Anyone have a CU515 or similar? I have a dead display and need to copy contacts from phone's memory to SIM. I have the manual so I know the menu selection is 8.5. I have tried these keystrokes with some variations with no luck.
Left soft key (for menu)
8
5
OK (center key)
OK
Also tried cursor down once and twice between 8 5 and OK, no luck.LG mobile support tool does not have option to copy contacts via USB either. Can anyone help and tell me keystrokes on your CU515?
When someone asks in this newsgroup for me to attach a screen swipe so that the reader can see what I'm talking about, how do I do that. I know how to make screen stripe swipe. How do you paste it into the text box.
I have had an iphone 3G since Dec-2008 - obviously out of warranty now.Today, the bottom 20% of the screen or so went dead - it won't respond to touches, taps, slides, etc. The rest of the screen responds fine, but this portion is completely out of it.This is particularly problematic b/c it is all of the bar where my 4 favorite icons sit (SMS, Email, Web and Ipod). I did some googling and found the apple Article TS1827, but it didn't say what could be the cause, how to fix it, etc.
1) Any ideas what could be wrong?
2) I have a genius appointment later today, but what are the chances Apple actually fixes or replaces it?
3) What is the best suggestion as to how to fix it if i need to - places to go, or DIYs? Located in NYC.
I recently bought a 5800 and it has a dead pixel on the screen. I was really looking forward to getting this phone and I am now quite disappointed (and disgusted by the service I was offered here in Malta!). I returned it to the shop where I bought it and was told that I have to have at least 5 dead pixels for me to be able to change it. Is this true?
It is still under guarantee as it hasn't even been a month since the date of purchase. They tried to feed me so much bull (including: the laws do not apply for Malta and that i had to go back within the first seven days EVEN THOUGH it clearly says on the guarantee that I have a 30-day period from the date of purchase to take it back).
I there. I bought my n8 yesterday, I used it fine until a couple hours ago now, when it went black screen and nothing happens! Turn it off and then on but the screen does not light up, it shows only the screen protector with the hour and the date, but nothing else happens. What should I do?
A couple days ago I noticed the middle top of my BB Bold 9700 Screen was black, its been increasing and decreasing through the last couple days, I ordered a new lcd screen, will that fix the problem?
I had a 9500 and I found sometimes when the screen turns black after 30 seconds, it could not be activated again with pressing screen or any bottom you could find on the phone. The screen looks black, but I could find back light is on, and I have software for screen image capture, these images I captured when screen failed showed me that all the functions are working, just the screen seems out of connection with the machine. I searched several times and I found it happens while using 9500, but there is no solution. It's not possible for me to return it back to carrier and I wonder if there is any technical analysis or solution on this. And another question, what would you do when typing letters on the edge of the screen?
I have not had one issue with regards to hardware until now... Â Since the 314 update, there seems to me areas (bottom half of screen) that are sometime completely unresponsive to taps..
Just bought a nokia x3, had it for about a week not dropped it or anything, and when i try to turn on all i get is the white screen with nokia logo for about 3 seconds then it turns off and wont let me turn back on (as if battery is flat). When i try to charge it flashes a blank white screen 3 or 4 times (about 2 seconds a time) then goes blank? It does not charge at all.
After putting my phone in my pocket last night, i took it out to realize that it wouldn't turn on. It was charged, but i tried to charge it again, hoping that would wake it--no luck. So, tried soft reset, hard reset, removing the SIM then soft and hard resets, but no luck. Now all I get is a blue screen after the initial AT&T logo. Very sad, I want to like ths phone, but it is hard to use when it is bricked (or I am waiting for a new one). I guess I am off to the AT&T store for a new one...
I just received a used blackberry bold 9000. I still have not been able to turn it on, it is black with a blinking led light (which only shows when plugged in to either the wall charger or USB). It blinks once (red) and then three times very quickly. I can not wipe the hardware because my computer does not recognize the device. Is there anyway to fix this? I do not want to return it if I can easily fix it.
I'm Sony user since 4 years ago as I started with Sony Xperia miny pro, Xperia S, Xperia Z1, then Xperia Z2.
Now I own the black model of the xperia Z2 since 2 days I decided to try the waterproof ability and take a photo under the water. I took the phone with me under the water it's not more than 30 meter and not more than 6 min .a few hours later, I found out that some of the water got in because I can see some condensation on the camera lenses both front and back.
Another few hours later I found out that the screen starts to flicker then the screen dies. All other functionality such as the sound still works because I can hear the tone if someone call me or receive a sms but the display and touch is dead.
I've recently noticed a radius of brighter pixels on the top right part of my iPhone 4. I think this is known as 'dead pixels'. it covers quite a patch of the top right corner of the screen. When I put pressure on the patch, it makes a jelly puddle momentum, just like when you put pressure of a laptop screen, you get that jelly puddle. Just to confirm, is it dead pixels that I've got? or would dead pixels black out on the screen and be unreadable when you touch in that area?
I found there is a very little tiny white dot that I doubt might be a dead pixel on my iphone 4s screen. It hard to notice only when the screen turns totally black such as power off and on the iPhone. I've just bought my iPhone 4s January from the Yoobee and I covered the screen with protective film once I had bought the phone. Do I really need to get a replacement?
Over the past couple of months, my iPhone 3GS has had dead spots on the left side of the screen, preventing me from using the r, d and x keys, the number 4 and the semi colon and comma keys.Just a note; I can't put my phone to sleep or turn off as my lock button isn't working, so I'm using the AssistiveTouch settings.
My blackberry torch died last night so I plugged it in all day today I have pulled battery out while still plugged in off and on all day and still not getting it to charge properly. It shows a battery with an x thru the it in the middle of the screen on the display.
I have a Nokia E5-00 which one day out of the blue turned off. The screen went blank and does not start. On pressing the start key the phone vibrated, but nothing happened. Eventually even that stopped. I think the vibration continued till there was some power in the battery. Now the phone is dead and does not charge. Nothing happens. It does not start, PC does not detect it.
I've just received my Galaxy S2, the first android phone I've ever owned. I've been advised to charge the battery for several hours the first time. When I plugged in the battery charger the battery charging icon appears for about 1 minute and then the screen goes completely dead when the charger is plugged in! Every phone I've had since the mid 90s constantly shows a battery symbol charging throughout the charging process. Is there something wrong with my phone or charger or does the Galaxy S2 not show anything on the screen when charging up?
A 2nd atrix in my house recently had a keyboard issue which prevented using the keyboard in the portrait mode. It responded but not correctly. Eagle328 suggested downloading another keyboard, which solved the keyboard use problem so that we can at least use it in portrait mode.
We have now realized that a specific area of the display on all home screens is "dead."
That is, if you divided the screen into 5 equal sections from top to bottom, the second section does not respond anywhere from left to right of that section.
Example 1: if you had your home page filled with app icons, you would have 20 icons. In the second row of icons (from the top), not one of the 4 would respond. All others would act normally.
Example 2: If you had 4 notifications and you pulled the screen down, you could tap the first one, the third one, and the fourth one and get a response...but the 2nd one would not respond because it ends up in that second section of the screen.
I'm thinking it is time to take the phone to the AT&T store, but wanted to throw this out first. As with most of you, this phone is used for business, and would be extremely inconvenient to take into town,... but afraid it may be that time.
as of today my phone has dead spots on the touch screen where it will not read my touch at all. and the other spaces that will react slower. is there anyway to resolve this without having to go back to verizon and getting it replaced....for the 5th time?
I am an addition to that list wherein the touch of my phone has gone completely dead. Have tried the repair option via the PCC but that has not helped. Rebooting multiple times has had no impact. Although the soft keys on the phone still operate but the touch has become completely unresponsive.
I received my phone 5 days ago and it was working no problem until yesterday when i was turning off wifi as didn't need it and screen went white and phone turned off and now won't turn back on, the light for charging doesn't even come on. Is the phone dead ?
So i loved this phone until i let it charge overnight on my desk to wake up to it BURNING HOT but the screen will not turn on. my morning alarm clock is going off but i can't turn it off either -.- Â the LED light is solid orange but the screen is completely dead. i tried pressing the red reset button and ive tried connecting it to the PC companion but it can't repair it.
Motorola Droid Turbo (v. 1) Ballistic - I have a dead spot on the upper left hand corner of the screen, annoyingly right where a menu or "back" navigation button usually is in an app. I have confirmed this one spot is dead to the touch with a screen tester. When I turn my phone off and back on, it reactivates the spot for a time, then eventually it goes dead again. This phone is less than 2 weeks old...I just got my settings just the way I like them.
Had MPT 5.05, have updated it fully online - 5.31a. Downloaded Motorola Driver Installer 5.20 and did a Clean and Reinstall on those. Windows XP SP3 recognizes phone when plugged in with proper USB cable (Motorola OEM cable for this phone).Clients husbands phone, screen went dark, AT&T said they would have to repair the phone before being able to pull off contact list and photos. Plus charge for the process of pulling off. Right.First thing I noticed, if I plug the USB cable into the phone, then into the USB port on PC while phone is OFF, the outside screen lights up and inside screen lights up with HELLOMOTO splash screen, after a few moments, both screens go dark and will not come back on.
MPT sees that the phone is there, however, constantly returns that it is not ready due to possible OTA or starting up, wait... message when trying to find contacts on the phone.Question - is there something on the phone that needs to be done to put it into a mode where it can talk to the PC?uestion 2 - the screen is not DEAD as I can tell from the HELLOMOTO splash screen, what could be causing it to go dark when leaving that splash screen?
i bought My Motorola Defy Cell Phone (MB255) on 26 Feb 2011 from Germany(amazon) and i have used it until this week , When i writing a message suddenly my phone screen getting dark for 2 second and after that it was reset it self and i saw middle of the Phone Displays has dead defective line , it all pixels has dead in a line i can use my phone but there is not a line middle of the phone , it is annoying Now i am living in istanbul /Turkey and , i tried the connect authorized service centre in istanbul turkey , ,there is only one service and he says therese not valid warranty in Turkey because of device bought from Germany , after that i call Turkey distributor of motorola to asking internatinal warranty , Thay said to me same thing There is not warranty at Turkey ( what is internationl warranty , Could anybody say to me ?)When i check my devices warranty paper and user Manuel (on the original box) and your website says this device under international warranty but Turkey office says differents?
