After upgrading my 1020 to black I started getting random phone restarts. Phone turns off and then randomly turns on (can't be turned on manually) . I pick up the phone and often see the enter pin screen. I used the SRTool, had the phone sent to a Nokia care center but to no avail.
View 11 RepliesI have been having random power down / reboot issues with my Lumina 1020 for a few months now, usually once every 24 hours.. They haven't caused any issues on 8.0 (black update) as after the random power down the phone just rebooted and was left on the access point select screen, thus meaning alarms still go off and the correct time maintained.
Since I tried the 8.1 preview the phone would randomly power down (usually once every 24 hours) but not reboot and would remain off and would require a soft reset (vol down + power) to reboot. The downside here is alarms don't go off and calls are missed etc.
I currently have a new sim on order to rule out the sim (note the sim I use has previously been cut down to nano and now sits in a micro adaptor), the sim may work bu I don't hold out to much hope.
I have a 1020 and I have found that periodically and randomly I find that a contact record is gone. I have about 1200 records. Just now I went to get the address for my wife's cousin. The record was gone. Fortunately I have a spreadsheet of all my contacts that I got the info back from.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had the 950XL for almost a week. I set it up off a back up of my 1520, and didnt have any issues for the first few days. When I received my 128 gig SD card, and hard reset, and loaded the backup of itself it does a weird thing that if i look at it wrong, touch the glass wrong, I actually havent figured out why it does it) it restarts. Soft reboot style.
View 24 Replies View RelatedYes, I have a Blackberry Pearl 8120 that I got used for fifty dollars after my old Blackberry Pearl 8100 died. Anyway, to make a long story short it randomly resets itself. The screen goes black, and the LED in the right-hand corner goes red...and then it turns on a few seconds later with a white screen and an hourglass in the center. After a minute or two, it reboots the homescreen and operating system as if nothing happened.
This happens at random intervals, and I do not know what is causing it. Sometimes it will happen several times in a row and other times it will not happen for several hours. It can happen at any time whether you are in the middle of a phone call or if you simply have it on a table and you are not even touching it.
I have done the following steps to determine the problem:
1. I have removed the media card to determine if that was the problem - No change
2. I have removed the SIM card to determine if that was the problem - No change
3. I have reinstalled the operating system - No change
4. I have tried clearing the message log - No change
5. I have made sure that the battery was not loose - No change
6. I have switched batteries - No change
7. I have tried wiping the memory - No change
The only apps I have on it are the original ones that it came with. I do not know what else it could be as I have done all that my carrier suggested. I would rather not have to get a new phone as I like this phone and I do not need all of the extra stuff on it that newer models have.
New phone last week on UK o2. Since day one phone randomly reboots, sometimes when just lying on the desk in Lock Mode. other then doing a factory restore, which shouldn't be required on a 5 day old phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy device is GS6, few days ago received OTA update. Updated phone like usual and all went fine. Few days later started noticing that device randomly restarting. Today it happened 4 or 5 times so far, mainly when I want to unlock screen, after swipe everything freezes and device restarts.
Also when I left phone on charge, come back to it, unplugged charger and phone is dead, won't start won't respond to anything. After pressing volume key power and home button, I managed to restart it.
My phone was running hot, so I decided to shut it down to cool. Instead of shutting down, though, it rebooted. When it was done, I waited a minute, and tried again. Reboot. Again. Reboot. Finally, decided to try a soft reset and that seemed to fix it. This isn't the first time it decided not to shutdown and restarted instead, but first time it did it three times in a row. At least the soft reset worked. 1520 on 8.1 DP -- hoping the "official" rollout takes care of these little issues.

I played hearthstone and other graphic intensive games and my cpu temp spikes up to 75c then goes back to 60c+ (using Cpu Temperature Pure). I started using the app when I felt that the device is getting hot. I am a noob at all of this and I want to know is the app giving me the right numbers? Any other way that I can check if my device is having hardware problems?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIf I don't touch the phone ie make calls txt etc then it will stay on until the battery dies. if I pick it up and use it in anyway after a few minutes it will shut down(red light) and try to restart. and I mean try because it goes into a restart loop but only the timer dial shows up for a second or two and then red light light again. Even if I pull the battery and reinstall it still does not boot. However if I install a different battery(spare) the phone will completely startup. I have tried upgrading the os downgrading the os, unistalling all third party apps nothing helps. PS auto on/off is disabled. And why does putting a different battery in it change anything?

Yesterday was worse because I was texting someone and.. during that 20 minutes, it restarted itself 4 times! I did some experimenting these past few weeks, I switched my phone to safe mode for a day or so, and the problem never occured.. not even once! Back to the problem, I have a feeling it might be some of the apps I have (I dont have that much apps), I got rid all of my game apps but problem is still occuring.
View 11 Replies View Relatedrandom restarts - the first month i had my electrify, it would only restart itself once a week or so. now within the last couple of weeks its jumped up to around 5 times a day. i kept track of variables as the restarts happened, and it does it at any battery level and during anything im doing, such as text, pandora, Internet, in-call. my first guess is that is in app that constantly runs in the background, and i was wondering if any more experianced users could tell me where and what to look for.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a 1320 that I got brand new back on Black Friday from Cricket. The problem is after it has been on for a while, the wireless and/or bluetooth or both shutoff. When I bring the status bar down, the wireless icon and/or the bluetooth icon will be cleared out and not active. If I try to turn it back on, nothing happens, the icons stay black. I reboot and usually that fixes it but not always. Sometimes I have to reboot it a couple of times.
Also my phone sometimes reboots when I'm using the GPS to track my bike rides when the phone is in my bag. I know that because when I get to the end of my ride and check the app, Cyclometer, it stays "it has been shut off, do you want to resume" or something to that effect and then I resume it and a portion of my ride is missing from when it apparently has rebooted. I also have had it reboot on me in the middle of something that doesn't happen often.
My phone is on 8.1 and has no more pending updates. this is eating up my data plan because I normally use wireless at home. I also can't use my bluetooth speaker while riding because if I connect my bluetooth speaker to my phone, the bluetooth will shut off after about 15-25 minutes of use. It first starts to become somewhat intermittent for couple of minutes then bluetooth shuts off altogether.
I recently bought a Nokia 1020 and i suspect that there are something wrong with the camera. The quality of the photos that i take are, in my opinion, nowhere near the ones you can se in reviews and those released by Nokia.
To me it looks like it's only the middle part of every photo that is correctly focused. The edges are very blurry. I have no case on the phone, no dirt on the lens and i have tried to reset the camera and reboot, no difference.
I will attach some photos on which I think you can see it clearly. The images are very sharp in the middle but when you move towards the edges it quickly becomes blurry. Both pictures are taken in daylight with Nokia Pro Cam, all settings on auto.

New to the Windows mobile phone... I use my Windows phone for business and do a lot of conference calls. With my iPhone I used to be able to put the phone number with three commas and then the passcode to the conference call in the meeting request (format = 555-555-5555,,,12121212#). By using this format my customers could just click the link in their iPhone and it would auto-dial the conference number along with the passcode so that they did not have to remember the passcode while driving.
Example: 555-555-5555,,,12121212#. (autohyperlink for iOS)
VS
555-555-5555 Passcode 12121212 then press # (caller can hyperlink the phone number but has to remember the passcode and dial it while driving...)
By using this format you could just click the number and it would dial the number pause then auto add the passcode and # to enter the conference call. I think Blackberry used to use a similar format to achieve the same thing.
Yesterday, I went running with my Lumia 1020 listening to music and using the Runtastic app. The music stopped - I looked at the phone - it was turned off. I tried powering on, but to no avail. I should also mention that upon leaving, the battery was fully charged and this happened after some 20 minutes. When I came home, I immediately put the phone on the wall charger and expected it to power on after a while. I checked it after 3 hours and nothing, the phone was still stone-dead and what was even more worrying, completely cold - no heat-up from charging.
I tried connecting it to my PC - the computer didn't even recognize ANY device was connected to it. Just to be sure, I tried Nokia Software Recovery Tool, but sure enough, it was not able to detect the phone. The phone seems to be dead meat now, but when I put it on my desk wireless charging stand, the stand's indicator lights up, although the phone does nothing and stays that way.
Yesterday I updated my Lumia 1020 to Lumia Cyan. I've been using WP 8.1.1 with developer preview. Today I left my phone at home, I didn't use it and when I tried to pick it up I actually got scared, it was so extremely hot that I thought it will explode. After few seconds I got warning that battery is low but I know that it was around 70% when iI left it(I've left it only for 1 hour). I turned it off so it could cold before I charge it.

I had been listening to music on my way to work this morning, put the phone down on the table, and no more than an hour later the phone was off. I tried powering it up, but nothing happens, nothing appears on the screen, no startup vibration, etc. The phone had a full charge before work. I know if there is a batteryproblem, the phone will display a red battery picture, but this has not happened.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I leave the phone sitting for a few minutes it drops from H+ to H meaning I can't access the internet on IE or receive Whatsapp messages. If I toggle flight mode on and off or restart the phone it works fine for maybe 10 minutes or so.
I have network selected manually, I have tried automatic selection, it makes no difference. I also have 3G set as the highest connection speed. I upgraded to WP8.1 last week but have had no issues until now.
About a month ago my Lumia 1020 randomly began turning off. I actually just purchased the phone used off eBay around the end of April. The phone itself was in great condition, but I wonder if I would up with a defective model. Since I bought the phone used, I suppose I'm out of luck when it comes to manufacturer's warranty?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a lumia 1020 that i received 2 years ago. i kept it nice and took good care of it. but 3 months ago i tried to update it to windows 10, but i didn't like it so much and got troubled with lots of bugs. so I "factory reset" my phone, so i could return to windows 8.1 again, i came across some kind of spinning gears when resetting. i thought everything would go on, but it seem like to stuck in 30 minutes. Later it shutdown, and begin the update process again.
I can't shut down the phone it the condition, only soft, hard. etc resets works, and when i use one of them. there appears a "low battery sign" that means i have to plug the the charger, afterward it goes back to the the spinning gears, and that is the bootloop. i tried many alternative solutions as the "key combination" or "programs on pc that reset the phone" my phone won't sync with the pc as it should do. it only charge. Now i simply don't know what to do.
My new 1020 doesn't seem to connect to my PC. My 920 connects just fine, I plug it in, I hear the USB connection sound and the app pops up. But my 1020 on the same cable, nothing. The Device Manager doesn't even pick up that anything is there, though the phone does show that it's being charged. I know it's not the cable, and b/c my 920 works it's probably not the PC. I'm worried b/c I installed 8.1 on both my phones and technically that voids the warranty. So if this is a bad device, I may be screwed.

I have tried to connect my lumia 1020 to PC and it's not recgonize it's connect only as charger .. it was good but now i didn't know what happen .. i tried all things likes :
restart my phone
restart my pc
install windows phone app ( didn't recgonize phone as connected )
My Nokia Lumia 1020 will NOT connect to my surface pro 2. I have looked high and low on the internet for a solution. The problem in my opinion lies in the detection and installation of the drivers to the SP2. It plugs in and charges but the computer doesn't detect that there has been anything plugged in. Nothing shows up in file explorer or device manager. But my old Lumia 920 was recognized. Here are a few of the different solutions that I have tried and have fail to fix my problem.
Soft reset when plugged in to install the missing drivers (failed)
Switching different cords to make sure I was using a data cable (failed)
Tried plugging it into multiple different PC's and even a mac (failed)
The stupid phone will not show up anywhere! I am running Windows 10 mobile but I have had this problem in 8.1 for over a year since I bought the phone. This even happened with my first Lumia 1020 I owned when the phone first came out! (Which shattered)
I think the root of the problem lies in the hardware of the phone itself. My guess is the USB port is damaged so it doesn't fully read or something along those lines. It takes a good 5 hour for a charge which seems long to me but I'm not sure.
