I have a 1020 and I have found that periodically and randomly I find that a contact record is gone. I have about 1200 records. Just now I went to get the address for my wife's cousin. The record was gone. Fortunately I have a spreadsheet of all my contacts that I got the info back from.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been having random power down / reboot issues with my Lumina 1020 for a few months now, usually once every 24 hours.. They haven't caused any issues on 8.0 (black update) as after the random power down the phone just rebooted and was left on the access point select screen, thus meaning alarms still go off and the correct time maintained.
Since I tried the 8.1 preview the phone would randomly power down (usually once every 24 hours) but not reboot and would remain off and would require a soft reset (vol down + power) to reboot. The downside here is alarms don't go off and calls are missed etc.
I currently have a new sim on order to rule out the sim (note the sim I use has previously been cut down to nano and now sits in a micro adaptor), the sim may work bu I don't hold out to much hope.
I have some contacts on my phone that somehow were linked to facebook contacts so now when the person calls me his facebook nikename and photo appears. how can I disable this link? I have tried to unmark facebook contacts but it didnt work.

My total contacts list both online and in phone are fine, but my quick access groupings of my contact list are in random order! No one seems to know how to correct short of hard reset.... View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I bought myself a 950 last Thursday and from the beginning I've noticed some problems with the WiFi connectivity. Turning it off and leaving it on 4G would cure all the problems described below.
At first I thought it may have been due to the vast amount of updating apps but after all of that was done (struggled with various errors there too, though).
Now here is what's been happening ever since. When I pick up the phone to do some browsing, it's usually fine at first, but a minute later it would seem that the phone loses the WiFi connection. Edge would say this: [URL] ....
Windows Central app says this every time I open it (even though the newest articles are loaded): [URL] ....
The Store is the worst. It says it's "Acquiring License" for a minute and only then it starts downloading the app which stops usually right away or half way through. Only on rare occasions does it fully download the app. [URL] ....
By the way, I am on Build 10586.29 (not part of the Insider program).
I would like to share this problem i'm having with my lumia 800, and possibly see if someone has a solution to it.After buying this phone from Orange in France a few days ago, it has been making random reeboots 10 to 15 times a day. The only way I have found to get it back, is to turn the phone off and back on, which is a pain. It seems to happen a lot at night, but has happened a couple of times during the day. Then if I slide to enter password, the first number i touch once will be entered many times in milliseconds and the device will give me that i entered wrong password. If I lock and unlock the screen it will return to be responsive correctly to my touches. This happens to me many times daily and lately it became more frequent.

At random times the screen will start shaking as if it's trying to scroll two directions and it will sometimes randomly click things on the screen. It pulls up Cortana alot and the capacitive buttons will stop responding all together. It only stops when I press the power button to turn off the screen but it just randomly starts later. I've tried a soft reset and that did nothing.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a 1320 that I got brand new back on Black Friday from Cricket. The problem is after it has been on for a while, the wireless and/or bluetooth or both shutoff. When I bring the status bar down, the wireless icon and/or the bluetooth icon will be cleared out and not active. If I try to turn it back on, nothing happens, the icons stay black. I reboot and usually that fixes it but not always. Sometimes I have to reboot it a couple of times.
Also my phone sometimes reboots when I'm using the GPS to track my bike rides when the phone is in my bag. I know that because when I get to the end of my ride and check the app, Cyclometer, it stays "it has been shut off, do you want to resume" or something to that effect and then I resume it and a portion of my ride is missing from when it apparently has rebooted. I also have had it reboot on me in the middle of something that doesn't happen often.
My phone is on 8.1 and has no more pending updates. this is eating up my data plan because I normally use wireless at home. I also can't use my bluetooth speaker while riding because if I connect my bluetooth speaker to my phone, the bluetooth will shut off after about 15-25 minutes of use. It first starts to become somewhat intermittent for couple of minutes then bluetooth shuts off altogether.
I think this has been happening ever since the first release of 8.1. Basically if the phone sleeps while a messaging conversation is open, when I wake and unlock the phone, there will often be random gibberish in the compose field. So if I want to send a message, I first have to erase the gibberish.
idk, it's just weird and annoying and I can't figure out what's causing it. My best guess is that it has something to do with typing in the pin code to unlock the phone... which I just realized I should try and test with and without having to type in the pin.
My phone is constantly putting o's into every word, and often just straight up barely types. It also is continuously calling numbers even after I've deleted them from my phone.
I called Bell and they had me wipe my phone and that didn't do anything, so I upgraded the software which also did nothing.
When recording video, the sound of people talking near the phone is too low in volume. The should be an option to adjust the sound recording level/sensibility for the normal use, and then I would use the default current settings for recording music concerts.

To my surprise after doing a hard reset there was an entry on the log that show an SMS message was sent to an unknown number the time show it was sent after setting up the time in the phone setup. Just wondering if its a virus or something cause I bought the phone brand new about 2 months ago, and I just realized it just now after a couple of months.
