems unable to get a connection to certain sites/servers ever - it times out when i try to view google - but only when my phone is the link to the internet. On the phone, I can access every site/server that I want. But not on my laptop via the phone. When I'm on another internet connection (home or work etc), I have no issues connecting to those sites/servers from my laptop.Browsing google over other connections has not helped me find a solution yet. The connection to the net is stable - it doesn't drop out and can remain connected indefinitely.I'm running:
Laptop version: windows7, with ovi 2.2.0.241
Phone version: 031.023
The results have been the same on earlier versions of the phone and ovi software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Today I got Tango update that enable "Internet Sharing" on my Lumia 710. I enable Internet Sharing, it create a Wifi hotspot, that I am able to get connected with my Laptop Wireless Settings. However When I try to run internet on laptop it doesn't work, as phone doesn't seems to be responding to Laptop Queries [as windows troubleshooter tell], but Internet web browsing is working within Phone browser.
